Book:My Master Is A Fictional Character Published:2024-5-1

VIVIAN POV:
“Wow, your place is magnificent. I never really expected you would live in such a fine abode as this.” I voiced out in awe staring fixedly at the mansion standing deep rooted on the earth, in front of me. It looks so magnificent, like it just popped out of a fairytale.
“I lived all my life selling hotdog and creating the perfect romance scene for main characters, I might as well start living as one.” He shrugged a wide grin plastered across his face.
(Actually I imagined a wide grin would be plastered across his face. It’s really hard talking to a faceless person so it would be better I make up a face in my head)
He is indeed living the life of a main character. The huge fountain situated at the middle of the very enlarged compound, the dozen of cars parked in the very stretched out garage, the big black electric gate and finally the fairytale mansion. All this are a sign of a very wealthy main character.
Did he draw all this??
“Well… I might as well help you in enjoying all this.” I giggled twirling myself a bit, taking a good look at the compound.
“If you feel astounded by this, then wait till you see the insides of this glorious mansion.” He chuckled walking past me.
I followed him hastily trying to match with his fast strides.
“Wow.” Was all I could bring myself to utter as my eyes draws in the sight before me.
Glorious, magnificent , sublime, spectacular.. this are’t the words to describe what my eyes are currently beholding. I don’t think the word I’m looking for can be found, and so I will leave this to thy imagination.
“Did you draw all this?” I had to ask cause I was getting really curious.
“Yes. I did try drawing money but of course anyone could tell it was a fake even though it looked so real. I did swindle some people with that, but to save my self some stress and embarrassment I decided to draw out all what I craved for. Perfect, isn’t it.” He spreads his arms wide, I could feel joy radiating from his faceless face.
Maybe he isn’t all that bad. He just wants the life Janice deprived him off, I wish he would do that by not trying to get revenge on her. Then all this would end on a happy note.
“Have you ever thought of drawing yourself some face. I’m pretty sure you should be able to with the pen and book.” I raised an eyebrow inquisitive of his reply.
“I would only deserve a face after I exact my revenge on Janice.” He said spitefully.
*************************************
I have been here for two weeks and during the past two weeks I have been able to watch the evil one closely, I now know his daily routine and most importantly, where he keeps the book.
Today is the day I decided to steal the book, I have only two hours to do that. For some reason everyday at exactly 3pm the evil one leaves the house and comes back after two hours. I once tried asking him about his whereabouts but I was met with silence.
His whereabouts wasn’t my top priority so I decided to take my nosy nose off it.
I opened the door of the office, tiptoed inside trying to be really silent.
*Why are we being so silent?* My subconsciousness whispered.
I came to a halt also wondering why I was tiptoeing into the office. The evil one won’t be back for over two hours, I’m literally the only one in the house for the next two hours! Why am I being so overly silent.
I cleared my throat, straightened my back and with re-found courage I walked into the office.
I head straight for the drawer, (watching the evil one closely I have seen him on numerous occasion keep the book in here. I’m thankful he always left the door to the sturdy half way open) I opened the drawer and just like I already knew the book was in there.
I took it out, left the office in a haste and also the house.
Ethan had put a tracker on me, he also gave me a smart watch in which I have being using to communicate with them.
Thankfully the evil one didn’t build his house in a different state or country.
“Get in.” Janice yelled from inside the car, bringing it to a stop in front of me. I wasted no time in jumping into the car then she drove off.
“I was beginning to think you had an accident.” I groaned tiredly relaxing on the car seat.
“Sorry, there was a bit of traffic.” She stared at me apologetic.
“Where are the guys?” I asked on seeing she is the only one in the car.
“At my house, preparing a bonfire.” She grinned.
By the time Janice and I got to her house the guys were already setting up a little bonfire at the back of her house.
“You guys are just in time.” Daniel sighed in relief throwing his arms around my body. I happily buried myself in arms, drawing warmth from him.
“So…. I guess we burn the book.” I heard Ethan mutter, from the corner of my eyes I could see him approach Janice.
I sensed the sadness in Ethan’s voice, if we burn the book.. The evil won’t be the only person we get rid off. Ethan, Daniel and I would also be gone.
“I guess so.” Janice replied with a toothy grin.
I would love to remain in my lovers arm but this two are doing a great job of ruining the mood.
“Come on, it’s not all that bad. You’ve got to admit this past few weeks or month, has been the craziest weeks in your life. With us gone, just see it all as a crazily precious moment and keep it all alive.” I butt in walking over to where Janice and Ethan is currently standing, Daniel followed closely behind.
“Wow. That’s the most sweetest thing you ever said to me. I will cherish it more.” She laughed heartily. I smiled back in reply.
“Ready.” Daniel asked.
“Yes.” Janice breathes out.
“No. Wait.” Ethan said, we all stared at him inquisitive.
Ethan placed his hands on Janice waist draws her closer to him then goes in for a deep kiss.
“Now we can proceed.” He announced putting an end to the kiss.
We all surrounded the burning fire, silence creeping into the atmosphere hanging above our heads.
“I will definitely miss the real world and being alive.” I voice out staring at the burning fire, my eyesight a little bit cloudy.
“Yeah. I definitely will.” Daniel echoes after me.
I breathe in and out then threw the book into the fire.
Sounds of someone clapping cut through the solemn silence that was upon us. I looked around in horror searching for the hands that produced the clap.
“Did y’all really think I would just vaporize into non existent once the book is burnt??” A horror-ish laughter followed the question revealing the hands responsible for the clap, The evil one.
“I knew what you were after the very moment you asked to tag along, and so.. I left my house everyday for two hours giving you the perfect routine and chance to steal the book. You did not disappoint me my dear Vivian.” He chuckled evilly. (For someone who doesn’t have a face, hearing him chuckle does send shivers down my bones)
I gasped in shocked at what he just revealed, my palm’s involuntarily covering my mouth.
“But.. but.. if you knew.. why.. why let her take the book?.. why.. why let her take it? Burning the book… would also get rid of you as it would get rid of them.” Janice stutters.
“You are wrong my dear Janice, my origin story doesn’t come from just one book. I am in all your books! Always creating the perfect date for your main characters.” He laughed. His laughter isn’t one of joy but of anger, bouncing off the evening sky.
“Incase you don’t get it.” He took slow steps towards Janice then comes to an halt in front of her.
“Daniel, Vivian and your dear Ethan would be the one vanishing into non existent today.” Following what the evil one just said, Janice stared at me, then at Daniel and Ethan.
She gasped in shock moving backwards her eyes on Ethan whose hands were already disappearing..
