Kevz can’t stop teasing Drew and sometimes Lemon, too. Kale and Kellen sometimes squeal and pull each other’s hair or hit each other. Even Drew can only shake his head at them.
“Wait, I’m retiring!” Roj announced with a hand raised. “You guys are multiplying, and I’m not enjoying it anymore.”
Homme nodded as he raised his hand too. “Me too, I surrender!” he chuckled.
Lemon saw how Kellen looked at him with her brows knitted. She can’t help but smile at how concerned her cousin was for Homme.
She was thinking about how much Kellen would have wanted to take care of him, but her thoughts got disrupted when Kevz tapped her shoulder. “How about you, Partner? Can you still drink?” he asked, slurred.
“I can, but these weaklings,” she said, pointing at their friends. “They’re giving up! So, I guess we should call it a night.”
Kevz agreed, and since they were all drunk, they had to disturb Lyra and ask her to clean up after them. And then they all headed to the second floor.
Lemon went to the restroom first to respond to nature’s call. But instead of going to the room right after, she went to the terrace.
She turned the music on her phone with her elbows on the railings. She was busy banging her head to the music with her eyes closed when someone cleared his throat.
Opening her eyes, she saw Drew walking towards her. “Is it too loud?” she asked, thinking she had disturbed since the terrace was just next to the room where they were staying.
“No, it’s fine,” he responded.
He then pushed himself up and sat on the railings right next to her. Lemon nodded but still lowered the volume and started singing along. And Drew cleared his throat again.
She looked up with her brows shot up, but he wasn’t looking at her. “Is there something wrong?” She asked, and he smiled faintly.
They stayed there until Lemon felt sleepy. Since Drew wasn’t talking anyway, she excused herself. “I’m going in,” then she grabbed her phone.
Lemon had only taken two steps when Drew grabbed her arm. She turned to look at him, confused, but he just looked away.
“Leslie, about what you said earlier,” he started without glancing at her.
She stood straight to face the man, and he let go of her arm before crossing his arms over his chest. “What about it?”
Lemon was half hoping her confession caught his interest. That was what she was feeling at that moment. But she was dismayed when Drew opened his mouth.
“I guess it’s best if you’d just forget about it. That is if you’re still feeling the same,” Drew suggested. Lemon’s forehead wrinkled, and at the same time, she felt like someone gripped her heart. “Liking me won’t go anywhere since I’m… I’m not interested,” the man added with conviction.
Lemon wanted to strangle him, throw him over the terrace, and go downstairs to bury him in the front yard. She felt insulted. He made her feel like she was chasing him, and she was insisting.
She sighed and crossed her arms over her chest. She was holding back the urge to slap Drew. “Look, Mr. Morales, the topic was about first crush, not CURRENT crush, in case you misheard it. I did admire you before, but there’s nothing more to that. So, please, don’t be an airhead just because of that and rub it to my face that you’re not interested.”
She turned her back to his face, not waiting for him to respond. She may have sounded so irritated, but who cares?
Lemon entered the room and saw the empty double bed. Without second thoughts, she lay down on it, not minding where Drew would sleep for the night.
The following morning, however, she woke up to the sound of people talking. At first, she thought it was just a dream, but to her surprise, her friends were up and were talking inside the room.
She immediately saw Kellen and Kale when she opened her eyes. They were standing next to the bed where she was sleeping, whispering. Not far from the two were Kip and Kevz, standing by the door, and on the top bunk bed were Homme and Roj.
All of them were looking at her. They were all watching her. When she lifted her head to look around, she saw Drew lying beside her. ‘What the fuck?! Why is Drew next to me again?’
“So that’s how it ends when you confess your feelings. I guess you should confess too,” Kale suggested, nudging at Kellen, who rolled her eyes at their pink friend.
Lemon was about to stand up when she felt something heavy on her legs. Looking down, she saw Drew’s leg comfortably resting on hers with his arm around her waist.
She suddenly recalled their conversation the night before, and because of that, her anger got triggered, and she slapped him hard. It was hard enough to wake him up. Drew opened his eyes, rubbing them while his forehead creased at Lemon.
Hearing Kevz, Drew seemed to have gotten his senses back. He scrambled to stand up but fell to the floor. And everyone ended up laughing except Lemon.
“You’ve already done this twice, man,” Kip called off. “I would have felt suspicious if you didn’t say you’re disinterested.”
News Flash: He didn’t just tell Lemon. Drew said it to some of their band members, too. And Lemon just got madder!
Quickly dismissing the thought before it ruined her mood completely, Lemon pushed herself off the bed, snatched her bag from the rack, and exited the room. She went to the bathroom to wash up and cool down.
When she came out, she saw Kale and Kellen running out of the bedroom, followed by the rest of the group. With her forehead creased, she assumed they were starting to play around again. But as soon as she entered the bedroom, she got hit with a shoe on the face!
“OUCH!”
Drew was irritated by everything they accused him of. They wouldn’t stop teasing and questioning him even after he explained what happened.
After talking to Lemon about her feelings for him, he felt guilty, too. He knew he had gone too far and told the group about it as part of his explanation.
However, none of them would listen. They insisted Drew was just making an excuse and that he intentionally slept next to Lemon.
They were right, though. It was just an excuse because Drew couldn’t recall what happened. As far as he could remember, he went downstairs after talking to Lemon.
He searched for their leftover vodka, drank everything, and went upstairs. The next thing he knew, he was awakened by Lemon’s resounding slap.
And as their friends won’t stop asking stupid questions, Drew ran out of patience. Pissed off, he yelled at them and asked them to leave him alone.
However, Roj still wouldn’t cut it, so he threw at him the first thing he got his hand on. But then he felt like he got doused with ice-cold water after hearing Lemon’s cry.
Drew rushed to her and was about to touch her face to check on it, but she smacked his hand away. Worse, her eyes slowly grew big when she removed her hand and saw blood coming from her nose.
He panicked at the sight, especially when their friends started coming. “What happened?” Kip asked, looking at the two.
“Why would you throw a shoe at me!” Lemon spat, and everyone turned to Drew.
“N-No, I-I’m sorry,” he stuttered. “I-It’s all Roj’s fault,” glaring at his friend.
Kip held Lemon’s arm and led her downstairs as she kept her chin up, and everyone followed suit. Drew, however, ran outside without looking back, even if Homme called after him.
He went to the nearest pharmacy to get an ice pack and gave it to Lemon as soon as he returned. Thankfully, she didn’t refuse and used it right away.
“What happened?” Roj asked, chuckling.
“It was your fault!” Drew sneered, wanting to strangle him. “If you stopped asking, I wouldn’t have thrown that shoe!”
“Then how did Lemon get hit?” Homme asked curiously.
“Because she showed up out of nowhere,” Drew responded.
“So it’s my fault now? I’m sorry then!” Lemon spat sarcastically.
Drew wanted to tell her that wasn’t what he meant, but she was already in a foul mood, and he didn’t want to make things worse. Scratching the back of his head, he went to the bathroom instead to wash his face and all the irritation that comes with it.
When Drew rejoined the group, they were all settled on the couch, so he tried squeezing next to Roj. But before he could sit, Lyra called him from the front door.
“Someone’s looking for you outside,” she told him, and Drew’s forehead creased automatically.
He stood up without knowing who it was. But before he could take another step, the unexpected visitor showed up. “Hi, babe! Did you miss me?” then she hugged and kissed him on the lips and in front of everyone.
‘What the fuck is Minnie doing here?!’
