Kayden’s POV
Hell! I got up from where I was seated, grabbed my jacket, slipping it on in an instant. I grabbed my car keys and walked briskly to my car, my pace was fast than usual.
I got into my car and zoomed off immediately. The car tore through the road at high speed. In a few minutes, I was home.
I barely parked the car before alighting from the car. I rushed to the door and opened up to see mum hovering above Mantha who was on our knees.
“Mum!” I called and she halted.
“You’re here… This is the lady who broke into your room and I am just about….”
“She did not break into my room.” I cut mum off walking over to where she stood.
“What do you mean?” Mum asked.
“I mean I brought her here,” I replied and mum gasped.
“Oh my! She was telling the truth, oh no! I almost even got rid of her, I am sorry, I am sorry darling.” mum apologized, raising Mantha from her kneeling position.
Mum held Mantha to her body and hugged her.
“I was just trying to make sure of the safety of my son, I hope you understand me,” mum said to Mantha.
“I perfectly understand you ma’am” Mantha replied and I took my seat on the sofa, throwing my right leg over the left one.
“It’s just strange to meet a girl alone in his room.”
“I am not annoyed ma’am, I understand you, ma’am,” Mantha replied.
“Are you sure?” Mum asked and I shook my head.
“Mum! She said she’s okay now” I said to her.
“I wasn’t talking to you, this won’t have happened if you had told me there was a girl in your room when I called this morning or if you had picked your calls when I called.” mum frowned deeply.
“I was busy”
“You could have remained busy till she gets killed by me.” mum seethed and Mantha gasped.
“Don’t be scared.” mum patted her hair.
“Uhm… Take Mantha to my room.” Mum said to one of the guys around and I watched as she was taken away, her pleasant scent fading away slowly with each step she took.
“Kayden.” mum called in a way that I knew I was going to be hit with different questions.
“Mum, not in the mood for questioning.”
“You’ve not been in a long while. Who is she?” Mum asked.
“She is no one,” I replied.
“You’re kidding me? You brought home a lady and left her in your room? Who is she? She doesn’t seem like your plaything.” mum said.
“I found her, she’s an orphan so I just decided to take her in ” I replied with a shrug.
“That is all?” Mum asked.
“What could be more mum?”
“Okay if you say so. So, what role will she play here?” She asked.
“A maid” I replied, standing up from where I was sitting.
“You’re leaving?” Mum asked.
“Yes and also, find her a nurse, she’s not feeling too good and I do not want her to use the sickness as an excuse not to work efficiently ” I replied and walked out.
I got back into my car and drove back to the office.

Samantha’s POV
Just at the moment when I was accepting that death was the only resolution for me, the door opened.
“Mum!”

The room was majestic but still, yet Alpha Kayden’s room was much better. Have a better room than your mother.
I couldn’t help but be super grateful that he came home, I would have died in his mother’s arms. The door opened and alpha Kayden’s mother stepped in her majestic way but the only difference was that the powerful aura surrounding her earlier had reduced so much.
I quickly got up from the sofa and bowed slightly.
“Oh no, you can have your seat,” she said with a pretty friendly voice and I sat down slowly.
“Don’t be scared of me, I heard you’re not feeling too good” she stated.
“I am feeling better ma’am.”
“I’ll just call the doctor to come to check you”
“No, there’s no need for that ma’am, I’ll be okay very soon
” I refused the offer.
“Kayden said you’d be working as a maid here”
“Yes ma’am.”
“As a maid, you have to be in good health, you would have to see the doctor,” she replied and I kept quiet, who am I to go against the mother of alpha Kayden?

A few hours later.
I was feeling much better than I had ever felt physical, I would have been okay emotionally too if not for the fact that Granny is missing from my life.
The doctor had come and left after which I had a nice rest in the maid’s quarters where I was pretty much comfortable.
I got up from the double bunker bed and found the maid’s uniform carefully laid out beside me. I picked it up and how soft it was, it was clean and looked beautiful.
I grabbed the clothes and the black shoes that lay beside it too. I wore the clothes and looked around, my lips in a small pout as I wondered where I was supposed to go off to.
None of the other maids was in the quarters, they were all out working I guess.
Just when I decided to sit back down and wait for the next orders, a woman walked in, she was definitely around the age of Granny but she was still agile.
“Good day, ma’am” I greeted, getting up from the bed.
“You are welcome to the dark moon’s mansion,” she said and though I wasn’t looking right at her face, I could tell that she was grinning.
“Thank you, ma’am.”
“I am the head of all the maids here, I have been here for about….” She stared at her fingers than at the ceiling in a manner that indicated that she was thinking”
“I have been here for about forty-six years and since you are new, I would be the one to allocate you and tell you the rules,” she said.
“Follow me, I’ll show you around”
“Yes ma’am” I followed after her as we walked out of the maid’s quarters at a slow pace which I understood was because of her age.
“Here is the living room as you can very well see, it is kept clean by a whole lot of maids, not a speck of dust is allowed,” she said to me, taking the stairs.
“Yes ma,” I mumbled, following after her.
“This is Alpha Kayden’s room, the demon wolf, do not touch his things. It is cleaned by maids that have been staying here long enough to know what he wants and what he does not want. It can not be cleaned when he is not in the room, the maids that are to clean his room can only clean the room when he is also in his room. No one stays in his room when he is not in there.” she explained and I furrowed my brows a bit.
“Isn’t that the same room I stayed in today?” I asked Cara.
“Maybe the old lady is exaggerating,” Cara replied.
“Do you understand that? Because that might be the most important thing for you to know here.”
“I do understand ma’am,” I replied.
“And this is Alpha Kayden’s mother’s room, she is quite easy-going, at least better than Alpha Kayden,” she mumbled, whispering the last part and cackling afterwards.
“And that is Alpha Kayden’s father’s room. Those three rooms I mentioned to you, stay away from there if you’re not called in, most especially Alpha Kayden’s room,” she said to me.
“Yes ma’am, I would follow your words,” I replied.
“I still do not understand why Alpha Kayden’s room sounds like a forbidden room, I hope I have not done wrong by staying there in the morning,” I mumbled to Cara.
“He left you there, you didn’t stay there.” Cara corrected my words.
“It’s the same thing,” I mumbled back to her.
“I will assign you another maid to take you through the other parts of the mansion, I am quite tired now.”
“Which room will I be assigned to?” I asked.
“Those three rooms are to be cleaned by workers who have a whole lot of experience here, along with the other menial jobs you’d take up in the kitchen and around the home, you would be involved in cleaning….” I felt a cold feeling and even the old lady stopped talking.
I turned back to see the man who could cause everywhere to become cold. I quickly diverted my gaze to the floor and kept my eyes fixated there.
“We… Welcome back Alpha Kayden.” I stuttered and mentally slapped myself for doing that after he had warned me several times.
“Welcome back Alpha Kayden.” the old lady greeted.
“Thanks, Granny” he replied and though the words would have sounded warm, the coldness in his voice overshadowed the warmness of the voice.
Perhaps the demon wolf said thanks to her because she had spent a long time in the mansion, she was definitely there when he was being given birth to.
He walked past us and I gently breathed out.
“So I was saying, you would be assigned to join in cleaning the empty rooms” she finished her words.
“Yes…” I was cut off by Alpha Kayden’s voice.
“Assign her to my room”
