TWENTY FIVE

Book:Daze's Obsession ( ENGLISH VERSION ) Published:2024-5-1

I look at myself in the mirror. Even though I have a baby bump, I can still say that I am sexy. I think it runs in Dy’s blood. I am now wearing a wedding gown that fits my body.
I plan this wedding thinking that Ervic was the one with me. Even though I didn’t want to make it fabulous, I followed my brother Dylan’s advice to make the marriage that I wanted because it only happens once.
But the asshole left me, even if my heart is full of pride, what happened can’t be undone. The gay is gone and even if I cry, I will marry Enrique whether I want it or not. The man I love, and the father of my child. The man I’m chasing for a long time.
But—–I will still be stubborn.
“Ready?” The door opened and ate Dane entered. “Wow, gorgeous, you look fab like me during my wedding. You’re a fucking Dy and it can’t be denied.” I give her a smile when she comes closer and caresses my face.
“Thanks, sis.”
“Excited?”
Excited? Nope, disappointed is the right word. I am disappointed because what I wanted didn’t side me. I didn’t do what I wanted to happen—-to tease and tease Enrique and to get revenge on him and not let him know that he has a child. Oh well, I’m still going to hide him because I won’t tell him that he’s the father even though we’re married.
“Yeah!” But who can understand me? Nothing but only me so the best answer is yes.
“I know. Because this is what you wanted for a long time. Marrying the man that you loved. I feel you, the same I had when I married Wallace.”
“But he didn’t love me.”
“Daze?”
“I am ok. Maybe I am emotional because I am pregnant.”
“I understand. Been there than that. Let’s go, everyone is waiting.”
I chose The Luxury hotel owned by brother Phoenix to hold the wedding so I went to the place. The wedding was in the open area veranda and the reception was in the event hall where I celebrated my eighteenth birthday.
When we reach the area we can deny how fabulous it is. The perfect decoration that I really want. Dandelions are everywhere. The whole area is surrounded by white. Chandeliers are made of real silver and gold, with real diamonds. Even the other decorations are also sponsored by brother Dylan. The guests who are business partners around the world are people I don’t even know.
I should be happy. This is my dream wedding. But what I really feel now is that I hope Enrique never comes. I hope he changes his mind. It is bad to ask for evil, but I hope he will have an accident on his way here.
“Enrique is already here with your brothers. Don’t worry.” Tss! Why is he too early? I still thought he would never come.
“Ma’am, the wedding is about to start.” The organizer informed us.
“Good luck and congratulations. Relax.” My sister fixed my bangs. My hair design is mermaid braids. She kissed me on the forehead and then left me.
The organizer guided me. I was made to stand in front of the arch which was covered by a see-through curtain but I couldn’t see either. There is also a red carpet and on each side of the aisle are dandelions. The entourage started to walk on the aisle one by one.
Celestine is my maid of honor. They said it’s not allowed because she’s already married but I don’t care. I want her, and no one can stop me.
I don’t know who chose the song because I didn’t choose the song. I Do Cherish You by 98 degrees started to play, and when they finished I was the one to walk. They opened the curtains and I see them. Carrying the dandelion bouquet, I walked slowly. From here I can see Enrique standing while waiting for me. He’s wearing a white tuxedo and white slacks.
I wish I had chosen a black wedding suit for his all-white. He even wears all white—-as if his intentions are really clean in this wedding. Duh!
My parents didn’t want to take me so I walked to Enrique alone. He looks so serious while waiting for me. Fortunately, I’m wearing a veil so you can’t see my disappointed face behind the veil. As if I was really crying out of spite because of annoyance.
When I reached him, he greeted me. He holds my hand and helps me sit. I really don’t want to touch him because I hate it if it’s necessary. You really thought you were concerned about me, so plastic. Devil. The mayor is already in front and waiting for us.
“Before we start the wedding, I just want to know if there are any objections to this wedding. If you have one, feel free to give your reason.”
‘I’m the mayor, I object.’
But I can’t tell so I’m just hoping that there is a woman who will come and cry and say that Enrique got her pregnant.
“Nothing? If that is so—-”
“Mayor, wait.” The mayor stopped because I grabbed what he was going to say and looked at me. “Can we wait for about one hour maybe someone is stuck in the traffic?” But instead of giving in, they just laughed like I am crazy.
