“Snow, help me!” Emma called me in the morning, as it was Saturday and we are off from work.
“What is it?” Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I yawned. I really hate people calling me by the morning.
“I have… a DATE!” she yelled through the phone. I sat up straight, hitting my head on the headboard but that’s not what I was worried about.
“A what?” I asked, “Can you repeat that again?”
“A date, Snow! And I’m having problems! Come over here ASAP! I need you! I don’t know what to dress and what makeup and-”
“Whoa there, Emma. Do you think I’m the best person to ask for that? And who is the person? Let me know who the guy is before going-”
“It’s Dax.” She cut me off.
“It’s who?”
I scoffed. “Geez, I know that, but why?” The last time I checked, Emma hated that guy? She was silent.
Taking a deep breath, I said, “Explain everything to me, Emma. In detail.”
It didn’t take me long to go to Emma’s house and when I arrived, Emma explained everything to me, how she suddenly had a change of heart and thought that she should give him a chance.
I rolled my eyes at her. “You could have refused.” I mean, I’m not bitter or anything, but I seriously don’t trust Dax yet,
Her cheeks reddened, “I… I can’t..”
“Yes, you can.” I pressed.
I turned to Emma to see her face slightly in pink. I raised my eyebrows at her.
What happened to the speech she made to me about some and I quote, “I am an independent and strong woman, I don’t need a man, specifically, that Dax?
Looking at her helplessly like that, I sighed. “Whatever, let me call someone who can help you.” I pressed the person in my minds’ number, it didn’t take long for her to answer.
Minutes later, after giving out instructions and requests, Hannah appeared at Emma’s doorstep. “Hi!” She squealed, hugging me and hugging Emma, introducing herself, “I’m Hannah by the way.”
Emma smiled at her, “Yes, I think I know, you visited the shop last time, and Snow told me about you…” shaking her hand, they both exchanged pleasantries. “I’m Emma… and I know we just met but I think you are the only one who can help me.”
Hannah beamed at that, “I’m glad you asked, say no more.” She winked and entered the house. She was carrying a makeup bag and a dress. We helped her get up to Emma’s room and sat by the bed.
“You know, I’m Eion’s cousin, right?” asked Hannah as she prepped. Emma nodded since I told her about it already.
“Yeah, sadly. That guy is my cousin.” Hannah tsked. “Did he mistreat you? Tell me first cause I wanna know, I will tell Uncle Adam or Aunt Maggie since he listens only to her.”
Emma glanced at me, not sure if she should tell Hannah what I just experienced with him. I shook my head no and I butted in, “She’s fine. We’re fine, Hannah.” Well, I should tell Hannah everything I’ve been through with Eion, but it might be too late for that, now that I finally got used to Eion.
“Anyways, let’s plan for this date,” Hannah said, looking at Emma. “We’re gonna make you beautiful, sweetie.” She grinned. I sighed in relief, happy that they’re already close with each other.
After lots of makeup brushes and dresses, Emma was fully prepared. She wore a red summer dress, with light makeup on her face. Hannah smiled in satisfaction as she looked at her finished work.
“Thank you!” Emma gasped, seeing her reaction in the mirror.
“Now that you’re ready, we need to see how your date goes, let’s tag along!” Hannah said.
“Let’s quietly follow them,” I whispered to Hannah.
“Hey, I heard that!” Emma snapped, “And besides, who said it’s only a date? It’s a triple date.” Winking, she has this evil smile on her face.
Triple date? I look at her in confusion before realizing it. Oh no…
****
“Hi girls,” Dax said when we arrived at the mall. He looked at Emma in awe, “Wow, you look so beautiful Emma.”
Emma blushed, “Thank you, you’re not as bad as yourself.”
I gagged at the sight and instead, looked at Leroy, who was laughing at them, and looked at me, “You look good, Snow.”
“Thanks.” I responded, “You are not bad yourself.”
Glancing at Hannah beside me, I raised my eyebrows at her flushed cheeks. I see. No wonder Hannah fully dressed up herself even though this was Emma’s date. She knew that Leroy was coming too.
“Shall we go now?” I asked. Good thing it is only the two of them. Why did Emma say it was a triple date? And why am I dragged in here? I just want to watch cartoons and chill all day at my house. Guess I will be the third wheel here. Not that I complain.
Dax shook his head, “We’re waiting for someone.”
A few seconds had passed and Leroy exclaimed, “And he’s right.. here,” When he said that, I turned round to come face to face with the one and only robot, Eion. Well, it feels weird to call him with that name after what happened last time.
“Hey Eion, here!” Dax yelled, catching Eion’s attention and he spotted us.
Eion made his way towards us and I tensed up, avoiding his gaze. I suddenly remembered that moment… Gosh! I was finally forgetting about the kiss last time but now that I see him again, it’s really not getting out of my mind!
And to think that was my first one!
He was wearing striped polo shirts and black pants, wearing sneakers and all. This is the first time I saw him wearing a casual shirt.. usually, he wore a button-down shirt that makes him look older.
Today, he looked younger. I glared at Emma and she just shrugged at me in answer. So this is what she meant by triple date? A date that includes me and Eion? Gosh. Seriously?
Leroy clapped his hands when everyone was already gathered here, “Now that we’re complete, let’s go guys,” Leroy said, slinging his arms on Hannah’s shoulders.
