After emptying four bottles of vodka, the boys were already drunk. Drew was amazed, however, at how well Lemon could handle her alcohol. Kellen and Anne had given up drinking, too, but Lemon was still alive and kicking.
“Excuse me,” she said, her head bowed down.
“You should rest. You’re drunk,” Drew whispered as she held her arm. Just like earlier, Lemon glared at him. He let go of her arm but stood his ground.
“Excuse me,” Lemon repeated, but he still didn’t budge.
“Leslie, you should rest,” he told her again, but she pushed past him. ‘She’s supposed to be drunk. How can she just push me like that?’
Although irritated, he followed her inside and plopped on the couch next to Anne. The girl noticed him and quickly snaked her arm to his waist.
Anne was supposed to be Drew’s flavor of the week. But even he doesn’t know how they were still together after three weeks. And although he was with her, all his attention had been on Lemon.
She had been acting a bit off since she arrived at the studio. Aside from ignoring Drew, which wasn’t new to him, Lemon had been snobbish.
She only loosened up when they started drinking, but she still wouldn’t pay attention to Drew. She won’t even talk or look at him as if he has a contagious disease she could acquire at any time.
But Drew perfectly understood why Lemon treated him like that. He was rude the last time they talked and could only blame himself.
Then again, he had no choice. Drew felt like if he apologized nicely to her, he would end up with a confession of his feelings, too.
The look in her eyes was still fresh in his mind. He felt he was being sucked into her while they were eye to eye. He didn’t want to move away, especially when their foreheads touched, but he had to.
Drew had to distance himself from Lemon because he knew, in the end, he was the only one who would get hurt. He was sure she wouldn’t accept him once his cousins carried out their plans.
So, even if he was irritated that their asshole friends were so close to her, he couldn’t do anything. He can only let go and ignore it.
“Lem, can you sing?” Roj asked, lying on the floor with his head on Lemon’s lap. Although Drew wanted to kick him in the face, he could only look away.
“What song?”
“Do you know the song I Miss You? Incubus?” he inquired, and she nodded, smiling. Then she started to sing, ‘To see you when I wake up~’
Drew couldn’t help but smile when she started singing one of his favorite songs. Although he was annoyed because she was singing it for Roj, he decided to listen and enjoy her singing.
However, the entertainment got cut short when Anne threw up. They even had to wake Lyra up and ask her to clean up the mess.
“We should call it a night,” Kip suggested, and when everyone agreed, Kevz helped Drew carry Anne upstairs.
They laid her down on the bottom bunk while Roj and Homme claimed the top bunk. In the next room, Kevz took the top while Kip occupied the bottom bunk.
Roj and Homme occupied the top bunk. Kip slept on the lower bunk. In the other room, Kevz took the top bunk while Drew and Anne took the lower bunk.
Kellen was asleep on the double bed, and Lemon lay beside her. But after a few minutes of tossing and turning, she still couldn’t sleep, so she went to the terrace.
“You’re not going to sleep yet?” Kevz asked.
She pouted and shook her head, “I couldn’t sleep,” she complained, followed by a long yawn, and they laughed.
“Face Kellen so you won’t see them. That way, you would fall asleep,” Kevz teased.
She leaned her head sideward, thinking about what his words meant, and when she realized it, she hit him on the arm. “You’re crazy!” she spat and started laughing again.
“Are you sure you’re not sleeping yet?” Kevz asked, and again, she nodded. “Okay then, I’ll go get in. I’m sleepy,” then he hugged her before turning his back.
Before he entered the room, he decided to go downstairs to grab a glass of water. On his way up, his phone lit up on the coffee table.
Kevz went back, sat on the couch, and checked his messages. Some were forwarded quotes, but there was one from an unknown number.
‘Please take care of Leslie.’
His forehead automatically creased. ‘Who’s this?’ He was unfamiliar with the number, but he was sure it wasn’t from any of his bandmates.
As he kept thinking about it, he fell asleep. Not knowing how long it had been, Kevz woke up to someone yelling upstairs. When he checked his phone screen, it was already nine in the morning.
