As times went by, they were still in a deadlock. Xia Weiwei constantly looked up at her child, extremely worried. “Even if the rope weren’t loosened, Jingnian would die of cerebral congestion if it went on like this. He just came out of the surgery!” Xia Weiwei could not wait any longer because she couldn’t afford to bet the chance.
She pushed Luo Chejue aside and went forward. “Xia Mo, what can I do to make you spare my child?”
Xia Mo threw a knife at her feet. “If you killed yourself, I would let off this little bastard.”
Luo Chejue pulled Xia Weiwei behind his back and said to Xia Mo, with a gloomy and spine-chilling look, “Xia Mo, you’re digging your own grave!”
“Hah-hah! If I died, I would bring Xia Weiwei along with me! Xia Weiwei, do it now! My patience is wearing thin!”
“Jue,” Xia Weiwei bent down and picked up the knife, then blocked Luo Chejue who was trying to snatch the knife from her. “I can’t see Jingnian get injured again! I can’t let him leave me again!”
“Weiwei!”
Xia Mo’s patience was about to run out. Interactions between these two could only make her go mental. She urged, “Hurry up! Don’t even try to buy time! Believe it or not, I can smash this half-dead bastard’s head right away!” With that, she put her hand on the rope knot to threaten them.
Xia Weiwei was afraid that she might actually pull the rope, she replied in haste, “I’ll kill myself! Please don’t hurt my child!” She then turned to look at the love of her life, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Jue, if it weren’t for the misunderstandings four years ago, perhaps our family could have stayed together. I’m sorry! You’re going to lose me again. Please take care of Jingnian and Shengsheng.”
After that, she immediately took the knife to cut her throat, but the knife was grabbed by Luo Chejue with bare hands. Blood gushed out in a second. “I said I’d never let you go!”
He then turned to Xia Mo, “Xia Mo! If you can let off my son, I promise I’ll let pass what’s happened before, I’ll have you cured and send you abroad with a large sum.”
When Xia Mo saw the blood, excitement flashed across her eyes, and she instinctively put out her tongue to lick her lips. She could not care less about what Luo Chejue had promised her. At the thought that blood would rush out of Xia Weiwei’s neck later, she became more impatient. “Cut the crap! I want nothing but Xia Weiwei’s life! It looks like you two don’t care for this bastard at all, so don’t blame me for doing this!”
With a slight pull, the loose knot was immediately untied, then Luo Jingnian fell straight to the ground.
“Ah—!” Xia Weiwei cried out in horror. The next second, Luo Chejue acted nimbly and stepped forward. He managed to catch the child by a narrow scrape!
However, Xia Mo had been waiting for this moment! Her plan was to distract Luo Chejue with the child, then kill Xia Weiwei by surprise!
In a blink of an eye and despite the extreme pain of her legs, Xia Mo took another knife out of her sleeve and dashed toward Xia Weiwei. Xia Weiwei surely did not have enough time dodge it and could only see the sharp knife coming close at her. Xia Mo shouted, with a contented smile on her face, “Go to hell!”
She thrust the knife forward and blood splashed on her face instantly.
“Weiwei!”
The moment Xia Weiwei opened her eyes, she saw Yan Shaoxuan on the ground, his hands covering his abdomen.
“Yan Shaoxuan! Why?” Xia Mo fell to the ground too, with her clothes stained by blood. She shot a resentful stare at Yan Shaoxuan, blaming him for showing up from nowhere and stopping her.
“Shaoxuan!” Until then did Xia Weiwei come to her senses. She held him hurriedly, yet her hands felt his blood gushing out incessantly, sticky and warm.
Yan Shaoxuan panted with difficulty. “Weiwei, are… are you all right?”
Xia Weiwei shook her head with tears all over her face. “I’m fine. Please don’t waste your strength on talking. You’ll be fine too. You have to!”
“Don’t cry.” He caressed her face and said, “Don’t say sorry to me. You don’t owe me anything. I want nothing else, but to… to see you happy.”
“Shaoxuan! Please stop! I’m begging you! I know your heart. It’s all my fault. I’m so sorry!” As a matter of fact, Yan Shaoxuan had become a very important person in her life. If anything happened to him, Xia Weiwei would never forgive herself!
Xia Mo was right! She was nothing but a disaster!
