Kara was not bluffing.
She took a step forward and looked into Rita’s eyes.
“Rita, shut up if you don’t have the guts!” Kara yelled.
Provoked, Rita glared at Kara and said, “I hope you won’t regret it!”
Kara smiled faintly. The coldness in her smile reminded people of James.
“I’ve never labeled anything I might regret in my life!” Kara said.
Rita was so angry. She was like a volcano ready to erupt at any time. “Okay! Kara, let’s start it! But, if you lose the competition, move out of the dormitory. Moreover, you must show honor to me whenever you see me!” Rita said.
Without any hesitation, Kara nodded to show her agreement.
“Okay! But if you lose, you must apologize to us a thousand times and help us clean the classroom!” Kara said.
Hearing the bet, Dustin raised his eyebrows because he thought they were too childish. After all, girls couldn’t fight like boys.
Besides, Dustin wondered why they could have the confidence to get his approval and join his dance team.
When Liz and Hazel heard the bet, they stared at her in a daze for a long time before coming back to their senses.
“Kara, there is something I forgot to tell you. Rita used to be a member of the dance team in high school. I also heard that she started dancing as long as she could walk,” Liz murmured to Kara in a small voice.
Kara didn’t say anything. She glanced at Liz and then turned to look at the ceiling.
“Well, can I eat my words?” Kara asked.
With awkward smiles, Liz and Hazel said, “Probably not!”
Shameless, Kara said, “It doesn’t matter to move out. Anyway, I don’t live in the dormitory. It’s not a big deal to show you some respect. I’m polite to people all the time.”
All the girls were stunned by those words.
Suddenly, Kara felt a man put his arm on her shoulder.
“Are you bullying my sister?” the man asked.
It was Eli.
Eli seemed to have an obsession with the white color. In Kara’s memory, his T-shirts, jerseys, casual clothes, and outfits were all white.
As expected, Eli wore a white shirt, navy blue jeans, and a pair of white sneakers. But indeed, he looked extremely handsome.
Kara quickly shook off his arm and gave him a warning glare.
“Are you going to hold a dance competition? Count me in!” Eli said.
“Look! That is Eli, the cutest guy in our school,” a girl exclaimed.
That girl was too excited after seeing Eli.
Her scream also drew the attention of the others.
Eli looked at them with a polite smile, cold as usual.
His friends knew well that his politeness was just another form of alienation.
“Does Eli also want to join the dance club? Oh my god! I must join the dance club, too. Then, I can see him and even talk with him in the future,” another girl said excitedly.
“Exactly! I will try my best to join the club. That’s the only way to get closer to Eli,” another girl said.
Girls discussed the news fervidly.
Eli turned his wrist and glanced at Rita. “What’s the rule of competition?” Eli asked.
Rita was a little excited when she saw Eli because she wished Eli could see her dancing.
However, Eli walked directly toward Kara and placed his arm on her shoulder to support Kara. Seeing that, Rita gritted her teeth in anger.
“Eli, It is none of your business!” Rita said.
Kara blinked her large eyes. There was a crafty look flashing through her amber eyes.
“According to the rules, I can decide who can be my teammates,” Kara said.
Rita didn’t know what to say.
She glared at Kara angrily.
However, Kara gave Rita a sweet, bright smile.
That was Kara’s strategy.
Kara blinked anxiously after saying those words.
She just said the same sentence James had told her.
“Okay, let’s compete in three rounds. Let Dustin be the judge,” Rita said.
“Fine, three rounds! But we have to enter the dance club first and then go through an internal competition. Dustin will decide who can join his dance team,” Kara said.
Dustin, however, thought it too easy to let them join his dance team only through one competition.
Dustin originally had no interest in arguing with the girls, but when he saw Eli’s gaze, he helplessly pinched his forehead because he knew Eli wanted him to help Kara.
“I am honored to be your judge! Enjoy the competition!” Dustin said.
Hearing Dustin’s words, all were surprised that Dustin should tacitly approve of the bet.
Kara raised her eyebrows and glanced at Dustin. “Dustin! Thank you very much!” Kara said.
Dustin said, “Don’t thank me now! You’d better perform well. I won’t let you join my team if you are not good at dancing.”
Kara was at a loss for what to say.
Stroking her forehead, Kara felt embarrassed.
The competition would begin an hour later. Kara found a classroom to discuss the competition with other teammates.
Kara planned to prepare a solo dance, a pas de deux, and a group dance for the three rounds of competition.
Among them, Hazel had practiced dancing for the longest time.
Therefore, Kara asked Hazel to prepare for the solo dance.
However, Hazel was too timid. She was afraid that she would be too nervous and even faint on the stage.
Eli had an idea. They all would appear on the stage at the opening. After that, Eli promised to help Hazel to finish her solo dance.
As for how to help, Hazel did not say much of it, and then they moved to the next topic.
Liz had only learned Jazz. Eli and Kara had learned ballet before, so Kara and Eli would prepare for the pas de deux.
However, they had never cooperated before. In addition, Kara had never danced with a partner in a pas de deux.
They could only quickly think of what they both had learned and combined those dance movements into a complete dance. Their goal was to finish the entire pas de deux without making any mistakes.
As for the group dance, none of them could keep up with the rhythm.
“Actually, it doesn’t matter if we lose the competition. But that would be a shame for Eli,” Liz said helplessly.
“I’m already nervous,” Hazel said.
Thinking of the fact that she had to dance alone on stage, Hazel couldn’t help trembling. Her heart was also pounding.
Kara realized that she might be a little impulsive. She scratched her head in embarrassment and said, “If we lose it, I’ll take you out to have an expensive feast. Perhaps a big meal can comfort your broken hearts.”
Eli took a sip of water and immediately spat it out when he heard what Kara said.
“Kara, we haven’t started yet. How do you know we will lose it?” Eli asked.
Kara glanced at him and said, “Eli, do you know my greatest merit?”
“What is it?” Eli asked.
“I have a clear estimation of myself. But I’m weak at being challenged by others,” Kara replied.
Eli was speechless.
There was only half an hour left before the competition when someone suddenly pushed the door open.
They turned to look at the person and were surprised to find it was Dustin.
“How is it going?” Dustin asked.
“Well, not bad,” Eli answered.
Eli shrugged with a relaxed look.
Eli was so calm.
Kara, Hazel, and Liz glanced at him and consciously kept a distance from him.
He was the only one who thought their preparation was good. Kara, Hazel, and Liz still believed they were making too many mistakes.
Dustin glanced at Kara and thought, ‘She looked confident when she accepted the bet, but why does she look so frustrated now?’
When Kara noticed Dustin was staring at her, she paused for a second and immediately gave him a bright smile.
“Dustin, do you have any advice?” Kara asked.
Dustin raised his eyebrows and said, “I don’t dare to give you any advice. I only came to tell you that you barely have the chance to win the match.”
Kara was stunned.
Kara rolled her eyes at Dustin. Although Dustin was telling the truth, she was unhappy to hear that.
