Writer’s POV
A few hours ago
One of the alphas, Alpha Carl moved around the crowd with his glasses of wine with him.
He couldn’t catch sight of Alpha Kayden anywhere.
“Hey” he stopped the beta of the lock heart pack.
“What do you require?” The beta asked politely.
” Can’t find Alpha Kayden anywhere”
“Alpha Kayden is out currently he went out for a drive I suppose” the beta replied.
” And his beta?” Alpha Carl asked.
“His beta is not here too, he didn’t attend the party” the beta replied.
” If there’s no other thing, I would love to take my leave Alpha Carl,” the beta of the lock heart pack said with a smile and walked away.

The three slave masters stared at each other, they had just lost a slave.
It was to be unheard of to their top masters. They would be eliminated almost immediately once it is discovered that a slave escaped and they were unable to capture back the slave or at least get the slave killed.
The incident of the slave’s escape would have a huge impact on them, especially if the slave was found by others and the issue of slavery in the pack got out.
“We can’t tell others about the escape.” Sean finally mumbled.
” That’s right, we would be killed for letting a girl who hasn’t even shifted yet escape right under our noses.” the other agreed.
” We would have found her if not for the demon wolf,” the last one said and the other two nodded in agreement.
“What could we do? He could have ripped our heads off our bodies easily. We just have to lie for now then we search for this girl so she does not expose this aspect of life”
The door opened and the three quickly composed themselves.
“Is every one of the slaves ready where they are being kept?” The question came from their immediate boss.
They all hesitated for a while
“Yes, they all are” Sean replied.
“Good! We will be making use of them now” the boss replied.
” Sure boss” they chorused and moved out of the room.

“Is Alpha Kayden back?” Alpha Carl asked the beta of the lock heart’s pack once again.
This time Alpha Carl was standing beside another Alpha, having small discussions.
“Yes he is”
“Alpha Kayden must be stressed right now, he goes on a walk when he is stressed, have you checked upon him?” Alpha Carl asked.
” Yes Alpha Carl and trust me, he is not doing bad in any way, he is doing very much good with a lady in his room too. Must be having a good time right now” the beta replied and Alpha Carl chuckled.
“Okay, that’s all beta, Mark”
The next day
Samantha’s POV
I woke up with a slight ache in my head and my legs, I was feeling quite cold too. I remembered having some sort of nightmares about Granny.
She was being dragged away yet again in my dreams, taken away from me.
I fluttered my eyes open and took in my surroundings. Luckily! All that happened last night was real! I had truly escaped slavery into the hands of the demon wolf.
“Good morning Alpha Kayden” I greeted quickly on seeing him and he responded with a slight bob of his head.
I made to move my arms but his voice stopped me.
“I’d suggest you don’t move your arm” he mumbled and I stared at my right arm.
I had been injected but the syringe was still in me.
“I can’t remove it”
“Thank you for your kindness Alpha Kayden” I thanked him and pulled the syringe out of my arm.
I winced in pain but I contained the pains and dropped the syringe on the table.
I sat still on the bed, not knowing what to do next. I did not want to do anything that would annoy Alpha Kayden.
He grabbed a chair and sat in front of me whilst I dug my fingers into the bedsheets, feeling his intense gaze on me.
“What is he going to say to me?! Did he find out that I am slave?!” I asked Cara.
” There’s only one way to find out and that’s to at least listen” she replied to me and that was what I did.
“You’re an orphan, you’re homeless, you stole clothes and food, is all that correct?” He asked and I shook my head repeatedly.
“Words”
“Yes Alpha Kayden” my lips trembled out those few words.
“I’d be believing you… For now” he stated, emphasising the last two words in a way that made me understand that he was not believing my lie.
“Can you get up?” He asked and I nodded.
” Words” he demanded again.
“I can walk Alpha Kayden” I quickly replied and got up from the bed, my legs ached slightly but it was still better than the previous night.
My eyes glanced towards the wall clock that hung on the almost barren walls, it was still yet early in the morning, it was a few minutes to 5 am in the morning.
“We’d be leaving right away,” he said and grabbed his jackets.
I threw my arms around my cold self and followed after him.
He opened the door and stepped out into the corridors, he left the door wide open and I stepped out of the room through it, pulling the door to a close behind me.
“Cara, where are we off to right now?”
“You are not asking because you want a reply, are you?”
” Wheresoever I am being taken to, I just pray and hope it will be better than slavery” I replied.
I watched him move a few steps forwards and I did the same. He halted after the first few steps he had taken.
“Walk in front of me” he demanded.
“But….” I bit my lips to remind myself of who this man was and who I was and the fact that I wasn’t supposed to refuse any of his orders but then asking me to walk in front of him was something I saw no reason for.
“I want to see you walking in front of me Mantha” he demanded again and I quickly rushed in front of him.
I walked forward, trying to remember the way we followed in here the previous night.
I successfully found the way out and mentally applauded myself.
“Perhaps even the demon wolf forgot the way out and had smart-me lead him out” I bragged to Cara.
” You wish! This is an almost perfect man, I would say perfect if there was such a person. He is the best at so many things and you think you do him a favour by leading the way. Just focus on thinking about how to placate and please him so he does not rage” Cara replied and I gave a mental eyes roll.
“C’mon, even the most perfect person still needs another”
I had walked down to the black car which I recognized to be Alpha Kayden’s car when I let out a sneeze.
“I’m sorry about that Alpha” I apologized even though it was a reflex action but still yet that reflex action could put me in trouble and getting rid of a girl without background like me would be the easiest thing someone like him could do.
I rubbed my hands against my shoulders and forearms to create some warmth when I heard a loud groan.
“How did I offend you alpha?” I asked, ready to apologise a million times.
“Can’t you just freaking say you’re cold?!” He half yelled at me like he had lost it for a moment before raking a hand through his silky hair with his eyes closed.
He opened his eyes and I quickly looked away from his face back to the floor.
He sighed softly and removed his black jacket and draped it over me.
“T… Thank you, Alpha” I thanked him, my face smoothening into a smile.
“No stutters” he replied, ignoring my ‘thank you statement’
I huffed in my head, just as expected from the demon wolf.
I watched his hands click on a button on a remote, there was a tiny beep sound.
“Get into the car” he ordered.
“Is it opened alpha?” I asked my question slowly, hoping it would not annoy him.
“Mantha, I won’t tell you to go in if the car is not open, would I?” He groaned, getting into the car.
I gulped, dragged his jacket around me tighter and got into the car. I sat by the spot I was starting to love, the window side.
I had no idea where I was being taken away to. I sniffed in the scent of his cologne on the jacket and how good he smelled.
His scent warmed through my heart and I let out a small smile, the jacket was really doing a good job in warming me up.
I would have thought that I would get to touch Alpha Kayden’s clothes, be in his car while he drives too!
“A… Alpha Kayden” I called his name and heard him sigh.
I just stuttered again.
“What do you want to say?” He didn’t point out that I had just stuttered and that I was grateful for.
“If… if I may ask….”
“You may” he cut me off in a way no one would have ever considered respectful.
“Where are we off to right now?” I asked him, hoping he would tell me. He hesitated for a while before speaking up.
“I’ll be taking you home”
