“Mandel…” Cecily reached out and grasped his sleeve as he was ready to depart, signaling him not to anger Mr. Martin at this moment.
Mandel returned her chilly stare. He reached out, brushed Cecily’s hand away, and walked away.
“Don’t go, Mandel. Don’t do that right now…” Cecily was going to cry, pleading pitifully, but the man turned away silently.
Cecily’s heart was infected with resentment, which took root.
Regina was plainly embarrassed, but Mandel went out of his way to find her. He even dismissed Mr. Martin’s rage. What is it about Regina’s magic that fascinates Mandel?
Cecily’s eyes were tinged with jealousy. I will undoubtedly make you pay. Do you want me to stand in for Martin’s mistress? Stop daydreaming, Regina.
Regina was embarrassed as she walked down the road lined with green trees. Despite being rescued by Mandel, she went upstairs to clean herself up, but Martin’s house was so large that she was kicked out of the old house, and there was no transportation nearby.
When the servants spotted her, they avoided her like the plague, and Regina couldn’t even find someone to ask for directions. She was gone in no time.
Her heart was filled with shame. Those people’s scornful sneers rang in her ears. At night, the villa was quite cold. Regina knelt down, cradling her arm, tears running down her cheeks.
“Where are you, Mom? I really miss you…”
When she thought of her mother, the tears streamed furiously down her cheeks. She was overcome with nausea and had to rush over to a tree to dry heave.
It appeared like the baby in her womb was also uncomfortable.
Her grip on the phone became increasingly tight. Regina dialed Albert’s number after much deliberation.
The phone was answered swiftly. Regina’s armor collapsed in a moment as she heard the same warm voice as previously.
Albert became concerned when he heard her sobbing and coughing strangely. Knowing she was in Martin’s former house, he quickly muttered “wait for me,” grabbed the car keys, and exited.
The man was dressed in a slim-fitting shirt with a dark black coat draped carelessly over his arms. Mandel’s face was gloomy, with a tinge of worry between his brows.
Damn woman. Where did she go so soon?
He’d been hanging out at the old home for a while, but he’d never seen Regina.
There was no way a mischievous woman could have left the old house in such a short period of time.
Mandel’s brow furrowed. His heart felt like it was being grasped by something when he imagined her crouched like a stray cat being abused on the floor full of champagne shards.
“I’m only doing this for my child.”
Mandel rubbed his brow with his hand. He had to soothe himself in this way as he became increasingly despondent. He saw the white figure just as he was about to give up.
“Regina!”
Mandel gazed at her back, took a deep breath, and then called her name.
But, as if she hadn’t heard, the person in the distance didn’t even turn her head to get into a car.
It just took a split second for Mandel to notice that it was a white Mercedes-Benz.
He felt some familiarity.
Mandel lowered his gaze slightly. His sagging palm clutched fiercely, his sullen breath surging in the distance. His fury was not hidden in the least on his attractive face.
His long, clinched fingers clacked. Only God knew how much strength Mandel must have used to keep himself from going over and choking her to death along with the man driving the car.
His dismal air gradually faded away after a while. Mandel pulled out his phone and dialed a number. His cool voice boomed out without passion, making him appear somewhat dismal amid the silent manor.

Regina sat silently on the passenger seat, staring at her fingertips. Albert was concerned about her condition. But, because Regina had not taken the initiative to bring it up, he did not dare to inquire.
“Why am I in such a state now?” Regina glanced at Albert, and the weakness in her eyes made him nearly unappealing.
“I don’t know what happened to you, Regina, but I’ll stay with you.” Albert was so upset that he wanted to rush to the Martin family’s old mansion right now and beat up the man who had taken Regina away the last time.
His heart crinkled firmly together as he watched Regina just now. He noticed how she was struggling because of the pain in her small abdomen. He believed that individual deserved to die.
“Don’t even bring it up. Do you have a better sensation now? First, I’ll take you back to the hospital. The status of the fetus in your womb should be monitored as soon as possible.”
“The fetus?”
Her delicate fingers massaged her stomach. Regina could even feel the fetus’s breath of life in her womb. Her pale cheeks curved into a smile. Everything seemed to have lost its significance!
Did that person ever really care about her and this child?
She did not want the child to be shamed and humiliated at birth.
“Let it go! That’s destiny.”
Regina closed her eyes and stopped speaking after saying this, as if she had suddenly lost her spiritual pillar and been confused. Albert sighed as he glanced at Regina’s pale cheeks.
He would never let Regina be injured again as long as he was present.
The night passed in a daze.
Regina opened her eyes again and felt just soreness in her body. She sat up and propped herself up to see the familiar surroundings. Albert’s hospital it was. Was she in the hospital again?
Regina’s hand was almost subconsciously placed on the position of her belly to feel the existence of the fetus. But there was silence and peace, and she couldn’t feel anything. Regina’s body instantly felt frigid.
“Are you awake, Regina?” Albert entered the room carrying a bowl of meat porridge. His attractive face was depressed as he placed the bowl in his hand on the bed.
Was she still unable to let go of her child with Mandel?
“Don’t be concerned. The infant is unharmed.” Albert’s hesitant grin remained friendly and inviting. “After tossing and turning for so long, sip some porridge to warm up first,” he thoughtfully handed the spoon to Regina.
Regina accepted the spoon and porridge obediently, and the tension in her body dissipated in an instant.
Thankfully, the child was unharmed. She had almost feared she had lost the child at the time.
