“Jax!” Lily called her little brother in his office. She barged into his office without any respect for his privacy. She saw him hurriedly trying to hide something.
“What is it?” He spoke in a slurred tone.
“I came to tell you that mother is coming,” she announced.
“What?”
“Yes! Mother is coming and she is so close to the pack,” Lily informed him.
“Why? Why would she leave where she is? And since when has she told you? Why are you just telling me now?” He asked aggressively. His slurred voice began clearing. He began speaking normally like he used to. He had an angry expression on him.
“She told me a few minutes ago, and you are welcome. I have come to tell you, so you can have your shit organized together!” She replied to him furiously.
“Fuck! Fucking hell? Why would she come here?” Jax panicked. He and his sister do not agree on so many things. He is even one of the reasons why she has refused to get married. She usually says she isn’t married because she is trying to protect him, but she is scared of being treated the way her brother treats other girls. She tried helping some of them. But they always go wrong. Either they were as dumb as the bitch Ava or as unfortunate as being caught while escaping. His ways of treating ladies is another thing they do not agree on.
But when it comes to the trouble their mother might bring while coming, both of them agree that it’s best avoided. She is not one who will tolerate the way Jax hoes around. She accepted one or two sex slaves but she still needed him to find a mate. And that’s why she is coming. To encourage Jax to find a mate.
“Listen, I think she wants to discuss your interest in finding a mate. And since you clearly don’t have one, we need to clear all these toys of yours. Mother won’t find it interesting.”
“I know. I know and I don’t know what to do,” Jax stood up from his seat and moved around the room.
“Wait! What’s that on your shirt?” She asked him.
“What’s what?” He looked down on his shirt trying to find what she was talking about. She moved closer to him. She tried touching it but he waved her hand away. She tried inhaling it, but he masked the odor by quickly pressing the air freshener on his table.
“Is that what I think it is?”
“What do you think it is? What you think doesn’t even matter. What matters is you need to help me talk to Nape to hide all of them. They should leave for now. Ava! Let me talk to Benjamin,” he called Benjamin through his mind-link and asked him to bring Ava to him. Benjamin said he was coming.
“See? I will go to Nape and tell her to leave with other of your toys. Keep this Ava that you suddenly became interested in with you, there is no need to see two slaves else she will see through us,” Lily advised.
Jax does not think having Ava around is a good advice but he dare not argue for now. He accepted her verdict and asked her to leave. Immediately she left, Benjamin came in.
It was hours ago when Benjamin came in. He came to defend Ava. He talked about how weak she is. Jax didn’t care. He threatened Benjamin but he let him leave. Now Jax is before his mother. The former Luna. Her grace still oozes. She has been sent to the temple of the goddess for former Lunas who don’t want to remarry.
“Welcome mother. How are you doing?” Jax smiled at her. Her all white dress reminds him of how colorful she used to like her dress. His strong resilient mother could not fight fate. Now she is stuck with wearing either all white or all black.
“Well, I am doing as good as a mother without a grandchild will do. Now both of you wake out of your nonsense and tell me what’s going on here?” She said, Both of them looked at each other. Just typical of their mother.
“Mother! You know I can’t leave Jax for now,” Lily defended herself.
“Spare me that bullshit. What are you? His mother? Listen girl, you should better get yourself a good man. I don’t even care if he is good or not. Just get married and get. E children!” She screamed at Lily.
“And you?” She turned to Jax. “What do you think you are? An omega? Or a teenage alpha? You think you are Scott McCall and you don’t need to get a mate?”
“Mother! You know what it is!” He said.
“What is it?”
“You know of my experience with women. You know how hard it was on me.” He said seeking empathy from her.
“Quit yapping! You don’t want to get over the heartbreak of how many years ago? Now man up and get a mate. You know what? I have given you enough time to decide. I intended on going to ally packs and asking for their daughters as a mate. You will have to create a mate for yourself, till you see the heaven bound one,” she said. Jax looked at his sister. Then he returned his gaze to his mother.
He will not accept any woman as his mate. He is going to keep using them just the way he has been using them. They are toys and slaves meant to be used. There is no use in falling in love with them. They are not a blessing as they are expected to be. Not especially with what he experienced, should his mother expect him to have a wife. Did she forget that she lost a son to it? Her eldest son. Her eldest son became a victim of a woman’s plot.
“Uhm! Mother, about ally packs, I think you might be a little bit disappointed that we have few,” Lily said, giving an apologetic look to her brother.
