“AVA”
“WINTER!”
I could hear our voices all across the supermarket. We both had our lips covered. She leaped for delight out of nowhere. While I was simply grinning. It has never occurred to me it has been too long since I last spoke with her.
Turstin’s kid started crying just as we were about to enquire how our lives were doing. They had been battling for a long time before finally getting together. Randle and Randall were both staring at Turstin when I looked at them. You can tell they’re father and son just by looking at them. Then I was asked whether I was ready to welcome Randall into our life again. What about Charlotte and mommy Amelia?
When Ava touched me and lifted her brow as if she wanted to say something, I came back to myself. I simply laughed and shook my head at what she was doing, since I knew exactly what she was thinking. She assumed Randall, and I were back together. Because of the number of individuals who can obstruct us, this is the one thing I’m not confident of.
“Would you like to stay at our house first so we can talk?” she said, her eyes bright with expectation as if she expected me to say yes.
Randle yawned again and rested his head on his father’s shoulder while I stared at him. We had been outside earlier and the heat was still on, so he was probably hungry. I’ll have to change his diaper as well. I’m merely taking the milk that we’ve been looking for. This is the last brand and box on the shelf.
“Maybe next time. Because Randle needs to rest. If it’s okay with you if you want it will be next week.” I said as I pulled out my phone to enter her number.
“I have her number.”
“Oh.”
Not long after, we went to the counter to pay. When I took out my card to swipe, he suddenly restrained my hand with one of his hands because the other was now holding Randle, who was sleeping.
“I can pay.” I removed his hand that was holding me, but I don’t know when he got his card. His black card. Is he crazy? We only went to the grocery market. Why does he issue a black card?
“I should pay for my child’s necessities.” He said seriously. I was just about to answer what he said when suddenly someone shouted at the other counter.
“Let daddy slash hubby pay the bills. Yahoooo!” I wanted to hide because of what she said. It’s embarrassing because everyone looked at us, even the people who followed our line. The contour of Ava’s tongue still hasn’t changed. She’s still noisy to this day and her mouth has no brakes. Tustin stopped her immediately, but the woman still seemed angry.
Eventually, I had just given up and just sighed. Is there anything I can do? I didn’t want to argue with him over small things.
Because we bought a bit more than we needed. He gave Randle to me so he could handle the plastic bags. He was apprehensive at first about handing Randle over to me, but he ultimately did. What did he think of me? I will run my son away from him again? He already knew Randle was his son.
To be honest, the event moved at a breakneck pace for me. This, I believe, indicates that I never grew up. I couldn’t help but feel weird by the time we got in the car, especially because Randle was sound sleeping and I had no reason to be with him. He spoke in the midst of our quiet. The night is also starting to peek.
He was the one who broke the silence. Since he was with me, I have not heard from him. He only talks when it is necessary. I’m curious whether he talks.
“What cut do you want from my hair?” I turned violently to the side as he inquired, almost getting smacked by the vehicle window. I’m not sure why I did it.
When he abruptly braked the car, I was only hit a second time. Why would he ask such a thing out of nowhere?
“I-I don’t know about you, but it’s your hair, so you decide,” I said, “Randle doesn’t want long hair.” That was the only reason I could think of for him to get a haircut. His long hair suits him, but I still want to see Randall’s face.
As we reached the enormous building’s parking lot, I saw his despair in his demeanor. This is most likely his apartment. I’m not sure why I felt so guilty when I saw his look, but I replied to his question before I went and exited the car with Randle.
“The clean cut is good for you.” I quickly opened the car door and went inside the building but also stopped immediately, remembering that I had just been here and I didn’t know what floor he was on or what his room number was. Given the size of their mansion and the mansion we used to have when we got married, I don’t know why he was settling here.
We went straight to his room, and I left Randle in Randall’s room because I could feel my bladder since I had been peeing excessively. As soon as I set him down, I dashed to the bathroom. When I was done, my gaze was drawn to the side table. When I came closer, I noticed a piece of paper.
Someone quickly grabbed my hand as I read what it was.
