Chapter Thirty-Three – Dared to attack.
Rihanna’s POV
It’s totally valid that Delta Jonah rather die than be with Vanessa but that should only be by quotes, not actions.
I followed behind him boldly, not caring about him seeing me, he didn’t know exactly where I came from and if he did, he wouldn’t tell.
“So, what does this river do exactly? Remove memory?” he dropped his lantern on the river bank and I saw a bottle in his hands.
“Oh, he was trying to get some of the river water?” I smiled. “Ahh, that makes more sense.”
Another myth on the river was that one two lovers tried to drowning themselves because their parents didn’t approve of their love.
They were saved but forgot about each other, it made both parents happy and people began taking the water to forget painful memories.
“But the river had wolfsbane and silver? Is it safe to drink?” I wondered again, while watching Jonah scoop the river water into the bottle.
Well, the person he’d likely give it to will be Vanessa to make sure she wouldn’t remember him, so I didn’t care if it’s safe to drink.
He returned with the bottle in his hands. It was like that was all he came to get. Honestly, I was quite disappointed but I’d let him be.
“If I give Ray this, he should really let her drink everything, I can’t just have a bitch as a mate.” He muttered, walking past me.
Hearing of my brother made me smile sadly, I hadn’t been able to meet up with him for three years and I didn’t want a spy watching him.
No one should see him as my brother till I can show my identity.
With Jonah’s words, I could say Ray was still friends with Jake and will be helping them get rid of Vanessa – as he should.
Low-key, I had kept my ears down to hear of Ray having a mate, but nothing had sufficed. Which was good, for now.
“Your Silver, where are you?” Dara asked sleepily in my mind link.
“Sleep baby girl, I’m good.” I replied, watching the glow of Jonah’s lantern die off. Another energy of wolfs came from my right.
What were these wolfs doing in the middle of the night? I used my wolf vision and realized they were heading towards Jonah.
“Dara, don’t come out. We have visitors!” I ordered.
“Oh, okay. Be careful.” she replied, and switched off the link.
“Red Moon warriors, those jerks! No one else will dare attack a Delta!” I cursed. Using my wolf speed, I ran to where Jonah was.
He seemed lost in his thoughts as he didn’t see me besides him. Then there was a growl and we both snapped our heads behind us.
A brown wolf jumped on me first, but my claw had gone to his neck and I tumbled him down.
“Your Silver!” Jonah shouted, rushing to me but was halted by more warriors.
These were warriors and not hunters this time. Jonah would need help. Red Moon meant business.
I tackled the brown wolf below me but another dived on me. In my human form, I could easily get wounded.
But I prevented from changing because I had no clothes to change to, and Lana was wilder and could hurt Jonah.
She usually fought alone and was conscious around my warriors as they had a scent as someone from her pack. Jonah didn’t.
I slammed the warrior on a wall with such strength I felt his back crack. The brown wolf was no longer moving but still had energy.
My claws dug unto the other warrior’s throat and ripped out his gullet. “None of you are leaving alive.” My eyes glowed orange.
They were three more. Jonah had immobilize two already. “They are only following orders.” He said, not looking at me.
It dawned on me that I didn’t have a mask on but then Jonah had never seen me before so wouldn’t recognize me.
“They choose what orders to follow. They die by their choice.” I seethed, and clawed at the face of the brown wolf, his energy seeped from him.
The others began running but I ran after them.
“Your Silver, stop!” Jonah called after me. The warriors had fear in their eyes knowing I was the silver wolf.
Well, even more reasons they should die, no one should know my face or gender, yet.
By the time Jonah came to me, the last warrior was being held in a chokehold and I slammed him on his own sword.
“I feel useless.” He sighed.
“Wanna be useful? Help clean this up. This place is close to a market and people will flip seeing this much blood.” I noted.
Jonah folded his hands. “What are you doing around here?”
I narrowed my eyes at him, and marched to him, my both hands covered with blood. “Don’t ask, Jonah. I’m Your Silver, I can be anywhere.”
His eyes dilated and his blue eyes became a lighter shade, he tilted his head. “You are a pretty girl, you know.”
Did my cheeks heat up for what he said? I sighed, looking away. He knew my gender and what I looked like. Should I just kill him?
“Maybe, yes. So you won’t feel indebted to him and that feeling turn to love or something worse.” Lana chirped in from no where.
“Shut up!” I said to her, out loud.
Jonah pointed himself and I nodded. “You too!”
He looked confused but it didn’t matter. “Don’t tell you saw a pretty silver wolf around here. Won’t be nice for you who just found his mate.”
His facial expressions changed. And I smirked knowing I annoyed him. “I’d be on my way, you owe me one for saving you.”
He corrected immediately. “You helped with the warriors not save me. I can’t believe they tried to kill me after the Alpha King found them guilty.”
“And now, you can’t complain to the Alpha King because you insulted his sister, you aren’t the luckiest guy in the world now.” I teased.
He exhaled, looking down. “Why have a spy in the palace of Black Hills? Is it necessary?”
I shrugged. It was Camilla’s connection but I benefited as I never heard that Ray got badly injured. “It is necessary. Ask less questions.”
He nodded. “I don’t have the time to ask more. Thanks for the help, I’d be take my leave.”
I wasn’t telling him to leave and felt guilty for insinuating that but I asked again. “Where did you leave Jake Justin at?”
“He felt tired from eating too much, and this place is very cold. I also needed some of this water.” He raised the bottle of the river water.
“Hmm, have fun then. I’d keep on watching if I’d see anymore wolf to kill.” I smirked, turning and moving away.
“Be careful though.” He said as I left.
To be careful? I should tell him that. He was the one closer to a pack that wanted him dead, alone in the night.
“You be careful, I am Your Silver.” I tsked. And I lived here so all trees were familiar.
“It doesn’t make up all powerful.” He used the same line as when we first met. “And are you still thinking of saving that Lycan?”
I was disappointed, he thought Your Silver, as a man, was fearless but as a woman, wasn’t all powerful?
“None of your business, bye, Jonah.” I walked away.
“What did I say wrong?” I heard him mumble. I shook my head, boys will always be boys.
