Chapter 40: Why Aren’t You Rotting in Hell

Book:A Farewell to Mr. Luo Published:2024-5-1

Lin Yu showed up as expected the next day. She found it extremely hard to believe her eyes when she saw Xia Weiwei, but she soon collected herself and somewhat connected the dots at the sight of that pretty little girl in Luo Chejue’s arms.
Xia Weiwei could not help sneering when they arrived at the place. The house Xia Mo had been living in was once the home of Xia Weiwei and Luo Chejue. Xia Weiwei almost threw up at the thought of what Luo Chejue had told her earlier. He was forcibly keeping her and Shengsheng around when Xia Mo, the current Mrs. Luo, was still living in this house. Was Luo Chejue planning to treat her as his lover and Shengsheng his unlawful daughter?
“Mommy, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Shengsheng, will you stand close to me a bit later?” said Xia Weiwei while she tightened her grip on Shengsheng.
At the doorway, Lin Yu reminded her, “Mrs. Luo, you better be prepared.”
“Don’t worry about me.” She would not flinch at all no matter what Xia Mo might say or do. She was no longer her former self four years ago!
Without saying anything else, Lin Yu gestured to the bodyguard there to open the door.
Xia Weiwei was totally clueless about what Lin Yu was suggesting when she said “get prepared” until she actually caught sight of Xia Mo.
This was Xia Mo? How was that even possible!
Xia Weiwei was so immeasurably shocked that she was quite at a lossfor words. Before her eyes was an extremely bony woman, with tangled hair and lifeless eyes. Her arms were thickly dotted with needle marks and her clothes were ragged and crumpled as if they had been torn and ripped yet had not been changed for a century.
More importantly, with a very deep and gruesome scar on the right side of her face, she was paralyzed and lying on the ground, her legs twisted in a way that was hardly possible.
“Argh!” The shriek of Shengsheng in fright awakened Xia Weiwei. She quickly covered her eyes and caressed her gently before shooting an inquiring gaze at Lin Yu.
“Mr. Luo arranged all these four years ago.”
Four years ago? Xia Weiwei paused for a bit.
“All of these started four years ago. Mr. Luo ordered his men to draw 20 bags of her blood on the 20th of every month and then dump them before her eyes, to directly split open the skin on her right cheek, and to break her legs every month and reattach them afterward. She has been kept in here for the past four years without seeing the sun or taking any food. Several nutrient solutions injected every day is all that’s keeping her alive. But it seems she’s already gone completely round the bend.”
“Why did he do these?” Xia Weiwei could not believe what she had heard. Hadn’t he been madly in love with Xia Mo four years ago?
All of a sudden, at the thought of what Luo Chejue had said to her and at the sight of what he had done to Xia Mo, she began to shiver slightly, realizing that she might be the reason why Luo Chejue had been treating Xia Mo this way.
“This can’t be true…” She murmured, with a strange feeling surging in her heart.
“Isn’t this Miss Dead-on-the-spot, Xia Weiwei? How come you’re still alive?”
A hoarse and shrilling voice rang in the room. The moment Xia Mo saw Xia Weiwei, she was no longer quiet and lifeless, instead, she immediately put on a twisted and ferocious face somewhat like a dreadful ghost.
Xia Mo could not escape, nor could she bear the torment, so she started to feign madness and act like an idiot. She knew Lin Yu would come and check on her every month as instructed by Luo Chejue, and she managed to deceive him every time. What she did not expect was that Xia Weiwei, who was supposed to have been killed four years ago, showed up before her eyes!
In addition to that, the weirdest part was that she looked intact! Wasn’t she disfigured? Wasn’t she crippled? Why was she still alive?
The one thing that Xia Mo bore the most intense hatred towards was that she was inferior to Xia Weiwei in all aspects, for she thought she was the winner four years ago! Even if she ended up like this, she had claimed the life of Xia Weiwei! Why was she like a drowned mouse while Xia Weiwei turned up alive and well? There was no way Xia Mo could stand the sight of this.
She stared at Xia Weiwei with such a spine-chilling look in her eyes that it sent a chill down Xia Weiwei’s spine. The next second, she crawled toward Xia Weiwei like a viper, using the strength of her hands to drag her distorted legs. Her weird posture and vicious look made others’ hair stand on end.
Full of hatred and resentment, she moved so fast that she came to the feet of Xia Weiwei in the blink of an eye. She reached out her bony fingers and grabbed Xia Weiwei’s ankles, then she shouted ghastly as if she were from hell.
“Xia Weiwei! Why aren’t you rotting in hell?”
