The following day, Robin asked Elise for more details. He was told Gordon was still sick at home. As long as he wasn’t in the company, Elise wouldn’t be able to return to be the chairwoman of the board.
“Gordon Houry is such a bore.”
Robin sat in the security room with another two security guards. They were working hard. However, since they were newly hired, neither knew anything about Wallace’s incident.
“Here comes a beauty,” a security guard suddenly exclaimed, pointing at a woman outside.
“Whoa! She’s hot. I love her look,” the other security guard echoed.
Robin didn’t care. Closing his eyes, he sat in the chair for a rest. Suddenly, he heard a voice before him. “Robin Bailey, I want to talk to you.”
Robin recognized it was Miranda.
He opened his eyes. Her waist-length curly hair hung over, and she put on light makeup. The business suit on her body fully showed her curved face.
After all, the public image of the PR manager was necessary for a company.
“What do you want?” Robin frowned.
He wasn’t interested in any woman except for Elise.
“Change your uniform. Wait for me in the cafe over there.”
Miranda pointed at a coffee shop across the street arrogantly.
Before Robin responded, she returned to her office to get changed. She only wore the suit during working hours, but she would talk about something private with Robin.
“Robin, you lucky bastard. She’s the manager of the PR department, the most charming woman in our company. She’ll treat you to dinner,” a plain-look security guard remarked excitedly with a silly smile.
The other one echoed, “She’s so hot.”
“Don’t you think she’s hateful?” Robin asked.
“Oh! Come on. She’s the most beautiful woman in our company. How could she be hateful?” the other two security guards retorted.
“All right.”
Robin ignored them. They had seldom talked to Miranda, so neither knew what kind of woman she was. Honestly speaking, Miranda had done those things to protect Elise.
Robin leaned against his chair and returned to take a nap as he was taking a break.
The other new security guards were on duty.
Ten minutes later, Miranda changed her clothes and left the company. When she bypassed the security room, she saw Robin still in uniform. Frowning, she yelled, “Hey! Didn’t I ask you to change your uniform?”
“Don’t you know my name?”
Robin even didn’t want to open his eyes.
“You! All right. Robin Bailey, didn’t I ask you to change your uniform? Why are you still here?”
Miranda was so angry that her chest heaved up and down fiercely, but she repressed it.
“It’s five to six o’clock now. I’m still on duty. How can I leave my position? Besides, Miranda Levis, you knocked off earlier. You should obey the company’s rules.”
Robin gradually opened his eyes.
“Mind you. You are just a security guard. How dare you mind my business! Obey the company’s rules? Think you are the owner of the Robin-Sophia Group? Think you are the chairman of the board? How arrogant!”
Angry flames surged in her eyes.
The newly promoted security leader bypassed the office, nodding his head. ‘Ms. Levis, you are right. He’s the owner of this company. Mr. Jordan even showed his respect to Robin.
Later, he reminded all the security guards to keep it secret.
From then on, they all knew Robin was the company’s owner. Although he wasn’t the president, he was superior to Mr. Jordan. They guessed Robin might be the chairman of the board, owning the company.
The last security leader offended him and was fired. Of course, the newly promoted one wouldn’t repeat the same mistake. He hurriedly walked to Miranda and said sternly, “Ms. Levis, I agree with him. Even though you left five minutes earlier, you broke the rules. I’ll report you.”
“You!”
Miranda glared at the newly promoted security leader in anger. Inwardly, she blamed him for being nosy.
The previous security leader was more sensible.
However, she didn’t know why he had been fired. She asked Jim about it but got no answer.
Looking at her, the new security leader shook his head slightly. In amusement, he said inwardly, ‘Miranda Levis, you’re running the future of your career. How can you scold the chairman of the board? Do you still want to work for the Robin-Sophia Group?’
Miranda wanted to leave. Thinking about her purpose, she repressed her anger. “I don’t mind waiting for you for another five minutes.”
Then she stood aside sullen, waiting for Robin.
“You are awesome, dude. How can you let her wait for you? I thought she would leave in anger. You must be attractive to her,” a security guard muttered to Robin.
“She wants to talk to me. I’m married.”
Robin shook his head, hinting at him he wasn’t interested.
“Every man can possibly cheat their wives. No worries. We won’t tell your wife about it.”
The two security guards winked at him.
Robin didn’t respond again. In his opinion, Elise was a perfect woman. How could he have the heart to cheat on her? Robin had been satisfied with having such a wonderful wife. Besides, he wasn’t fond of cheating on her. Since he had married her, they would spend the rest of their lives together.
Miranda had been checking her watch. Right after it turned six, she reminded Robin, “All right. Time is up. Get your uniform changed.”
“Why should I change my uniform? Can’t I wear it to appear in public?”
Robin stood up gracefully and walked out of the security room, heading for the cafe next to the company building.
“You want to talk. Hurry up! I need to pick up Leslie later.”
“Bastard!”
Gritting her teeth, Miranda stomped a few times. However, her feet hurt, which angered her more. She had to follow Robin, gazing at his uniform in disdain.
Anyway, she must talk to him.
The cafe was high-end and fully packed with elites. Men were gentlemanly, and women dressed up, just like Miranda.
Robin was the only one wearing a security guard’s uniform.
He felt calm under all people’s gazes. He had kept calm when facing 300, 000 enemies in the past, let alone at present. The only time when he panicked was when he first encountered Elise and Leslie.
However, Miranda was different. She felt so ashamed that she wished to vanish from the cafe immediately.
