CHAPTER 20
Max noticed his rapid transformation of Grayson so he got out of his bed and then out of the room quickly before Grayson would do something he might regret.
“Get the hell out of my phone!” Grayson howled and smashed his phone with his hand angrily.
He turned around to attack anyone he sees.

Max placed a call to Alpha Grant.
“How rude of alpha Grayson to speak to me in that manner? Who the hell is he to raise his voice at me?” Alpha Grant fired immediately after he took Max’s call.
“Give Emma to us. The alpha has lost control of his lupine powers so be generous and hand Emma over. It doesn’t matter how long you hold Emma captive, she still won’t tell you a thing. That’s a responsibility alpha Falcon lay on her shoulders so how do you expect her to say anything to you so easily” Max said seriously over the phone.
“Then what do you think is the best way to get her to speak?” Alpha Grant asked in a lower tone.
“I can only tell you that if you hand Emma over then I will tell you exactly how to get her to speak without having to stress yourself. We should need someone close to her to make that happen” Max uttered with a mean expression.

Shred pack…
Alpha Grant tied Emma to a chair in a store room in his chambers.
“Why? Why do you keep forcing me to tell you what I have no idea about?” Emma asked with a frown.
“Because I know exactly how much of a liar you are. Alpha Falcon that sly fox” Alpha Grant said seriously.
“Sly fox? Did you just say sly fox? That sly fox was once your mentor so watch what you say before the moon goddess curses you” Emma said furiously.
Alpha Grant laughed hard like a complete jerk then he grabbed Emma’s neck.
“Curses me? Do you have any idea what a curse means? Alpha Falcon was just a mentor and I care why he got killed out of the blue when I was close to getting the secret techniques and do you know why I don’t care?” Alpha Grant asked with a vicious smile.
He let go of Emma’s neck.
“Because the only one I care so much about is my humble self and how my ruling as the Alpha” Alpha Grant uttered coldly.
“Jerk! You’re a complete asshole” Emma cursed Grant slapped her hard across the face and blood streamed down her lips.
“No one dares curse me in my presence so if you wish to keep that fragile life of yours then watch your mouth. I’m nothing like Devon, I might kill you without even having a second thought about it” alpha Grant said angrily.
Emma’s heartbeat raced with anger as she glared at him.
“What’s the secret behind your father’s masked assassin?” Alpha Grant asked seriously.
Emma spat the little blood in her mouth on his face.
Alpha Grant wiped it off slowly and he raised his hand to give Emma another slap.
“Now I see why you weren’t among the options of being a true Alpha because you’re nothing close to being a true Alpha. You’re filled with filth and deceit” Emma said angrily.
“Shut your mouth before I end up doing what I might regret. Go ahead and tell me where the hell your father kept his strategies” Alpha Grant yelled.
Emma looked away not ready to bulge.
“Should I send out my warriors to go finish up the rest of the werewolves left in the shadow pack?” Alpha Grant asked and Emma looked at him a bit shocked.
Wait a minute, there’s no way he knows they’re some surviving werewolves but why does he sound so confident? Emma questioned in her head looking at Grant with a little bit of shock written on her face.
‘Emma don’t fall for it. Alpha Grant doesn’t sound confident. I don’t think he knows of their survival’ Rose cut in.
“Go ahead and do it that’s if they’re any survivors,” Emma said and looked away.
Oh damn it, none of my threats are getting through to her. Alpha Grant groaned in his head.
“I will give you a second chance to come clean when I get back. I’m pretty sure you have no idea what it takes for a soon-to-be Luna to disappear into thin air before she even gets crowned” alpha Grant uttered with a malicious smile then left the storeroom.
I’m not losing my cool till I avenge the death of my parents and that should be my driving goal. I can’t just give up in a strange pack without anyone knowing of my whereabouts. Emma said in her head as little sweat pops up her forehead.
“Rose you should give me some hand here, how do we get out of here?” Emma asked her wolf.
“This looks like an enclosed space. There are no windows, making it even harder to escape but let’s wait for an opportunity to create a chance for our escape” Rose said.
Emma exhaled frustratedly as she struggled to loosen the grip of the robes.
“But don’t you think, Alpha Grant underestimated your abilities? He used mere robes to tie you down” Rose cut in and a smile appeared on Emma’s lips.

