Chapter Twelve – Dispensable
Rihanna’s POV
Stubborn goats. Goats could even be tamed. I glared at the two young girls in front of me with disdain and regret.
Why didn’t I leave them to be shredded by the Black Rose warriors when they tried twice to attack them?
“Camilla and Beatrice?” I called them. Camilla raised her head but Beatrice still looked down fuming with anger and blood thirst.
“This is the last time my silver wolf and I are going to risk ourselves to save you two asses. I had said, leave the Black Rose Pack alone!”
Beatrice revolted. “They killed our team!”
“You were trying to kill their Delta!” Dara roared back. Beatrice advanced to her but she stood her ground, staring at her in the eyes.
“You and your hunters dared attack a pack, you should know you stand no chance!” Dara ranted on.
Camilla pulled Beatrice back and they both looked up to me, like two dogs being scolded for breaking a vase. An expensive vase.
“You two should never play such expensive game again. I am under cover here and shouldn’t be rushing into that pack!” I pointed at them.
“If for anything, for any revenge, we needed to build a lair. Gather as many warriors we’d find and form a fortress. Not mindless attacks.”
Dara came forward as I shared the last idea. “I know a hidden fortress, it was supposed to be the hiding place of my clan.”
“And last I knew your clan is dead so it wasn’t hidden enough.” Beatrice smirked, glaring at Dara.
Camilla nudged her and she looked away.
“Yes, we never got there. It was far and those warriors caught unto us. Warriors from your pack!” Dara fumed, glaring at Beatrice.
Beatrice glared back at her and a sigh escaped my lips. When two enemies see themselves in a similar situation.
Would they work together or no? Dara and Beatrice were examples.
I still couldn’t wrap my head around why Red Moon would send hunters to silence a Black Rose Delta, inside his own pack.
Who’d imagine these powerful packs had conflict between them? Petty conflicts, as they sent mere hunters not warriors to do the job.
“I think I know what’d we do? Dara, how far is the fortress from here?”
She smiled, seeing I was buying her idea. “It’s south of the Red Moon pack but can’t ever be seen, trust me.”
Beatrice and Camilla rolled their eyes in unison.
“That can work. As long as it’s far from the Black Rose Pack.” I exhaled, packing my items into my bag.
I didn’t want any of them seeing me. Ray was close to Jake Justin and I didn’t want him knowing my status. It was better that way.
Also, I’d be really embarrassed to meet Jake Justin as a homeless rogue girl, crying cos she was rejected by her mate. I recovered from that.
It was better all these packs saw me as Your Silver first before Rihanna. It was also good that some rumors have made it that I’m male. Funny.
“Are we going to be dropping our revenge on Black Rose Pack and heading to a dirty fortress?” Beatrice broke my thoughts.
Both Dara and Camilla who were packing as well, paused and looked up at her.
“Well, yes. We’re rogues, we can’t be around such a pack that is known for killing rogues. We need a safe spot.” I answered.
She scoffed and it made me offended, why was she revolting? I saved her ass, what else did she want to do now?
“I can’t run away from a fight, you can if you want. Black Rose killed my team, my leader. I can’t back off, you shouldn’t too, Camilla.”
Camilla didn’t respond and continued packing the things in the bag with Dara, Dara continued with her.
“I guess you won’t then? Fine. I’d like to see the face you’d use to return to our Alpha, or would you even return?” Beatrice sighed.
I stomped to my feet. “Girl, you want to leave? Leave! I was at the death of your leader and he said he can’t return till the mission was done.”
Her eyes widened. “You saw our leader? He was injured, did you save him?” she asked. Camilla also wanted to know.
I shook my head. “He was dispirited and thought he lost everything. He killed himself, but that’s fair.”
Beatrice clenched her fists. “Fair? You are a freaking silver wolf! How couldn’t you be able to save him and you say it’s fair!”
Dara jumped from where she had stoop packing her items. “Don’t you dare yell at her! She saved your ass! Your leader was wasted already!”
Camilla turned to her and landed a slap to her face. “That’s my brother you’re talking about there!” her eyes were watery.
I shook my hands anticipating a fight but Dara only wiped her face and made a painful laugh.
“So should I should pity you? Your warriors killed my brother too, father, cousins. My sisters and people are slaves. Should I pity you?”
I looked back at her as the pain coursed through her and into me. I couldn’t live out the guilt of not interfering but I knew I wasn’t strong enough.
“Well, why didn’t your silver wolf stop them? Why didn’t…!”
I slammed Beatrice to the walls and she fell, shutting up. She scurried, moving back, Camilla and Dara moved back as well.
My eyes were flaming orange. It wasn’t an ideal time to unlock Beta mode but Beatrice was asking for it.
“You’re a Beta?” Dara muttered.
I pointed at Beatrice. “If you want to walk away? The f*ck do! Don’t try to frustrate me! Do you think you’d have survived if you return!”
I finally understood why Red Moon sent hunters – they were dispensable.
“Your Alpha would have killed you to hide the truth. You wouldn’t have been honored men but some lies will be put on you.” I barked at her.
All the while she was head down. Perhaps she realized her mistakes or my Beta aura subdued her.
“I’d repeat, if you want to leave, leave. But I am a silver wolf and would fulfill my prophecy, with or without you. I don’t need shits!” I spelled out.
She flinched as I spoke.
I turned to Dara and Camilla and they went back. “We would go to that fortress and make a base. First, we’d recruit hunters and omegas.”
Dara nodded and hurriedly packed the hags.
“Then, we’d stop those slaves posts. Camilla, you’d know where it’s from, don’t you?”
She grinned and made a small nod. “I’d take you there at night. It’s really a horrible place.”
Dara came forward with the bags.
“You’d tear the packs inside out and they won’t know what hit them, only the painful burn of silver will remain.”
I nodded to affirm her words. The hopes on me had to fulfilled.
Beatrice rose from the ground behind me. “I’m sorry. I just need to avenge my innocent team that was used by my Alpha.” She said.
Camilla came forward with her bags and Beatrice’s. I hung mine and handed Beatrice hers. “And they will be avenged.”
