Chapter 5

Book:A Maid For The Billionaire Twins Published:2024-5-1

Travis sighs for the umpteenth time as he reclines on the couch, staring up at the ceiling. He has been trying everything to get her image off his head, but nothing seems to be working. Her pale face is the image he can’t get off his head, leaving so many questions running through his mind. Why was she like that? What happened to her? She didn’t look like she was OK, she looked like she was going through a lot, and as much as he wants to help her and give her the job, knowing the kind of pervert his brother is, he couldn’t have risked the young lady’s life, right?
Trevor is a big thorn in the flesh, and he doesn’t want him to end up taking advantage of the young lady at the end of the day. It’ll make him feel worthless. Of course, he knows that nothing is impossible with his brother, as the word ‘impossible’ doesn’t exist in his dictionary. That’s how crazy Trevor can be.
At times, he wishes that they were never twins, he gets so sick of his lifestyle and wishes that he can run away to a place he’ll never be able to find him, but it seems like he’s going to be stuck with this annoying brother of his, for as long as they’re both alive. They’re inseparable.
The sound of his buzzing phone jolts his attention back to reality, and reaching out to his phone, he unlocks it as a message pops on the screen. Turns out that it’s the message he has been expecting. The one from the young lady from earlier. He tries to recall her name again, but heck! He doesn’t have a sharp memory to always remember many things, especially the names of strangers. It always sucks him.
‘I’ll do anything to get the job, Sir. My sister is blind, and she needs surgery to be able to see with her eyes again’ recalling her words, he sighs briefly, before sending some money to her. At least the amount that’ll clear up for the surgery, and sustain them for some time. At least it wouldn’t hurt to help her, right?
The sound of the footsteps descending the staircase pulls his attention from his phone, and although he hasn’t looked in that direction, he didn’t need anyone to tell him that it’s his annoying brother. Of course, it’s just them and the maid in the house, so it’s definitely him since the maid is inside the kitchen and making food.
Trevor stares at his brother for some seconds, and seeing that he doesn’t want to give him attention as usual, he drags his feet to the couch across from his and slumps on it tiredly. It’s not his fault that he’s always childish to want his attention, even as he pushes him away, right? He’s the only family he has here, so it’s a normal thing to be all clingy to him.
He reaches out for the TV remote, and increases the volume until Travis can’t take it anymore, and raises his gaze to glare at him. It worked! He got his attention!
“Can you turn down the volume, Trevor? As you can see, I’m doing some thinking here. So can you respect my privacy?” Travis scoffs angrily, glaring hard at him like he’ll devour this annoying jerk anytime soon. He has been wondering why his brother has chosen to do nothing but annoy him all the time. At times he feels like he was cursed to have paired with him into the world, but then he’s not as worse as that.
The corner of Trevor’s lips slowly twitches into a smirk as he reduces the volume, turning to Travis afterward.
“So tell me, that girl from earlier… What was it with her??” He asks curiously.
“I don’t understand?” Travis shrugs confusingly.
“I mean, what did she want? And don’t you think she is beautiful? She was not well-kept, but still, she looked really hot. Imagine how breathtaking she would be if she were well-polished. I think she’ll be amazing in bed, don’t you think?” He whines.
“Ok, Travis… How about we do it this way? Just please give me her phone number. I promise, she’ll be the last girl, and I’ll be serious with my life. Just this once, please.” He further whines, cupping his cheeks in his palms. He knows best how to get on Travis’s nerves. That girl is not his type, and he would never think of having anything with her. He has just been trying to pull his legs and get him angry, and seeing the expression on his face right now, he can’t help but feel satisfied. It worked!
“Are you out of your mind or something, Trevor? Why the heck do you keep getting worse by the day? Are you planning to never change? Must you think of taking every woman you see to bed, huh?” Travis springs up to his feet angrily.
“Come on Travis, stop making a mountain out of nothing. This isn’t a big deal, so stop making it look like one, ok? And besides, I could tell she came to beg for money, so…”
“And the last time I checked, she didn’t fucking ask you for money, did she? When you were trying to run her over earlier, I guess you didn’t notice how beautiful and hot she was then? What the hell is your problem, Trevor? Is this the kind of life you want to live forever? Doing nothing but sleeping around with women? Don’t you want to do something reasonable with your life, huh?” Travis yells angrily. He has been trying to take all of his nonsense, but not anymore.
“Oh, please Travis. Here you go again,” He rolls his eyes frustratingly. Turns out that this was all a bad idea in the first place. He shouldn’t have played such an expensive joke on this dude.
“And listen to me, it is my money, I know best how to spend it, and if you try any shit with that girl, trust me, I’m going to make sure you regret this. Read my lips, you’ll regret it, and I mean it. If you continue like this, I’m going to have to inform mom and dad about this stupid lifestyle of yours, and I’ll make sure that they take you to stay with them in California. I won’t have you kill me with all these frustrations before my time,” And with that, he turns around and walks away, while Trevor stares at him in bewilderment, until he’s out of sight…
