Book:My Master Is A Fictional Character Published:2024-5-1

Author’s POV:
Janice looks of horror suddenly morphs into a sinister smile, then a roaring laughter to the evil one’s greatest surprise.
“Why are you laughing? What’s funny?” The evil one growls. He wasn’t the only one confused by Janice laughters, Daniel and Ethan could not understand the change of scenery.
“I’m hurt. I am deeply hurt that you think so small of me. I am your AUTHOR! I made YOU! And to think… to think.. to think you see me in such a frail way breaks my heart.” Janice mutters with sad eyes walking around the bonfire in slow steps, the fire from the bonfire glints in her eyes.
The evil one tried comprehending all what Janice said, but his confusion only deepened.
He went over the past few weeks and he couldn’t seem to find the loophole Janice is holding onto.
“Did you think I wouldn’t be of the knowledge, that burning the book wouldn’t bring an end to your existence.” Janice smirks, Vivian chuckles.
“I don’t understand.” The evil one takes a step back.
“I am saying the book Vivian threw in the fire was just a decoy. Maybe if you have checked what really went missing before heading here…. You wouldn’t be so stunned.” Janice shrugs.
“What do you mean? What are you going on about!” The evil one yelled impatiently, tired of Janice slow-reveal.
Vivian face-palms herself sighing loudly… “She means. I didn’t take the book. Instead I was making use of your pen.”
“Those two weeks you thought I was using to watch you closely and pick the perfect time to steal the book, I was actually using it to write a novel. And you were featured in it.” Vivian breathes out as she came to a stop.
“You should also know the book ends with you dying.” Vivian added with ease.
“What..” The evil one mutters in unbelief.
“Is that also hard for you to understand.” Janice sighs tiredly.
“You always wanted to be part of the main characters, you always wanted to have a meaning in this life. And I graciously gave it to you.” Janice brags with a boastful smile on her lips.
“Incase you are wondering what your role is, you are a villain who tries to kill the female lead Janice. You also have a pretty nice villain ending… Ohh, here they are.” Vivian claps her hands in excitement as two set of eyes pops up on the evil one’s face. Nose, mouth, ears and all the features a face should have.
The evil one touched his face in shock, “No! No! No!” He exclaims in disbelief falling to his knees.
His eyes started to become bigger, his neck got thinner than their original size, his mouth opened agape gasping for air. He held onto his neck, his legs bucked wildly for a few seconds then stops.
“He is dead. I think?” Vivian mutters staring at the body of the evil one who seems to be frozen in time.
Right before their eyes his body disappeared, his existence wiped off the earth.
“Wow.” Janice breathes out.
“I can’t believe he is really gone.” Daniel said still staring at the ground where the evil one’s body once laid.
“Speaking of the evil one being gone. I have a question?” Ethan voice out and they all stared at him.
“If the book that was in the fire was just some unimportant book, why are my hands disappearing?”
“Yeah, good question. Vivian what’s going on?” Janice asked with a raised eyebrow.
Vivian smiled sheepishly, “Ohh that. Well in movies or books the last episode before the grand finale normally ends with a cliffhanger, in which one of the character might be facing death. And what character would be best for my little cliffhanger if not Ethan smith the man who murdered me.” She giggled.
“Don’t worry. It would be gone in a minute or two.” Vivian added.
Ethan shakes his head sideways a lopsided smile at the corner of his lips.
“I also have to ask. When did you guys come up with such a plan, and why weren’t we informed?” Daniel asked.
“I had the plan when the evil one took Vivian. I felt he gave in too easy, then I also kind of realize his origin story was never written and since he was in all my books….. And for your second question, in every movie or novel I have read, a good successful plan is never revealed or said out loud.” Janice finished off grinning from ear to ear.
“Okay… so what happens to us now. We the fictional characters?” Daniel asked, Ethan nods in agreement.
“The book Janice made me write didn’t just feature the *evil one* alone. It’s a story of when we all abruptly showed up in Janice life. And so the book ends with the villain dying and the three of us remaining here on earth.” Vivian answered.
“Living happily ever after, unless someone burns the book.” Janice jokes.
“All in all, it’s your first happy ending book.” Ethan whistles placing a kiss on Janice forehead.
“Technically I am not the author.” Janice replies.
“Well… you did tell me every single word I wrote in the book. So.. co-author.” Vivian winked at her.
“We should all go in, this calls for a celebration. Janice wrote her first happy ending book and also the evil one is dead.” Daniel yells excitedly, Ethan, Vivian and Janice nods in unison.
As the four of them walked into the house, Janice pulls Vivian aside and asked… “I just remember that i forgot to give the book a title. So what title did you give it?”
“See for yourself.” Vivian takes a book out from the bag hanging loosely on her shoulder, she thrust the book into Janice hands then walks away.
“My master is a fictional character.” Janice read out loud, and a blush creeps up on her cheeks. Her cheeks redder than ever.
THE END.
