THEME: Rosalyn
MOON STONE FORTRESS
AT THE PACK HOUSE: ALPHA CARL CHAMBERS
Carl tried to hold himself up as Jaylen explained the situation at hand to them. They had all gotten used to his presence that they can’t help but feel a bit sad that he had to leave urgently.
“I promise to be back as soon as Rosalyn is okay dad. Please hold on for me.” Jaylen knelt next to his father. “You can’t die on me now. I promise to sort all of this out and return home.”
Meagan caressed his hair slowly. “Don’t let us keep you. Rosalyn needs you more than we do right now.”
“Your mother is right, Jaylen. It’s expected of you to be by her side.” Carl supported.
Gabriella heaved a sigh. “I can’t believe that sweet girl got into an accident. I hope that reckless driver gets caught.”
“Thanks guys. I would leave now.” Jaylen muttered as he got stopped half way by Claire who had rushed into the room. He chuckled. “Hey munchkin.”
Claire held onto his waist immediately as she looked up at him. “Do you really have to leave?”
“It’s important Claire. She is family.” Jaylen told her.
Nodding her head in understanding, she let him go. Everyone of them including Carl on the wheel saw him out. Lorelei tried not to involve herself in the family time and intrude their moment. She had stayed back outside even when there was no restriction on her entry into the pack house.
Just as Jaylen was about to get into his car, his eyes caught sight of Lorelei on the far end looking meekly. He motioned for her to come towards him. And moving with caution Lorelei walked towards him.
“Hey mama!” He cooed holding her to himself. No one was surprised to see them act that way towards each other. Jaylen had been quite clear and expressive with his feelings.
Lorelei rubbed at his arm. “Please come back soon.”
“I will ensure to do so. Take care of yourself baby.” Jaylen kissed her for a split second. He got back into the car before waving at them all.
As she watched the car drive off, Lorelei felt a nudge in her side. “I need to know what exactly ensued today and the days before. You have been hoarding too much information, you should be penalized.” Claire joked.
Lorelei folded her arms while thinning her lips. “Why would you even joke around right now.”
Claire shrugged. “This is just in the same relation with life and death.”
Lorelei turned towards her with a stern look on her face. “Really now?”
“I was just saying.” Claire responded with an innocent look. “Whether you like it or not Hermione is on her way here. Which implies you would be spilling all of the tea we missed this past weeks.”
“I don’t want to spill any form of liquid with any of you.” Lorelei bit her lip.
Claire nodded her head like she understood what she was saying perfectly, “We would try to understand that after you have shared the necessary information.”
Lorelei couldn’t hold back the laughter. “You are something else, your family is here.”
Claire looked behind her. “You think they are that patient, everyone of them has gone inside.”
“Oh.” Lorelei mused. “Right. I want to ask, I haven’t seen or heard from Jayden for a while.”
“Sebastian didn’t tell you?”
“Tell me what?”
“He is on a business trip. But he should be back soon though. It’s not like he did tell me or inform me when he would be back.” Claire said with a shrug.
“Why are you always so pissed when you talk about your brother?”
“You make it sound like Jayden is the sweetest person to live with.”
“Come on Claire, he is still your brother.” Lorelei said.
Claire his her smile. “Never said otherwise.” She shrugged. “Ah!” She exclaimed as Hermione’s car drove through the pack house gate. “Here comes one of my favorite persons.”
Lorelei slapped her forehead. “I don’t think I really want to do this with you girls right now.”
“But it’s been long we hanged out. And I was thinking we could make a stop at the Force Base to say hi to Ron. I have missed him.” She made a puppy dog eyes.
Resting on one feet to the other Lorelei looked towards an unaware Hermione. “I doubt if that is a good idea.”
“Why not?” Claire asked as she stared at Hermione.
“Why are you both staring at me like that?” Hermione inquired.
Claire snorted. “I said we should all go to visit Ron.”
Hermione had always been the blunt one amongst them. “Oh so sorry to burst your bubbles, I really can’t stand that brother of mine right now. I was there to see him with Lorelei today and she met with your brother there.”
Looking from Lorelei to Hermione and then Hermione to Lorelei. Claire let out a devilish smirk. “You both went to see Ron without me?”
“It had come as a surprise.” Lorelei tried to defend herself.
“I thought you were too busy with your shoot so I didn’t want to be the reason for your distraction.” Hermione stated sincerely.
Claire had been busy with the new modeling gig she was presently working on for a lingerie company and she is mostly out of the Fortress these days.
“Despite knowing you have a point, I still can’t accept that you both saw Ron without me.” Claire kept whining.
“To think he didn’t ask after you and was only drooling over Juno.” Hermione jested.
Lorelei gave her a look. “Hermione!” She whispered.
“What?” Hermione called back as she threw out her hands. “It’s not like I am lying, you were there.”
Lorelei and Hermione were talking in an extremely low tone, Claire glared at her friends. “If you must know, I’m still here.”
“Of course we do.”
“Enough of your sassiness Hermione. I don’t need to be told that you have spent the day with your brothers. You only become a bitchy responder when you spent time with them.” Claire affirmed.
Hermione threw her head back dramatically. “You should have seen the both of them. There is nothing I won’t do to avoid this weekly meet up. But mum never listen to me.”
“Awwn, you want to cry?” Lorelei couldn’t help but taunt.
“I think she is really pained.” Claire giggled silently.
Opening her eyes, Hermione watched as their eyes danced trying hard to curtail their laughter. Stretching her hand down to get a foot of her sneakers, she made a move to run after them.
The two of them ran off to the far edge with Hermione hot on their tail.