“Proceed, mayor, my sister is just joking!” Brother Dylan shouted.
“I know, I know, such a funny bride,” he said then continued. He’s crazy! Do I look like I’m kidding? Dimwit! No one always takes me seriously. “Did you come here willingly and no one forced you?” he added.
“Yes,” Enrique said but I didn’t answer.
“Dandelion?” His face is willing. His face is thick, what yes? we are both forced here. “Dandelion Daze?”
“Yes, I’m willing.” And everyone laughed. Are think I am joking?
My wedding is different from my siblings—-except for brother Dylan who has not been married of course. Because they are the same priest and they are in the church while mine is the mayor and it was held in the hotel.
The wedding starts and everyone listens to him. I just don’t know if Enrique is the same because since we arrived I still haven’t looked at his face.
I don’t know what happened to me. Since I got pregnant, I have changed my view of him. It’s not that I hate him but he’s annoying in my eyes. His presence annoys me. I am disgusted with him. He is irritating and makes my blood boil for him. He is like a big devil in my eyes.
The mayor walks closer to us and makes us stand up. Enrique also helps me to stand but as usual, I still don’t look at him. It’s still pretending to be sad but deep inside it wants to push me.
“Enrique, do you take Dandelion Daze to be your lawful wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?”
I looked at Enrique listening to the mayor. I am hoping for him to say no and leave me in the middle. I don’t mind being embarrassed as long as he just gets out of here. He got away because he was of no use—-I think.
“I do,” but he is the devil. He is a big Dimwit and he stands up for what he hates. I do his face. To be faithful and love me? The thickness of what looks like I do. It’s nice to slap his left and right and say he’s a liar.
“Dandelion, do you take Enrique to be your lawful husband? Do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honor him all the days of your life?”
Can I answer ‘no’? Then I will say because I don’t want to marry him. I would say I don’t care about him. That I don’t want this marriage and I was just forced and then I’m leaving.
Can I say that I would rather be a single mom than marry a man who only gave me pain?
I look around and they are all looking at me and waiting for my answer. I can also see the surprise on their faces as they look at me. There is nothing they can do if I don’t like it, run and leave this marriage.
My family won’t kill me if I do that. But they also cannot be recognized as complicit in the shame I will do. Maybe my daddy will reject me if I do that or maybe my mommy will pass out from shame, it’s my fault.
Whatever decision I will make right now, my family will get affected. But because—my life depends on it. My freedom and comfort won’t happen when Enrique is with me.
“Dandelion?” Enrique whispered so I looked back at the front and then bowed. I really don’t want to, I don’t want to marry him. “Dandelion.” Enrique’s calling me has an emphasis.
Is there really no hope? Are we really getting married? I hope there is an earthquake here for about one hour and everyone will be dizzy including him and his head will be hit until he falls into a coma. I hope a storm comes and clears and blows him away.
“Repeat your question, mayor, I think my sister did not hear you well.” Brother Dylan shouts. But the way he said it is like a warning to me.
What the mayor said was clear to my ears. Enrique and I’s future is even clearer to be with him. It’s even clearer in my memory when he said he didn’t want me to be his wife.
“I think, too, mayor.” Enrique seconded.
I let out a heavy sigh and looked back at the mayor.
“Well, I will repeat it. Dandelion, do you take—–”
“I do,” I answered. I have no choice. Let me just let what happens to us and our marriage.
I don’t know what happened next. I just hung around. Exchange rings while repeating what the mayor’s said. The next thing that happened is I heard him say that——-.
“I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride.” So we are already a couple? Are we really married? Is that it? It seems not yet because I can still not sign.
Enrique and I faced each other. He lifted my veil. Our eyes meet but I cannot see any reactions. Same as I can’t feel anything too.
Don’t tell me that he will really kiss me.
He kissed me on the forehead instead of kissing me on the lips. Not bad, because I don’t want to kiss him on the lips either because I’m still annoyed with him.
Everyone clapped and congratulated us, followed by a paper signing which I did nothing but sign, next is a pictorial.
Am I really a Locsin? Am I really married to Enrique? Is he really my husband?
