Noah indicated a window that had been pushed open.
“Okay, I’ll follow you there.”
Despite her hesitation, she consented to accompany him.
In the promenade.
Noah entered a room with the door wide open. Regina paused for a beat. Just near the door, she was suddenly pulled in by a pair of hands.
Her palms ached as she fell to the chilly floor.
“Bang!”
The door was slammed shut.
The room was completely dark. Regina could barely see a person in front of her with only a dim brightness from the drapes.
She couldn’t see anything else.
“Where the hell is my mom? She’s not even here!”
Regina quickly realized. Her eyes widened slightly and she climbed up quickly.
She was ready to flee out the door when she was stopped. Her bones ached all over as she fell heavily to the ground.
“Snapped.”
The lights were turned on, and the room was bathed in light.
Noah’s eyes were filled with thick malice at the bottom. In the room that was seeping incomparably, he produced a weird laugh.
“I’m sure you’re not insane. You are not required to act in front of me.”
After hearing this.
Noah’s eyes widened in surprise. He squatted on the ground and grinned at Regina.
There was a faint hint of fear in her heart.
“What do you intend to accomplish by duping me into coming here?”
Regina squeezed her hand, piercing the soft flesh with her sharp nails. Her anxiety was immediately relieved by the pain.
“Of course, I want revenge.”
Noah was no longer masked, yet he had a more terrible smile than a crazy.
“I despise Mandel. Why should he be able to be normal while I have to disguise myself as insane? Everyone was frightened to approach me, so I was confined to a small, gloomy chamber.”
His tone became increasingly agitated as each syllable tumbled out, and his eyes filled with venom.
Regina was astonished and terrified, but she could only force herself to relax.
“Then why did you trick me into coming here? Since you hate Mandel, seek revenge on him.”
“No, of course it matters.”
Noah reached out and patted Regina’s face hard.
“Because I know you and he have a wonderful relationship. He genuinely cares about you, and while I can’t cope with him, I can deal with you.”
Noah snorted and looked to loathe himself for his actions.
And in the next second.
He slapped her across the face instead.
Regina’s entire body was pounded and she collapsed. She could feel blood streaming from the corner of her lips, her left cheek swelled beyond recognition, and the ferocious pain.
“You have misinterpreted something, Noah. Mandel has no compassion for me, let alone so-called caring.”
Regina said as she endured the pain.
“I don’t think so. Because I’ve never seen a woman who could bring up his feelings. He was about to kill me the last time he looked at me. And you dare to deceive me.”
Noah chuckled and slapped her once more. The slap sounded exceptionally clear and booming in the air.
“Oh, there’s one more thing I can tell you. It’s hard to reclaim the justice you received two years ago with your current power.”
Noah was about to beat her again when Regina suddenly gained strength and slammed into Noah’s abdomen.
“Boom!”
Noah collapsed to the ground, his abdomen throbbing.
He raised his eyes to Regina, who smiled triumphantly. Despite the fact that her face was swollen and miserable.
Her eyes, however, shone brighter than light.
“You appear to be rather average as well.”
Regina lifted her chin slightly. This was still due to her two years in prison. Her strength and striking skills had improved slightly in order to keep the other female detainees from being brutally assaulted.
Noah’s eyes twinkled with curiosity “Do you think if you scream now, no one will pay attention to you, Regina? They’ll just dismiss it as me going insane.”
“I’m sure the secret that you’re not insane would like to be revealed, and I can help you with that.”
Regina regarded the man in front of her with suspicion. Her brow was drenched in fine, sticky sweat. Her hands were moist and greasy, and the pain throughout her body seemed to have faded.
She had to escape.
Noah’s eyes narrowed slightly, and they were filled with danger.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
Regina’s eyes widened with hope as he yelled towards the door, “Save me…”
A pair of big hands squarely covered her mouth, forcing her to swallow the last of her words.
“What are you doing in there?”
Outside the door, there came a low seductive but indifferent voice.
It was Mandel!
A glint of resolve flashed across her eyes. She bit Noah’s hand hard. While he let go, she yelled, “Mandel!” towards the door.
The door was forcibly kicked open shortly after.
When Regina saw the familiar figure, her heart flooded with peace. She couldn’t help but yell at him again.
“Help me!”
At the next moment.
She was sucked into a warm, strong embrace. Her ears were ringing with noise, and she couldn’t help but turn to the side.
Noah was thrown to the ground. He didn’t get up, but instead banged his head all the way to the floor with a nasty face.
His clean forehead was a little bloodied.
Mandel, however, did not intend to leave.
Regina gritted her teeth and hugged Mandel’s waist as she stared at the insane Noah “I’m terrified. Fortunately, you arrived…”
“I’m already here. Don’t worry.”
Mandel’s tone was soft, but there was a glint of doubt in his eyes.
When Noah looked up, the two men had gone.
The enormous living area, which featured massive crystal lamps suspended from the ceiling, emitted a soothing glow.
At this time, the atmosphere was oppressively silent.
Mandel’s face was expressionless, and his thin lips were pursed tightly. Looking at the high swelled wound on her face, he scowled slightly.
“Why don’t you just stay in the old house?”
The man’s eyes were incomparably dismal, filled with feelings she couldn’t decipher, like a raged cheetah.
“Why should I listen to you?”
Mandel’s glare stiffened Regina. Her voice was strained, and she turned around to leave.
Mandel’s eyes narrowed slightly. A vision of a white wedding gown appeared in his head…
His expression suddenly became serious.
“Do you want to see Noah instead? Are you concerned about losing your position as Miss Martin?”
His voice was devoid of any hint of heat. Nonetheless, she could hear the man’s rage.
Regina’s wrist was grabbed by Mandel. His brow furrowed in rage.
“Remember this, Regina. You have not only served time in prison, but you have also voluntarily sold your virginity. I will not allow you to marry into the Martin family. You will only bring it dishonor.”
Mandel remarked coldly, without a sign of emotion in his eyes.
Regina tightened her hand. Her white teeth nipped her lips, a little blood oozing out.
His words slashed deep into her heart like a knife.
