This was not the first time Leslie had been to the hospital.
Only this time, she was more scared than ever before. She felt more overwhelmed.
As the door of the operating room closed, Leslie could barely lean on the door outside the surgery.
She wanted to hear the status inside the operating room, but she could hear nothing.
Leslie still remembered the way he was carried out of the ambulance. He did not move with oxygen masks on his body.
Fear burst out for no reason.
Could it be that he had died inside?
Suddenly the door opened and the doctor in a white coat, looking awe-inspiring, came out.
How could the doctor come out of the surgery when the surgery hadn’t even been an hour?
Could it be?
Leslie could not suppress her fear.
Her legs started to get weak and she couldn’t even stand up.
“Is the patient’s family here?”
Leslie put her hands on her aching chest, speaking with trembling, “Is he going to be dead?”
“The person is not dead yet. The patient received a serious impact on his waist. Now we need to do a kidney replacement operation. But the patient’s blood type is special. It is difficult to find people who can match his blood in such a short time. You are still in mourning. Let the family prepare for the aftermath.”
The patient, the richest man in City A, was only 30 years old. Christopher may die here soon. What a pity!
“I can match her blood!”
Leslie grabbed the doctor’s hand hurriedly.
“I can match him! My blood is the same as his. Take me in, I’m not afraid. I’m willing to donate my blood to him.”
Leslie said anxiously.
Before she was married to Christopher, she finished all the examinations of her whole body according to the rules of the Loomis family. And the blood type and some organ examination data of the Loomis family were detailed registered.
At that time she went for a checkup and found their data in a perfect match.
She was incredibly happy and felt they were a perfect couple.
She didn’t expect that the perfect match could be useful today. She may save Christopher’s life.
The surgery consent form was delivered to Leslie quickly. She wrote her name on it without any hesitation.
When she was pushed into the operating room, she saw Christopher lying next to her. His eyes were closed tightly and he was covered in blood. But his face was still handsome and full of charm.
He was still young with a bright future. He should not dead here in this way.
The surgery lasted for 8 hours. All the doctors were exhausted after the surgery.
Leslie woke up and struggled to get up. She didn’t know if the surgery was successful or not.
She was afraid that Christopher died during the operating.
Leslie, regardless of the needles still inserted in her hands, tried to pull them out and get out of bed. Then the wound on her back waist reopened.
She collapsed back into bed in pain.
She hated her weak so much.
She hated that her body had no strength at all.
“What are you doing? You are so weak. Don’t toss and turn yourself!”
When the nurse came in for morning rounds, she was scared by Leslie. She rushed over to pull her hands and reinsert the needle.
Leslie said pleadingly, “Nurse, where is the male patient? It is the patient who was lying in the operating room with me.”
Leslie saw no sign of the man in the ward. She was afraid that she would never see him again.
The nurse took her hands and admonished repeatedly, “Why don’t you care for yourself at all? Look at your hands. They are all swollen up. How you still care about others now?”
“Nurse, please tell me, where did he go?”
“All right, you are so anxious. He’s in the ICU for continued observation. But the surgery was successful. He has no life-threatening for now. His good health before will make him much stronger than the average person after he recovered.”
When she heard the doctor’s words, she felt relaxed just like a huge stone was released in her heart.
At that moment there was a violent crash outside the ward.
Phoenix rushed to the ward regardless of the nurse’s obstruction.
He was distressed to see Leslie’s haggard.
“I heard that you donated your blood for that scum?”
Phoenix’s eyes were more jealous than angry.
He was jealous of Leslie’s kindness to Christopher. He also hated himself for not knowing Leslie earlier.
“Yes. If it wasn’t for saving me, he wouldn’t have been hit by a car. I had to save him.”
Leslie explained patiently. But she admitted that she would be willing to donate her blood even if this accident wasn’t for her.
“Phoenix, Uncle, and Auntie are fine, right? I’m sure they’re very angry about what happened yesterday, so you’d better go back and comfort them first.”
A flash of guilt welled up in Phoenix’s heart. He had gone home yesterday and had talked to his parents for a long time. But his parents only gave him two ways. Break up with Leslie, or cut off personal relations with his family.
But neither of these two roads he wanted.
When Leslie saw her awkwardly, she could guess the attitude of Phoenix’s parents.
“Phoenix, apologize properly to your parents. If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t be in such a dilemma.”
“What do you mean? You want to break up with me?”
Phoenix grabbed her arms and looked at her in shock.
He felt an intense crisis full of desolation.
Leslie took a deep breath and sighed, “Yes. Phoenix, let’s break up.”
“It’s for him!”
She didn’t want to lie and hurt him.
She owed him a lot in the past three years.
“Yes. I admit. I can’t get him out of my mind. Am I useless?”
Leslie put her hands on her mouth. She felt too sad to cry.
Phoenix laughed heartlessly and said.
“Don’t think like that. I will respect your choices. But don’t worry, if he dares to treat you like that again, you could return to my home.”
He turned around, controlling his emotions, “I have other things to deal with. I should go.”
Phoenix loved Leslie deeply. But if his love is a prison or torture for her, he would choose to let her go.
In the past three years, Leslie had never got real happiness.
He understood that this woman’s heart had always been loaded with a man. But the man was not him, but another man.
The door of the room was closed and she rested for a long time.
A familiar voice rang out beside her, “Leslie.”
She heard someone called her name. She opened her eyes, only to see a familiar handsome face.
He hugged her, kissing her cheek, “This time, I’ll never let you go again.”
Leslie did not refuse him and just let him hug her.