He ran upstairs to see what was happening. When he peeked inside the big room, an angry Anne greeted him. Her face was crimson down to her neck.
“Answer me, Drew! Why are you there?!” she yelled, gritting her teeth. Meanwhile, Drew was sitting on the edge of the double bed, head bowed down.
‘Hold up, why is he there?’
Kevz’s forehead wrinkled as he tried to recall what happened. Before he went out to the terrace, Kellen was already sleeping on the double bed. Drew and Anne were on the bottom bunk. Now, Lemon was on Kellen’s place, and Drew was sitting on its edge.
As Anne continued yelling, Kevz noticed Homme, Roj, and Kip standing by the door, peeking inside. “Why are you so loud this early in the morning?” Roj asked.
“Fuck it, Drew! Are we going to start guessing how you ended up there?” she yelled again.
Lemon moved a bit, but she was still asleep. Kevz wanted to laugh. In the middle of all the chaos, she was still sleeping soundly.
As Anne continued yelling and yapping, Lemon finally woke up. The boys stayed at the door as if watching a scene from the movie. Not one of them dared to speak.
Lemon sat up, rubbed her eyes, and looked around. She was shocked to see Drew sitting close to her on the bed. And it doubled when her eyes landed on Anne, standing beside them with her hands on her waist, all red and furious.
She looked at them, confused, waiting for someone to tell her what was happening. “What happened?” Lemon finally asked in her sexy bedroom.
“You,” Anne pointed at her, “What is your problem, and why did you sleep with my boyfriend?”
Kevz felt Kip move, so he stopped him. If he were not quick enough, Kip would have strangled Anne for shouting at his cousin.
“Why are you whining so early in the morning?” Lemon smirked, rolling her eyes at the girl before turning to Drew. “And you, why are you here on our bed?”
Anne clicked her tongue and smiled mockingly, “Are we trying to play dumb here? Stop pretending like you don’t know anything. You two slept together! You were even hugging each other, to think I’m just on the other bed!” she ranted.
“What is going on?”Kellen asked from somewhere.
The boys turned to look at her, “Sshhh!” then she pushed them aside to get inside.
“I slept next to Drew?” Lemon asked, her brows raised. She tried to recall how it happened but gave up eventually. “So what’s the problem if we slept in the same bed?” she asked sarcastically.
Anne’s eyes widened in shock. She tried reaching out for Lemon, but Drew quickly blocked her. Meanwhile, Lemon got off the bed to face Anne.
“Stop yelling! Your voice is giving me a headache,” Lemon scolded. “Besides, you’re the one who’s crashing in our studio, so stop being a drama queen!” she told the girl, poking her shoulder with a finger.
“Wow! You’re shameless! You flirted with my boyfriend and can still say that? You’re bold!” Anne spat back.
Anne raised a hand to slap her, but Lemon grabbed her arm and pulled her closer, “I never flirted with your boyfriend! F-Y-I, I’m not even interested in him,” she chuckled, pushing Anne to Drew.
The boys wanted to do a slow clap after what Lemon did, but when they looked at Drew, they changed their minds. They saw a glint of pain in his eyes.
‘Was that true? She’s really not interested in him? Well, not impossible though since the last time we talked, she’s only crushing on him.’ Kevz thought to himself.
As for Drew, it was a different case. Even if he wouldn’t admit it, it was rather obvious he didn’t just like her. He loved Lemon, and that was why he got hurt.
After the drama scene, Lemon headed downstairs, and the boys followed her. She sat on the couch and hugged her legs, “I want fried rice,” she muttered.
Homme and Roj burst into laughter. Kip shook his head and reached out to mess her hair. Meanwhile, Kevz sat beside her and pulled her for a hug.
“Partner, that’s some Oscar’s worthy line you said up there,” but she just laughed at him.
“I’m hungry,” she whined, squeezing closer to Kevz.
Kevz laughed alongside their friends because of Lemon’s actions. But at the same time, he was anxious. He knew if Drew saw them in such a position, it was the end for him.
