CHAPTER 22
Alpha Devon got to Emma’s chambers and saw the maids heading out with her tray of food.
He went inside and he found Emma turning around on her bed restlessly.
“Are you okay? Why did you send back your food?” Alpha Devon asked staring at Emma and she sat up.
“What brings you here?” Emma asked avoiding eye contact with Devon.
Alpha Devon remembered Elder Crick’s advice for him tonight.
“You need to fulfill your duties remember. You still have to satisfy me” Devon said seductively and Emma spread her legs open submissively.
Devon smirked on seeing that.
He removed his shirt quickly and mounted on Emma who was on heat already.
“You sure like this don’t you” Emma whispered in Alpha Devon’s ears as he squeezed her titties gently and he smiled.
“Well, what would be more amazing than seeing you on heat” Alpha Devon uttered and leaned forward and kissed Emma softly.

Silver lake pack…
Max stood next to the healer as she had a look at Grayson’s current situation.
“Since, he has gone back to his normal self. We have nothing to worry about right?” Max asked curiously.
“The Alpha got some training on how to control his powers right?” The healer asked and Grayson opened his eyes suddenly.
“Thanks for the check-up but you should leave now. I don’t think that question is related to my treatment” Grayson said coldly.
“Yes sire, I was only asking to know if there are any solutions we can offer now,” The healer said slowly.
“That’s not necessary. You can leave now” Grayson said with a mean expression.
“Alright, I will take my leave now,” The healer said and left the alpha’s chambers.
Max fixed his eyes on Grayson as he failed to understand Grayson’s actions.
“If you wish to say something then go ahead,” Grayson said coldly.
“You managed to survive two days straight of being in your wolf form and luckily we got all the doors and windows locked but we have no idea if you will hold yourself back when the blood moon arrives. The life of everyone is currently in their hands right now and here we are trying to come up with suggestions on how to keep you under control but you bluntly rejected that” Max said seriously.
“I guess that’s what everyone must be thinking right now. That I’m not worthy of being an alpha. An alpha who’s on the verge of killing his clan members and that’s why the healer asked such a ridiculous question just to confirm their gossip” Grayson said seriously.
“Gossip or not, who cares about that? Your safety is what matters most and why do you think your healer will share information about you with others? Why are you suddenly losing faith in everyone? Why are you so insecure?” Max asked seriously.
“Why won’t I feel insecure when my throne is about to be taken away from me because of what everyone’s saying” Grayson yelled.
“What’s everyone saying? You should stop making things up just because of your situation. If you feel, everyone’s talking about your incompetency then bring up solutions to our current situation. The blood moon is approaching soon and Emma’s not in our possession we lost the trust of our clan members so blaming everyone, you should come up with solutions” Max screamed and Grayson tightened his fist as he looked away.
“How am I supposed to know what it feels like to be controlled by my powers when my father never got me a mentor to guide me? The doom of silver lake pack will lie on the shoulder of my selfish father” Grayson yelled and his claws grew out.
“Stop getting upset and come up with a solution. What do you plan on doing if you transform again and stay that way forever so put yourself together” Max yelled as he noticed Grayson’s claws that grew out.
“Can’t you see? I’m not thinking straight right now. I’m desperate, I need answers and solutions but I can’t come up with any so other than raising your voice, come up with suggestions yourself. I also don’t wish to hurt anyone because of my past mistakes” Grayson said seriously.
“This is happening because of the prophecy. If we happen to get the seer in our possession. I’m pretty sure, he will come up with solutions to your problem” Max uttered and Grayson looked at him.
“You think there’s any chance or possibility on what you just said now? The seer went into hiding immediately after his prophecy and no one knows what or how he looks like so other than coming up with impossible suggestions, you should come up with something realistic” Grayson said with a deep sigh.
“There’s nothing impossible on Earth. Why do you think he went into hiding? Maybe because his revelation isn’t true. What kind of seer goes into hiding after passing on a prophecy? I don’t believe it’s not possible to find him” Max said.
“If you find him then what? Do we have enough time on our hands to go around looking for a seer when the blood moon is around the corner? Other than doing that, you can as well just fetch me Emma and we will get this over with”
“I would have done that but since her kidnap, Alpha Devon has doubled his security. Not even a fly can cross his territory alive” Max said dispiritedly.
“How about I leave silver lake pack for the time being till the blood moon is over?” Grayson asked anxiously.
“That sounds like a good idea but that’s a bit risky, other werewolves might use the blood moon as an excuse to get rid of our clan. Leaving silver pack is giving our enemies the upper hand to invade our pack” Max said seriously.
“When the blood moon arrives, everyone goes wild and that’s something we can’t put under control” Grayson uttered worriedly.
“You should look out for yourself first. They’re all probably getting themselves prepared for it” Max said.
