Lauren’s POV
“Go and get those pretty girls here,” I said to Melissa with a tone of sarcasm.
“Yes Miss,” she replied and walked away.
I sipped wine from a glass cup in a completely calm posture even though my heart was raging. I was simply trying to maintain being the boss in front of Melissa.
The truth was that I knew very well that my plans kind of sucks and that if Alpha Kayden truly came here, we both would be doomed no matter what we did.
“They… They are nowhere to be found!” Melissa announced and my eyes widened.
That was even much greater doom. My wolf side has been refusing to talk to me all this while because I rejected our mate so I could not even get any advice from her on what to do next.
“We have to find them!” I muttered and got up from my seat.
“Search every nook and cranny,” I ordered and ran off, trying to find both of them.
Now, I was wishing that I did not begin this. I should just have stayed back at my home and not do this.
“Samantha!!” I screamed but there was no response.
“Samantha!! Cassie!!”
Now, it seemed like some sort of devil had pushed me to do all of this and that devil had now let go of me to face this problem.
Earlier I was thinking that I could pull some strings, get Samantha to run away and get Kayden to forget about her but If Davis tells him the state Samantha is and he gets home and still can not find her even after he had warned me before he left.
I would be dead!
“Can you see them yet?” I asked, yelling out to Melissa.
“Not yet!!” She yelled back and that was when I remembered the monitor room.
“The monitor room, let’s go check it out,” I said, already rushing over there.
Samantha’s POV.
The rain had stopped, leaving I and Cassie shivering. I could hear Miss. Melissa and Miss. Lauren called out to us but never would I give a response!
“Don’t be scared Cassie, you are just going to be fine. Hopefully, Alpha Kayden would be here to save us.” I said to her.
“I have always seen Alpha Kayden as a predator, one who was dangerous. Never thought I would be waiting for his arrival to be saved.” Cassie’s trembling lips said.
“Never thought I would too.”
“I think Alpha Kayden likes you, Samantha,” Cassie said.
“W… What are you talking about… He does not.” I stuttered, my face going a bit red.
“Mantha!!” I heard that deep, masculine voice and a smile broke off my face.
“Alpha Kayden!!” I yelled out in response and came out of hiding.
“Mantha,” he called again, on seeing me and without thinking twice about my actions and what the consequences could be.
I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly, sobbing against his body. I was expecting him to maybe push me away but he did not, instead his hand wrapped around my body.
His clothes were wet too, it was evident he also had to pass through the rain. I pulled back from the hug when I gained my senses.
This was Alpha Kayden for goodness’s sake!
“I… I am sorry.” I stuttered and took two steps backwards.
Alpha Kayden did not seem to pay attention to my apology, he raised my head slightly with his finger to make me look into his eyes.
“Mantha,” he mumbled and before I could reply to his words, his lips had covered mine.
My eyes widened in surprise as much as my stomach tightened into a tight knot. His strong arms were wrapped around my waist, his tongue flicked at my lower lip multiple times before his teeth gently grazed my lips, biting my lips. I gasped, opening up to him, he quickly deepened the kiss.
He kissed me fiercely and roughly while his hands were deeply dug into my hair. My hands slowly gained a life of their own and wrapped around him.
I moved closer to him, pressing my wet body against his. He kissed me hard for minutes and finally broke the kiss, he stared at me for a moment, his eyes were filled with what even a five-year-old would recognize as lust.
I was breathing heavily from the kiss while his hands on my waist still grazed my waist.
He suddenly let go and moved backwards.
“I was out of my mind for a moment,” he said and looked away.
“Out of his mind?” I asked Cara.
I could not deny the fact that the simple kiss had brought it to me that there was a possibility that Alpha Kayden liked me but then his words, his words were contradictory to those thoughts, weren’t they?
“You like him?” Cara asked and I gulped, not giving a response to that question.
After all, I was nothing but a slave. How could I possibly want to grow feelings for the Alpha of Alphas?
“Samantha!” I heard Miss. Lauren voice call.
It was pretty clear that she did not know that Alpha Kayden was back yet.
She stopped in her tracks as she saw Alpha Kayden.
“A… A… Alpha Kayden?” She stuttered.
“Surprised?” Alpha Kayden asked in a voice that sounded strangely cool.
In a blink of an eye, he had shapeshifted, it was the very first time I was seeing his wolf form but I did not have enough time to admire his wolf form as he leapt forward, charging at Miss. Lauren had a terrifying look on her face.
Cassie held my hand and I grasped hers too as I looked at the scene which I was guessing would soon be bloody.
Miss Lauren shapeshifted too but even before she could stand properly, Alpha Kayden had hit her off with his snout.
He let out a loud howl like a wolf who was calling on his mate before jumping onto Miss. Lauren, jumped on her wolf form with such speed and strength that she was pushed back to the ground.
I gasped at the sight of it. He raised his paw in an attempt to bury it into the wolf underneath him, an act that might kill Miss Lauren immediately.
“No!!!” I screamed and along with the scream came another wolf, jumping into the scene and charging fast towards Alpha Kayden.
“Alpha Kayden watch out!!!”
