Chapter 21 Bitching About Ava

Book:Alpha's Puppet  Published:2024-5-1

Alpha Jax grabbed his keys, suddenly annoyed with the energy he was getting around his pack. Maybe, heading to the human whorehouse would give him some reprieve? He tried not to go there all the time, but he really had to this time. It was important he unwind with people who weren’t of his kind.
He shut his door behind him, and informed Benjamin through the link to do as he had instructed him. There was no signal from Benjamin and that made him frown as he walked out of the pack-house. Benjamin never ignored his calls no matter what happened. He would have to talk to him when he got back. This shouldn’t be a norm for him as a head slave.
He pressed a button on his keyhole, and his car doors slid upwards in response. Technology was completely perfect most of the time. Humans actually got some things right, he must say.
“Alpha, I’m glad you’re still here,” Benjamin gushed out as he stood behind Alpha Jax.
Alpha Jax got into the car, resting a foot on its compartment. “Get into the car,” He said simply.
Benjamin grinned wildly, as he entered the car. Alpha Jax circled something under the hood of the car, and the car slid lock, turning the interior a red-shimmering glow. He punched some buttons on the steering wheel, and the car booted to life. Carefully, he drove out of the parking lot, giving some instructions to the guards.
“Why didn’t you respond to me when I mind-linked you?” He asked Benjamin.
Benjamin sighed. “I’m sorry, Alpha. Ava sort of delayed me,” He said with a frown.
Alpha Jax glared at him. “No excuses,” He snapped.
Benjamin nodded fiercely. “No excuses.”
They drove into the busy streets, and were able to glimpse a couple of humans moving around their businesses. Some were actually waving, like Alpha Jax would actually respond to them. He found it absolutely ridiculous and thirsty. These people obviously haven’t realized they were absolutely nothing to him.
“Tell me, have you successfully bonded with her?” He asked Benjamin.
Benjamin grabbed a chocolate bar in the basket attached to the door handle. He unwrapped it, as he glared at the chocolate like it was Ava. “God knows I tried, but I just couldn’t. Her utterances annoyed me so much,” He explained.
Alpha Jax frowned slightly. He gave Benjamin a sideways look. The man was chewing slowly, cleaning his lips like a girl. It was what he liked about Benjamin. The way he could switch from male to female in a heartbeat and look completely irresistible had always been his undoing. But, at the moment, he was a bit annoyed with him.
“Now, don’t make such flimsy excuses. What did she say?”
“Well, she didn’t sleep with you last night which means that she was awful to you, and doesn’t deserve any form of attention. I think we should just kick her out.” Benjamin said fiercely.
Alpha Jax steered his car in between a Volkswagen and a Benz, then killed the engine in one swipe. He turned his attention to Benjamin, his eyes shooting daggers across.
“She said what?” He snapped annoyed.
Benjamin tossed the wrapper away, and sighed. “She said she didn’t sleep with you.”
Alpha Jax cursed fluidly. “And, you sat down there and listened to her bitch about me? Or, you probably joined too, just to be in her good points,” He said with each word dripping venom.
“Of course, not. Alpha, I owe you my alliance, and I would never indulge in petty gossip. That girl will stop at nothing to make you look bad in the eyes of people, that’s why I’m suggesting that you send her away or things may become much worse,” He said as he bowed low.
Alpha Jax used his index finger to raise his chin up. “You don’t tell me what to do. I handle it on my own accord.” He snapped.
“Yes, Alpha,” Benjamin mumbled submissively.
Alpha Jax pulled away, then stepped out of the car with a blazing record, almost forgetting he was in human territory. Rage sometimes messed with his thinking process and that was evident in how he reacted. Benjamin, on the other hand, took his time getting out of the car. He balanced his feet on the high heeled boots he had on, while looking at Alpha Jax with worry filled eyes.
“Let’s get in that pub,” Alpha Jax mumbled.
They walked side by side, creating a forceful sense of unity. Alpha Jax moved slightly slower than before, as if he was trying to fit Benjamin’s movements. He was slightly aware that they were pulling attention from the crowd. Some people were unabashedly staring at them.
Benjamin actually waved to them, like he was a sort of celebrity. Some people giggled, and a few waved back. He smiled lightly, though he still felt sad he couldn’t please his Alpha like he normally did. It was obviously Ava’s fault. She was the one who had stuck an evil eye on his clothes.
They got into the building, and the bouncers fought among themselves to open the door for the Alpha. It was always like this, no matter how many times they’d come to this place. Benjamin pressed a Button on the elevator, and they stepped inside. The elevator took them to the top floor.
Alpha Jax barely paid attention to his surroundings. He went directly to the bar, and offered a bottle of smooch and cinnamon to spice up his night. The feminine bartender grinned cheekily at him, as she mixed his poison.
Benjamin hadn’t said a word. And, it was almost as if he hadn’t come in with the Alpha. He tried to grab the girl’s attention once more, but she wasn’t paying attention to him.
“Relax,” Alpha Jax said simply.
Benjamin stopped trying, and did as he was told. He sat on the high stool, tapping his hands on his thigh like it was a drum.
“You know, I’m never letting Ana go. She would be under me till I’m bored. And, I’m sure that won’t be happening.” Alpha Jax mumbled. The bartender brought his drink. “Get pineapple Vodka for my guest.”
She nodded once more, and then went over to mix it.
“I only need you to do one thing, befriend her. If she thinks she has a friend in this place, she would find it easier to adjust, and satisfy my carnal knowledge.” He said tersely.
Tipping his head to the side, Benjamin said, “As you wish.”