Alpha Grant head to the pack’s garden to put a call across to Max.
“I don’t care how you do it just make sure to get Emma to tell me the techniques while I hand her over to you but what’s the assurance you wouldn’t betray me?” Alpha Grant asked seriously over the phone.
“The life of my Alpha is on the line do you still think I will jeopardize the last chance to save the life of Alpha Grayson just because of a mere fighting technique? I’m not that shallow to go behind my words” Max said over the phone.
“Your words are more assuring than that of Alpha Grayson. Alright then, I will bring Emma to you after sunset just so alpha Devon doesn’t get a grip of it” Grant said and hung up.
A guard ran to where Grant stood.
“Sire, I think we’ve got intruders at the East gate” The guards announced and Grant looked at him a bit surprised.
“I strictly gave orders not to allow anyone to come through. Why are they suddenly intruders?” Alpha Grant asked seriously.
“Apologies sir, we have no idea how they got in,” The guard said and walked out of that place quickly as he head to his chambers where he held Emma captive.
Alpha Grant got into the storeroom and Emma is no longer there.
“Oh damn it, Devon!” Grant groaned angrily and he head out of the pack house as he ordered the guards.
“Search every nook and cranny of this place. All the gates should be closed down. No one is allowed to leave shred pack alive, whoever it may be” Alpha Grant ordered angrily.
“Yes, sire, “The guards said in chorus.

Emma was knocked out and carried away by Alpha Devon and Kent.
“Sire, where are you going?” Kent asked curiously as they got to Devon’s car.
“I need to get back at him for making me go through this” Alpha Devon said coldly and ran back to shred pack house.
Devon sighted Grant from afar and then threw a poisoned dagger at him which went through his left leg.
“Sire!” The guards around Grant screamed as they watched him fall to his knees. They rushed to him but he was losing so much blood already.
Grant looked in the direction of where the dagger came from and he saw Alpha Devon with a malicious smile on his face.
Alpha Devon glared at Grant with cold looks in his eyes then he ran back to the escape route he created with Kent for days without notice.

Grey pack…
Alpha Devon and Kent came back home with Emma.
“The plan worked out perfectly,” Kent said with a smile.
“I knew it would turn out this way. We made him lose his guard for days. Such a pity he underestimated me” Devon smirked.
Flashback on days back…
Alpha Devon and Kent drove back to Grey pack and Devon stood next to his window as he thought much on what to do to get Emma back.
“Getting through either of the gates will be quite a tug of war since Grant is waiting for me to show up” Alpha Devon uttered.
“Alpha Grant wouldn’t care much about our ruckus at the gate to have an audience with him” Kent added and Devon looked at him as a thought came through his mind.
“He’s good at using mind control right? Let’s give him the taste of his medicine” Alpha Devon said with a vicious smile.
“Do you have anything in mind?” Kent asked curiously.
“There’s always a way to get what I want,” Devon said confidently.
Flashback ends…
“Too bad, alpha Grant only trained his guards at the main entrance on how to resist mind control” Kent mocked.
“It worked for our benefits and that’s what matters,” Alpha Devon said and turned to glance at Emma who was still deep asleep on his bed.
“She’s taking quite some time to wake up. She got pretty tortured as well, was it worth holding up to the secret techniques? Emma seems to be tight-lipped than expected. Does this mean we don’t stand a chance as well” Kent uttered in a lower tone?
“I gave up on retrieving the technique long ago. I just want to get to the bottom of my mother’s death. I’m not sparing anyone who conspired against Grey pack to get mother killed. Whoever conspired is also after my life so I can’t let them live” Alpha Devon uttered coldly staring at space.
“Since Alpha Grant is out of the picture, he won’t be making use of his legs for long. Should I get back to my investigation?” Kent asked.
“Get to the bottom of it. Don’t leave any stone unturned” Alpha Devon said seriously.
“Alright, I’ll get going now. I need to take care of some things” Kent said then left the alpha’s chambers.
Alpha Devon walked to his bed and bent over to have a proper look at Emma’s face.

Shred pack…
Max headed to the shred pack furiously as he waited so long for alpha Grant’s arrival.
“You can’t go in,” One of the guards said at Alpha grant’s chamber door.
“I was allowed to pass through the territory and you can’t allow me to meet the alpha in person? Do you have any idea who I am?” Max asked angrily.
“Let him in” Alpha Grant uttered slowly as the healer came out of his chambers.
Max walked in angrily.
“Where’s Emma? Where the hell are you hiding her?” Max yelled looking around.
“Devon took her away under my nose without my notice” Grant uttered.
“What! How on earth did that even happen?” Max asked furiously and turned to Grant.
“What the hell happened to you? You don’t look good yourself” Max pointed out as he noticed the pale look on Grant’s face.
“Devon that sly fox got ahead of me. I can’t believe I was brought on my knees by that good for nothing” Grant said angrily as he clenched his fist angrily.
“You finally got what you deserved. This means our deal is off the table, you’re no longer of any use to me. How could you let Alpha Devon get to you so easily? You’re only just full of words. I regret agreeing to make a deal with you in the first place” Max said seriously then walked to the door and turned around.
“I advise you to look out for your clan, you don’t seem to be in the state to fight back. You can’t even be an Alpha now. Poor you!” Max mocked and left the chambers.
“You’re all piece of trash. This isn’t over till it’s over” Alpha Grant screamed angrily and he held his chest as he felt so much pain.
