“More!” Layton demanded again and Gemini frowned. Just as Strider took out the fifth syringe Gemini stopped him.
“Lay you have to stop this is not healthy.” Layton shoved Gemini’s hand off of his shoulder.
“I am the leader and I can’t risk being weak.” As Layton reached out for the syringe Gemini stopped him again.
“You already look ill, just look at your bloody nose.” Layton placed his fingers on his nose and noticed some spots of blood.
“That is enough!” Gemini yelled which annoyed Layton.
“I am your alpha and you should obey me!!” Gemini didn’t listen neither did her wolf.
“I am your wife and you better listen.” There was tension between them.
“Don’t you see I need this!!” Layton yelled but Gemini refused.
“I know you need this but if you take more of it you will end up dying so tell me what would be the use if you do?!” Layton paused.
“I am not a human so I can handle it.”
“You can’t even heal as fast as you used to so tell me what’s the difference!” Strider watched the two argue.
“Strider hand me the medication now!!” Layton yelled, Gemini was only trying to assist her husband but it seemed his reaction wouldn’t see it.
“Do not give it to him, c that enough Lay you’ll hurt yourself. ” Layton groaned.
“I have been through worse things than this, this reaction on its own ache’s.”
“What makes you think this will help? This medication won’t work immediately/you have to wait.” Layton felt defeated he himself didn’t find that energy to argue with her.
“It’s still okay, you can stay in if you are afraid of an attack.”
“It’s not me I am worried of, it’s the others. These things are unpredictable everyone has their own side effects.” Gemini didn’t know of any of it but she still tried to calm Layton down. Layton got from his seat.
“I need a drink.” He told Strider and he immediately left leaving the two together. She walked to him.
“I know it’s hard for you but you also have to understand, if you die they will not have an alpha to lead them so please that not about it first.” Layton accepted Gemini’s words and calmed himself down.
“All you need is to be careful cause the medication won’t be helpful.” Layton walked to the girl and shared a quick kiss.
“I knew you understood me but I just fear I might not be able to protect you.” She kissed his hands.
“it is okay you don’t always have to after all I am a leader too so I better represent.” He smiled.
“You are a wonderful leader and person.” They both smiled. Strider ran in breaking the moment. He handed Layton the glass of water.
“Sir it might be a problem most members are changing it looks like it will be worse this time.”
“Just make sure no one leaves or wanders off, we don’t want to draw attention.” Strider nodded then left, too didn’t know what would happen to himself but he feared it wouldn’t be worse.
After a long argument with Layton the past night Gemini thought of taking a short walk around the streets, this time she went with one of the guards. She stared at the tall buildings remembering her past.
“I never thought you would come back.” A voice said behind her and she turned. A huge smile crept on her face.
“Jacob, what are you doing here?” Gemini ran and embraced the boy.
“I was sent here by Layton, he said he wanted me to do some work for him but I am aware he sent me here cause of you.” She let go of the boy and fixed her wrinkled dress.
“What do you mean? He didn’t do that cause of me.” Jacob assured her.
“He thought we would get really close so he had to move me but I understand him.” Gemini frowned as Jacob laughed. She thought it was very immature for Layton to do such things.
“Where is Layton? I don’t think he would love the idea of you walking around.”
“He went out and he did Luke it at all so he found someone to look after me,” Gemini said pointing at the distant man.
“You want to go talk inside? The sun is killing me.” Gemini blocked the sun’s fierce heat with her arm. They walked back to the buildings where they took their seats in the large living room. Strider took his time to admire the textures.
“Such beauty, it’s so mysterious on how Layton covers his expenses.” Gemini thought the same too, she handed her childhood friend a cup of tea.
“I shouldn’t take that long.” Jacob sipped on his tea and finished it all in one gulp.
“You just visited please just stay a little longer after all Layton won’t be back soon.”
“Oh no Layton is the least of my problems.” Gemini had to pour more tea for the boy.
“Then stay if Layton isn’t much of a worry.” They had a little chat about their past then went back to the present.
“So how is your marriage.” Gemini smiled at the question.
“It’s alright but there are just some things I don’t know about him but of course I am learning.
