Wedding

The day I saw Soleil and mommy Helena talking in the lobby was the last day I saw Soleil go to the mansion. I don’t know what happened or what they talked about because I also don’t want to ask. The days passed and the day everyone had been waiting for had arrived.
The wedding.
I am now in the room on the beach where the wedding will be held. I chose the beach with the amplest space for everyone to enjoy and not fall short of the rooms. This is what Mommy Helena chose, which she calls Revom City. As I was getting ready, I could see the outside of the beach because I was facing the window. I see visitors running around and enjoying the white sand. The wedding will begin in a few hours. My hand was already sweating from the nervousness and loudness of my heartbeat.
I haven’t seen Hugo since yesterday because they said the groom may not see the bride because the wedding will not continue. I got up to let them put on my gown. That gown was adjusted because my stomach gets bigger. While I was getting dressed, Aunt Julia, Mommy Helena, and Estella entered. I was suddenly happy with what Estella was wearing because it was so cute and it was just right for her. The first to approach me was mommy Helena with obvious delight in her eyes. She hugged me tightly, then whispered.
“Thank you very much, Adele.”
Next, Estella approached me. She gave me the flower that I would throw later. “She chose that flower.” Mommy Helena while brushing Estella’s hair and smiling. That flower is violet and I don’t know what to call it, but it has a lot of fragrance. “We’ll go out first so you and Julia can talk.”
The one who put on my make-up and fixed my hair came out first and mommy Helena and Estella followed. I looked in the mirror and touched my stomach. Never in my wild dreams did I think to go to the day I would wear a gown. I never thought that one day I would get married, either. I turned myself around, then faced Aunt Julia with tears in my eyes. I also saw tears welling up in her eyes.
“Maybe if your sister is still alive, she will be thrilled to see you. If she hadn’t died, I might have seen you two wearing wedding dresses.” Aunt Julia’s sentimentality is very heartwarming because she becomes the mother of my sister and me. Seeing her here right now in front of me while looking at me, even though I’m getting married, is a big thing. That’s proof that she didn’t leave me even though my sister died…
I suddenly remembered Soleil, who was no longer coming with her to the mansion. She used to be the one with her, but when I last saw her talking to mommy Helena, I no longer see them together. I tried to look behind her because maybe Soleil was just around the corner. Often the presence is not noticed because she is always on the side. When Aunt Julia noticed my eyes were restless, she spoke again.
“Are you looking for Soleil?”
I nodded at her, but she just sighed. “She said she would try to come. I don’t even know why she suddenly changed. I also noticed that she no longer came to help to Helena’s mansion. What do you think happened?”
I avoided looking at her because even though I wanted to answer her, I also didn’t know the answer. I also want to know what she talked about with mommy Helena. Even though I argued with Soleil, I can’t deny I was still worried about her. And if I was asked if I wanted her to go to this wedding, I would say ‘no’. I don’t want her to come here and get hurt and she will think that she should be in my position.
No.
I don’t want her to interfere with my wedding. I was afraid that she might suddenly come and stop Hugo and me from getting married. What if at our wedding she made trouble and there she will admit that she was Soleil and I hid everything? What if she says that her name is not Clara but Soleil? What would I do if Hugo suddenly stopped the wedding?
I was brought back to my mind when Aunt Julia suddenly snapped her fingers at my face. My deep thought came back to reality. I looked at her curiously.
“The wedding is about to begin. Get ready.” She adjusted the tail of my wedding gown. She will take me to Hugo later because I no longer have a father and she is my only guardian.
We waited a few more minutes, and we already heard knocking. Just as the door opened, many photographers and videographers were waiting. I just walk slowly because that’s what the videographer is pointing out to me. There is no one behind me, so I think the outcome of the video is good.
When I got down, I saw a lot of people. Maybe it’s because Hugo’s world revolves around business as well as his parent’s, so it’s not surprising that there are so many visitors. Everyone looks rich. When I saw father I saw Hugo at the end. A stylish and classic pompadour haircut always works and looks very elegant with a navy suit and boutonniere decorations on his chest.
As I was about to walk towards him, I saw Soleil. I saw her by the sea while looking badly at me. Now she is no longer wearing the hijab. The face that burned is obvious. No one notices her but me.
When I got close to Hugo, I saw her approaching. My heartbeat suddenly increased in fear that she might do something bad.
But she did nothing. She just stepped beside Aunt Julia and no one noticed her. Even when we are already in front to swear, she did nothing that worried me more.
