Book:Daddy's Girl Published:2024-5-1

Anna has been receiving death threats at work. She didn’t know where they came from or who sent these nasty messages to her. It made her question what had she been doing wrong to receive these types of messages. She never killed, harmed, or harassed anyone. She never lied, cheated, stole, or treated anyone poorly. It made her fear for her life. Just reading these messages made her throw up.
“You think you’re so perfect? The only reason why you still have this job is because you are sucking and fucking the boss. You’re nothing but a prostitute and I don’t respect them at all. I don’t respect you, bitch!”
That message was sadly the most sane and least threatening message of them all. It was still disrespectful, creepy, and degrading. That one did made her cry, since she could not believe that someone would consider her a prostitute for sleeping with the boss. It was not like he was paying her for sex. Even if she was a prostitute, it was none of that person’s business on what she did with her private life. But that was just the calm before the storm, the rest are down right sickening.
“Since you love giving your body away to other men, how about you give your body up to me? If not, I will slice you up to little pieces.”
That message was disgusting. It was insinuating rape, which was disturbing. Anna knew people in her life both men and women that were raped. She did not want to suffer the same horrible experience they faced in their lives. Allen wasn’t the only man she gave her body away to but among all he was the best. That was because he actually cared about her and showed her a lot of love and compassion.
It was her choice to sleep with Allen. No one had control over her body or her decisions. It was her body and her choice, she chose to have sex with Allen and no one else.
“I know where you live. When you’re asleep, I will make you never wake up again. Sleep tight!”
That message put shivers down her spine. Who would say such things to her? Why was she receiving so much hate, animosity, and threats? These people were acting like she was the devil reincarnated.
Not only these death threats are scary, but they hurt a lot. She could not escape these death threats. They were everywhere from her home to work. She could not think straight, eat properly, relax, play basketball, or work.
Speaking of work, she realized that all the employees were not happy to see her. Everyone was giving her the stink eye, looking at her with disgust. Even people she thought she was cool with ignored her like she was a stranger.
Ever since she resumed her job, she received death threats and the employees looked like they hated her. She speculated if those employees were the ones behind those gross and disturbing messages. She wanted it to be not true since she had respect for her employees, but she was not getting the same respect back.
She was asking the question, what did she do to deserve all this hate? Especially to her employees, she was wondering why did they hate on her. She could understand if one or maybe three people did not like her. It was pretty common for some employees to not like one another. But having four or more people hate you at your workplace, that was a warning sign.
It was heartbreaking to know that all the employees hated her. She thought that they would at least show her some support after receiving death threats. But none of them did not care and she still thought that they were behind those messages.
The worst part was that she was lost on who started all this hatred towards her. If she would have known who started all this, she would have had a conversation with that person and tried to work things out. Probably, she would have gotten that person fired for making every employee hate her and sending disgusting death threats.
Anna could have went that far to even sue the entire company for emotional distress, death threats, and defamation. But she would not do that because she loved Allen and she did not want to ruin his reputation. Plus, she knew he was not behind any of this. Why would he? He was the boss and why would he worry about making all of his employees hate on her? Any boss would just fire that person. He would not risk being behind those disgusting messages unless he was asking to be sued.
But the most important question to her was how was she going to tell Allen about all this? It was overwhelming for her, but this would make him lose his mind. She decided to not tell him about the letters, so that he would not worry.
All this thinking, drama, and hatred was hurting her brain and soul. Right now, she wanted to quit her job. If the staff hate her that much, what was even the point of continuing working in such a toxic and hateful environment?
But Anna remembered that they planned that she would resign a week to her first game which was still two months away. These were going to be the most grueling two months she ever worked for. Time moves so slowly whenever a terrible or uncomfortable situation happens.
Anna just hopes that nothing terrible happens to her. Those death threats were serious and made her shook. She never felt scared in her life. It was crazy how things changed for the worse. She thought working for this company would be a pleasant experience. But it turned into a nightmare that she can not escape from.
All Anna had to do was survive and do not let anyone bring her down. That was easy for her to think about, but to execute it was far from it. She was scared to her boots and had no idea what to do. She felt like an animal in a cage.
But she will fake being happy around Allen, so that he does not get worried about her or this terrible situation she was in. No matter how hard she tried to hide her unhappiness, Allen sensed her discomfort. That smile was so fake that a blind man would have saw it. He has been around a lot of people to read and understand their eye contact and body language. Sometimes his thoughts can deceive him, but the way Anna was carrying herself, she was not in a good mental state.
He wanted to know what was going on with her. He was not just thinking this as her boyfriend and boss, but he genuinely cared for her. He did not want her to fake smiles and have dark feelings. That was not the Anna he knew and loved. So he needed to get to the bottom of this before things turned for the worse for her.
“Anna, could you please come to my office?” He asked on the intercom. She came to his office, she was still faking her smile. It did anger him, but he did not want to make her feel bad than she was already feeling. All he wanted was what was going on with her and why she felt this way? Also, what she wanted him to do to fix this solution?
“Yes, sir?” She asked, curious to know what he was going to ask or tell her. Hopefully, it was some good news to cheer her up because she really needed that. She did not want to hear any more terrible news that would make her cry or fear for her life.
“I wanted to know, how are you feeling?” He asked.
“Oh”, she wasn’t expecting that question. Anna thought he was going to ask her something important. It was nice that he wanted to know how she was feeling. He was treating her better than all of the employees. But she was expecting that since he was the boss and they were dating. He was waiting for an response. Anna didn’t want to tell him how she was truly feeling, she did not want him to worry or bring more stress in his life. So she had to lie, sadly.
“I’m doing good” she said with the biggest smile ever. He sighed.
“Look, I’m not going to beat around the bush. I know that you’re not doing good. You have a fake smile and I saw you feeling scared and sad. I know when you’re feeling happy and sad. So please, tell me what’s going on?” He genuinely asked.
“I’m sorry, Allen. I need to go back to work, I have not completed my tasks for today.” She lied once again, leaving his office. He was disappointed that she did not tell the truth to him. But he knew that she was uncomfortable, so there was no use continuing to press her. One day, he will find out what was happening with her. Praying that she was safe and sound.