I have no idea if Charlotte’s safe. The blood moon is approaching so nowhere is safe to hide in. Max muttered in his head worriedly and Grayson stared at him as he read Max’s thoughts.
“You couldn’t even look for Charlotte because you’ve been so busy looking out for me? I sure am a great burden” Grayson said in a low tone.
“Just like I said, Charlotte’s not important. We only used her and the plan flopped as well so why are you suddenly talking about her in a situation like this?” Max shrugged as he tried to hide his worries.
“She was a failed plan but you fell for her just spending a few days with her. It will be cold of you to deny what you feel for her. You might regret it someday” Grayson uttered.
“None of that is important and I never said I fell in love with her. I only grew a little bit attached to her since we spent almost every day together and why should we be talking about this when we’re coming up with ways to save silver lake pack” Max protested.
“Seeing how everywhere is quiet. She’s probably hiding in the grey pack and about our current situation, you shouldn’t worry yourself much. I’ve got other plans in mind” Grayson said with a half smile.
Max looked at him with curiosity written on his face.
“What plans do you have?” Max asked curiously.
“You will find out soon so go after Charlotte, you might find her before the blood moon arrives” Grayson advised.
“You’re suddenly sounding so mysterious and it feels like it wouldn’t work in my favor. Whenever you sound this way, you’ve got a desperate plan in mind and I get anxious when that happens” Max pointed out and Grayson’s gaze landed on the window.
“The worries and future of silver lake pack lie on my shoulders and I can’t just sit back and watch things go the wrong way. It all got to this extent because I got too desperate and that’s why we lost Emma. All our efforts went in vain” Grayson said in a low tone.
“Don’t beat yourself up for it. It would have worked out just fine if Alpha Grant wasn’t so selfish to have it all. I’m glad he got what he deserved after making us go through all this” Max said coldly.
“I guess that’s the positive news about this whole scenario. Max can you leave me for a moment, I need to rest a bit” Grayson said slowly.
“Are you sure you will be fine to be alone without me? It will take Tristan just a few words to make you lose your control, he’s terrible at words” Max pointed out and Grayson smirked.
“I will be fine so go ahead and give out my orders, no one’s allowed to come to my chambers. Does that sound fair to you?” Grayson asked and Max looked at him suspiciously.
“Fair enough. Get some rest, I will leave now” Max said and left the room after he watched Grayson lay on his bed.
“The alpha placed an order, no one is allowed to get into his chambers till tomorrow so watch out for anyone who tries to force his way in” Max ordered strictly and the guards bowed in response.
Even Grayson thinks Charlotte must have been held captive in the Grey pack. It wouldn’t hurt if I confirm my doubts. Max uttered in his head then head out of the pack house.
Max drove down to Grey pack and placed a call across to Kent.
“Why did you call out for me? What’s your motive? You know so well how strictly no one is allowed to leave grey’s pack territory” Kent said sarcastically.
“Aren’t you scared I might do something dangerous to you?” Max asked coldly.
“If you intended to do that then you wouldn’t have called me out like this and what makes you think you’re capable of bringing harm to me? I might not have much confidence in my fighting skills but I am way better than those who skip classes just to go after a she-wolf” Kent scoffed.
Max clenched his fist as he tried to suppress his anger.
“It’s all in the past so cut me some slack. Where the hell is Charlotte? Her disappearance is way too quiet and I can’t help but suspect you’re behind it. This isn’t Alpha Devon’s way of handling situations as this” Max said seriously.
“Why are you looking for her? You left her at the altar without having a second thought” Kent taunted.
“It all happened for a reason and why are you going in circles? Why are you avoiding my questions?” Max asked seriously.
“I have no idea where Charlotte is. She visited me immediately after she ran out of the silver pack but I didn’t hold her captive so I think you should search for her somewhere else” Kent said with a blank expression.
“And again it’s late already, you should head back to where you’re coming from” Kent added.
“Don’t get your hopes up, Charlotte doesn’t go for werewolves like you” Max said seriously.
Kent laughed at Max’s statement.
“And who said she’s my type of mate?” Kent asked coldly and Max stared at him a bit confused.
Some werewolves howled angrily from bushes afar and Kent looked up at the sky immediately.
His eyes went wide open in shock.
Max followed the direction of Kent’s gaze.
“Oh no! This isn’t good” Max gasped breathlessly and then ran into his car and drove off swiftly.
Kent ran back to the pack house in milliseconds.
“Where’s the Alpha?” Kent asked one of the guards heading out of Devon’s chambers.
“The alpha is at Luna’s chambers,” The guard said and Kent headed to Emma’s chambers swiftly.

Max heads back to silver lake pack quickly.
He ran into the pack house and it was unusually quiet for how it was supposed to be.
Max got to Grayson’s chambers and the guards at his door weren’t there.
“Sire!” Max called out anxiously then ran into his room.
Grayson was laying down on his bed unconscious.
“Grayson!” Max screamed and he transited immediately.
