Samantha’s POV
I was so damn confused as Alpha Kayden dragged me along but then I knew the look on his face and the aura he was emitting was just enough signal for me not to ask him any question.
But then his words shocked me even more! I was now his personal maid.
He had said that in front of everyone and no one was now allowed to send me on errands if not him.
“Including his parents?” Cara shrieked.
“Of course not Cara, that’s virtually impossible.” I replied her.
“And you Lauren, I do not want to see you anymore. The only grace you are having is the presence of mum and dad, don’t let me see you somewhere the both of them will be absent.” he said to Lauren, his voice completely laden with venom.
I could feel it that he could really kill Lauren.
“Follow me.” He said to me and he turned, heading towards the stairs.
“Good…. good day.” I stuttered, not knowing what to say to the people who were staring at me.
I nervously turned and ran after Alpha Kayden, he was walking super quick and I had to literally run to be able to catch up with his pace.
“What could they have talked about before that made Alpha Kayden so angry?” I asked Cara.
“Just the presence of Lauren is enough to make him angry.” Cara replied.
“Cara, don’t you think this family is complicated?” I asked her.
“I think so too but then even our own life is complicated. We should focus on shifting and after that, we can find our mate, hopefully we would have a nice mate” Cara replied and I found that I had not been thinking of having a mate at all for some time now.
And it seemed like Alpha Kayden was the reason I was not thinking about my mate! How stupid and dreamy am I getting?
The door to his room was opened and I followed him in, he was already seated on a chair, with his back turned to face me.
I breathed in and out deeply, this moment, his moment of anger was definitely not the perfect time to stay around Alpha Kayden.
“Go and pack your things up, we’re leaving.”
Ugh?
“Leaving to where… If I may ask Alpha?” I asked.
“Do not question my words Mantha! We are leaving this place, get your things packed.”he said and I knew that he really hated to repeat himself.
“Yes Alpha Kayden.” I replied with a sad tone as I walked out solemnly.
I knew Alpha Kayden was not going to take me somewhere to harm me, that was sure (he could harm me here anyway.) But then I would get parted with Cassie.
“How about you ask him if Cassie can tag along?” Cara asked.
“I would have done so but given Alpha Kayden’s mood currently…. I can’t.” I shook my head.
I was going to miss Cassie a lot, I got separated from Granny and now, the same thing is going to happen between I and Cassie.
I walked into the quarters and found Cassie sitting up on her bed.
“Where were you?”she asked and I pressed my lips into a thin line.
“Alpha Kayden called for me.” I replied.
“You look really down, anything wrong?” She asked me.
“She notices your mood, Cassie is really a good friend.” Cara pointed out.
“She sure is.”
“I am fine Cassie, just…. It’s nothing.” I didn’t know exactly how to tell it to her.
She might not have been on good terms with the other maids before I came here but her relationship with them became even worse since my arrival.
Me leaving her here was like the worst thing I could do.
“You’re lying to me, did Alpha Kayden yell at you? I thought you two hit it off yesterday when you kissed.” she giggled and I gently hit her shoulders.
“Hit what off? That was nothing but just some…. Some rush of dopamine.” I replied her.
“Dopamine…. I see.” she smirked and held my hands.
“But you really need to tell me what’s wrong…. I know when something is off with you.” she replied and I sighed.
“I am sorry Cassie.” I apologized.
“For what?” She asked, raising a brow.
“Don’t tell me you ate my food because I was sleeping!” She said making me chuckle.
“Of course not…. That’s not it.” I smiled.
“Then what is it?” She grumbled, curiousity written over her pretty face.
“Alpha Kayden made me his personal maid.” I began.
“That’s good news!!” She shrieked excitedly.
“Yes it is.” I agreed.
“There is more?” She asked and I nodded.
“He decided that…. that the both of us are leaving here.” I let out the news and she froze, the smile on her face disappearing in a sharp instant.
“I…. I am sorry Cassie.” I said to her with my eyes getting wet.
“No…. No, you don’t have to be…. It’s a good news for you.”
“Cassie, I really do not want to leave you alone here.” I said to her and hugged her.
“Where are you off to?” She asked.
“I have no idea yet….. He is in a bad mood…. He is only going to yell at me if I asked.” I replied her.
“It’s… It’s okay, when are you leaving?” She Asked.
“He… He asked me to get my bag packed right at this moment.” I replied.
“Now? You mean you are leaving today?” She asked and I nodded.
“I am sorry I am leaving you here Cassie, I also don’t want to.” I said to her and she patted my hair.
“You’d better start packing your bags, you said it yourself that he is in a bad mood, don’t waste his time.” she said with a faux smile, her eyes told me she was going to miss me so much.
I nodded and began packing my bag while Cassie stared at me without uttering even a word.
“I am done packing.” I said to her, clutching my bag.
“I will miss you.” I added and hugged her tightly.
“I will miss you too.” she replied and we remained that way for a while before I pulled back.
“Bye.” she waved at me and I did same.
I hope we come back here soon enough so I can be with Cassie one more time.
I walked back to Alpha Kayden’s room, there was a bag on his bed.
“Get the bag and follow me” he said coldly and walked out of the door.
I quickly carried his bag and followed him in a rush.
We got to his car and it was opened by some guards whom I perceived were wolves too. I dropped the bags in the car.
“Get in.” he ordered and I did so with a sad look on my face.
“Why are you sad?” He asked, his voice to me sounded like he was struggling to make it as emotionless as possible.
“Cassie…. I would be leaving her behind Alpha.” I mumbled and he glanced at his wristwatch.
“Get her here in five minutes.”
