Book:My Knight in Shy-ning Armor Published:2024-5-1

Time Check: 6 AM
Rawbin turned on his side to check on the time again. ‘Is this serious? It’s only six in the morning? Why am I up so early?’
Then it hit him. He’s going to church with Lemon. Yes, with Leslie Monica Juarez. Now he’s not surprised why he’s up this early. It’s not a question, he was definitely excited.
‘But why am I feeling nervous?’
He admits that he was a playboy or at least he used to be one. He used to be one because he swore to himself he’d stop womanizing after meeting Lemon.
He quickly pushed himself off of the bed and opened his closet. He has to find something suitable and appealing to wear.
It shouldn’t be too much but it must be comfortable. Something Lemon will like. ‘But what if I can’t impress her with my fashion sense?’
Rawbin closed his eyes and randomly picked some clothes. ‘Instinct, please don’t fail me.’ he whispered to himself.
He pulled out the first clothing item he touched from the left side of his closet where his tops were. Then on the left side where his bottoms were. He was even impressed by his random picks.
He placed the clothes properly at the foot of his bed before lying down again. It was still too early so he tried sleeping again.
Fortunately, he managed to doze off. But he panicked when he woke up and saw that it was already a quarter past eight.
Rawbin quickly rushed to the bathroom and took a bath. Then he started dressing up. Donning the clothes he picked randomly.
It’s a baby blue polo shirt with white stripes and straight-cut jeans. He grabbed his favorite slip-on, put them on, and faced the mirror.
He combed his hair, leaving it down then sprayed some perfume. He secured his wallet in his back pocket, grabbed his phone, and ran down the stairs.
“Rawbin, slow down!” his mom called.
He kissed her cheek and smiled at her. “Good morning Mom, bye!” Then he almost ran out of the house.
“Rawbin, come back!” and he can’t ignore that authoritative voice. He forgot that he was at the veranda every morning, having his coffee and reading the Sunday paper.
“Yes, dad?” he asked as he walked back.
“Where do you think you’re going, young man?” he asked as he placed down the newspaper.
“I’m attending a mass, dad,” He answered truthfully and they were both shocked.
Rawbin’s dad almost choked on his coffee while his mom walked over to him, touching his head and neck. Then they both looked at each other as if he just said the biggest joke they ever heard.
“Honey, are you sick?” his mom asked in a worried tone.
“Mom!” he blurted out. “Do I only attend masses when I’m sick?” he chuckled but to his surprise, she nodded in confirmation.
“Sorry son, pardon your mom’s reaction. It’s just that it’s so not you,” his dad said.
“It’s actually a date, Dad. I asked a girl to go with me and attend a mass,” he explained. He saw how his father’s forehead creased slowly and his mom’s smile broadened.
“I have to meet that girl,” she stated.
“You will mom when she says yes,” he grinned at her before asking their permission to leave and he left right away when both of them nodded.
Rawbin immediately rang the doorbell when he reached Lemon’s place and Gemma opened it for him. “Good morning, I’m here for Lemon,” he told her.
“Get in Rawbin, I’ll call her,” then the woman turned her back on him, but after a few steps, she stopped to look at him again. “You look really handsome!” she exclaimed before she continued to walk in. “Sit down, make yourself comfortable, I’ll just call her.”
After a while, Gemma came down followed by Lemon. Rawbin’s jaw almost dropped literally when he saw her.
Her hair was braided neatly on the side, exposing her beautiful features. She’s also wearing a baby blue floral dress and ballet flats.
“Wow! You look really good, Rawbin!” she blurted out and he automatically smiled. He doesn’t even know what his smile looked like but he doesn’t give a damn.
‘But what exactly was good? My outfit? The smell of my perfume? My hairstyle? Or maybe the random slip-on I’m wearing?’
Regardless, he just got complimented, by her, and his heart swelled. Maybe that’s why he can’t wipe the smile off of his face.
“Good morning,” he managed to utter without his voice shaking.
“Good morning! You’re really eye-catching!” and another praise, he wanted to say something but then someone spoke.
“Madam, come, you need to see this,” it was Dahlia who had just come out of the dining area.
“What is it dear?” emerging from the dining, Tori was about to sip from her cup of coffee but she stopped midway and looked at them.
“Good morning,” greeting Lemon’s mother with a smile.
“Are you sure you’re attending a mass? You two looked like you were posing for an expensive brand of clothing! You looked like models! Not to mention the color combination huh!” Tori commented as she looked back and forth between her daughter and Rawbin.
“Yeah mom, we’re really going to attend a mass,” Lemon responded with a smile.
“Do you really have to go in matching colors?” Kale popped out of nowhere. “I hope Homme and the rest of the guys see you~”
“What do you mean?” Lemon asked, obviously surprised and confused.
“I got a text from him, he’s asking if I want to join them. They’re attending the 10 AM mass but I saw it late so I can’t come,” he explained.
‘Homme and the rest of the guys are attending the mass? The same time as us? All of a sudden?’
As far as he knows, they didn’t have any plans yesterday. ‘Do they have plans of sabotaging our date?’ Hopefully not, besides, there’s no reason for them to do that.
“We’ll go ahead mom or we’ll be late,” Lemon told her as she kissed her on the cheek then she turned to Rawbin. “Let’s go?” He nodded and gestured towards the door.
“Auntie, we’ll go ahead,” Rawbin told her mom before he followed Lemon out.
“Take care of my fille, young man. Make sure you bring her home,” Tori reminded him, to which he turned to nod.
“Yes, Auntie, I will,” he assured her before getting out of the house. He opened the door of the car for Lemon when they reached it and asked the driver to take them to church.
Rawbin was a bit nervous but excited. He hopes this isn’t the last time they’re doing this. He hopes.
