Benjamin arrived in his room. Almost fully healed from the wounds of Alpha Jax. For some reason, the wounds were healing faster than they should. He remembers the first time he had injuries from the Alpha. It was after he was first taken away from his Mate. Shane had been disappointed. Benjamin saw him break down, and he started crying too. He tried to run back to him, but Alpha Jax ran before him. He gave him a hard punch, and he fell nearly unconscious. The injury he sustained then, took a long time to heal. And other times that he sustained injuries from the Alpha’s, they took time to heal. But this one was healing really fast. He does not know why. It could be either he has grown a little bit of immunity to Alpha Jax’s injuries. And the injuries gotten from an Alpha will no longer be fatal for him.
He did not care so much about that one. He was glad that what happened today happened. He is sure Ava would have more reasons to hate the Alpha. She would have to consider him. He smiled at the idea of him being her lover. So he could figure out whatever is between them. And this also confirmed that there is something between both of them that either Alpha Jax is trying to deny or Ava does not know about.
Benjamin is the one who always treats and groom his sex slaves before sex. He has seen them in total nakedness. He had groomed them. Touched their breasts. At times playfully, he might pinch their nipples or rub their clits just to tease them, but he never goes beyond that. He had never tried such with Ava. He only held her arm, and was trying to comfort her before Alpha Jax came in.
“And that’s what I call the perfect luck,” his wolf whispered within him.
“Why do you say such?”
“See? Don’t you see how things are falling in place? You are trying to shield her from the horror he created. But he came in and created more horror!” His wolf chuckled. Benjamin did not see the pattern before, but he knew he could make use of this opportunity to incite more hatred towards Jax and make her feel gratitude and remorse towards him. Feelings that with time, they would develop into love.
“Now! The next thing you are going to do is write her a letter!” The wolf said.
“What letter?”
“Dear Ava, I am sorry you had to see such an act of violence perpetrated before you. I believe that no one needs to be on the receiving end of Alpha Jax’s hatred. But I am fine. This is not the first time I am being hit by him. I will be fine.
I am writing this letter to check on you. I hope you are fine. I could have connected with you telepathically, but I fear he would have disrupted every mode of conversation. He has access to all of our souls, and could hear what message we receive through our minds. And since I can’t message you in my mind, I am writing this.
Please for the sake of your safety, don’t try to fight against him. Be careful with what you do. I know you must be scared right now, but please be careful. Do not say bad words to him. It will only get worse for you. You are a damsel, and you deserve more care than that. Protect yourself and you will receive it.”
Ava read the letter sent by Benjamin. She was moved to tears. She dropped on her bed and cried more. She prayed to the moon goddess to please watch over her mother and Benjamin. She prayed that the goddess would stop punishing them, and for once will let them have peace of mind.
Lily has not seen her brother since she woke up. The first thing she did this morning was go into Ava’s room. She wanted to go and assure Ava some sort of security and peace of mind. She showed her support and tried the best she could. Ava already gained some confidence and Lily believed the next course of action will be Ava, acting with care towards Jax.
She heads towards Jax’s office so maybe she can see him. She heard he already returned from whatever journey he went this morning. She did not bother to knock on his door. She opened the door immediately and she saw him taking a sip from a bottle. He hid it immediately when she came in. She saw him wince and gasp for air. Then he let out a heavy sigh. For a couple of seconds, he breathes heavily.
“What is that?” She asked, walking closer to him.
“What is what? You barge into my ro like you own the place, and you are asking me what is that? How is it your business what I do?” He screamed at her.
“Jax! What are you hiding?” She asked again, ignoring the comments he made about her coming into his room. She walked towards him and tried to grab his hand. She intended on looking at it to know what her brother had to hide from her. She knows Jax, he lives like he has no care in the world, and would not hide anything from anyone. And for him to hide this, it means it has to be something very horrible.
“Sister! Can you leave my room?” He asked her.
“Jax! Listen to me, I have seen you done a lot of things, but hiding things is not one of them. You do not mind who sees what you do. So please let me see what that is,” she said. She fears he might be taking something poisonous or evil. She knew no human poison could work on him. Drugs won’t have the effect they should, and alcohol will just seem like an average juice to him. So she wonders what it could be. And she is hell bent on finding out whatever it is.
“Can you leave my room?” He screamed at her. She did not move an inch or felt threatened by him. He stood before her with his eyes wide open and sweats all over him. She waited for a minute. She knew no head front confrontation could make him show her what it is. She turned around and left.
Just outside his door, she heard him growl loudly. She nodded her head in disappointment of what her brother was, and she left.
