As soon as I pulled his mask off and was about to see his face, the dim light suddenly went out, which froze me on the spot.
I heard him snort while I was still in a trance before feeling his weight on my body suddenly disappear. With a cool hand skipped over my ear, he picked the mask up and got out the bed.
It was not until he got dressed and put the mask back on that I noticed there was a remote-control-like delicate gadget in his hand which could control lights in the room.
He walked to the table and sat where I had sat before, staring at me coldly until my blood froze.
I sat up as well. Unwilling to put my clothes on in his face, I pulled the quilt over and covered my body with it.
“Is there anything else you can pull apart from such useless tricks?” He snorted with sarcasm, which made him look even more indifferent.
Obviously, he was taunting me for pulling his mask off just now.
I was stunned for a while before being surrounded by the familiar sense of humiliation he brought me since his presence in my life.
Like a cold-blooded devil, he could always ruin all my efforts easily.
I suddenly felt at a loss. “What am I supposed to do to get out?”
He seemed to have figured out what was on my mind as he spoke coldly with a sneer, “Don’t try to pull your petty tricks again. Otherwise, I won’t spare you so easily next time.”
He grew impatient before he could even finish his words. When he rose to his feet and was about to leave, I suddenly stopped him. “What do you mean?”
“He won’t spare me so easily next time? Isn’t this enough? He has already humiliated me to the ground!” I thought angrily.
He turned his head coldly at my words with a hint of cruelty in his smile. “If you don’t want your husband dead, you’d better stop behaving stupidly like this.”
His straightforward threaten immediately sent me into a panic attack. Then I saw my pale reflection in the high-end marble embedded on the wardrobe in front of the bed.
Almost as soon as he finished his words, my intuition told me that he meant it.
Of course, he was capable of it.
At the thought that my husband might get involved in trouble because of my mistakes, I was on the verge of tears.
I finally managed to come back to my senses again and was about to say something to this man when I realized that he had left.
I put my clothes on and prepared to leave while I was still in a daze. However, just as I was about to step out of the room, my cell phone buzzed again. “Don’t leave till tomorrow.”
I stood still for a while. Although I had no idea of his intention, it did not matter anymore.
I decadently sank into the bed again and heaved a sigh of relief as I felt the efficacy of the aphrodisiac gradually fading away.
This might be the only thing that made me gratified tonight.
A message popped out as soon as I put it aside.
When I found it was nothing but a spam message, I felt my tension was relieved a little. Being exhausted, I switched my phone off and lay back in bed.
Being restless, I woke up early the next morning. I got out the bed, took my bag and walked out of the room.
As soon as I switched my phone on, I saw the short message my husband sent me, saying that he was going to attend a dinner party with his friend.
Without giving it much thought, I put my phone away and walked into the elevator heading downstairs.
I had been running scared since that man left last night, wondering what would happen to me next time.
I only knew that I could not go against his will.
The elevator arrived at the ground floor in the blink of an eye. I managed to let go of the worries before walking out.
However, to my surprise, my husband, who was supposed to be at the dinner party with his friends, happened to be in the lobby of the hotel.
