“About what exactly?”
“You being careful. Other than Andrea there will be more people who will try and attack you.” Gemini agree but the thought of Andrea came to her mind.
“What happened to Andrea? Is she okay?” Strider remembered the little issue that happened. He did go and visit her since she was still a close friend of his.
“She’s doing fine.”
“Does she still hate me?” Feeling a little guilty the girl still had to ask and the male nodded.
“She heard of your little wedding and now she hates you more.” If not for Strider stopping the furious girl she would have made her way to the council and would have gotten really hurt.
“I just don’t understand, she was the one who left him why the need to hate me.” Strider sighed.
“It’s more complicated than you think. She’s been through a lot.” Gemini wished Andrea and her were friends, she didn’t like to have enemies at all especially at a time like this.
“But what does it have to do with me?
“look am not really sure maybe you should ask Layton those questions if I answer more of your questions it’ll get ugly.” Gemini knew Strider didn’t like to talk like Layton but she did expect him to tell her everything she needed to know.
“How am I supposed to trust Layton or you if you tell me nothing. I don’t want to be attacked every day Strider it’s more exhausting than you think.” Gemini yelled, she didn’t know what made her so angry and stressed. She was however furious that Layton wouldn’t trust her but hid stuff from her.
“I would advise you that whatever he is doing is for your safety and well-being and I would strongly beg you to not go against him, he may be your husband but he’s still your alpha and you should respect him.” Strider saw past the girl and how she was taking advantage of his sudden kindness. He honestly didn’t like any of it at all. Luckily Layton walked down the stairs and into the living room. Strider stood up.
“What are you doing here?” Layton asked staring at his wife.
“I have some news for you, sir.” He took one more look at his wife hoping Strider didn’t say anything wrong to her. Layton nodded then they walked to the library room where they took their seat.
“You know your wife is doubting you.” Layton turned to him, he did know why but he felt a little concerned. He grew very close to her and had a certain type of bond with her.
“What did she say?”
“Not much, she just wanted to know about you and Andrea’s relationship.” Layton thought.
“What did you tell her?”
“Nothing really. Guess Andrea’s going to her head.” Strider chuckled but Layton frowned, he didn’t find that any amusing.
“We still tried to locate the other packs as it bothered me.” Layton had completely forgotten and felt very stupid for that.
“The results? What did you find?” The beta took a deep painful breath in.
“None. As I said before we didn’t find anything. We even extended our search but didn’t find anything again.” Layton laid his head against his arm.
“What about the East?” Strider thought.
“No word but we didn’t take our search, however.” His head started to ache, he had to deal with Gemini and didn’t want any more trouble.
“Well then go get some members and make your search and tell me if it all goes wrong or right.” Strider nodded, he got up and headed for the door. He did want to speak up about his weakness but couldn’t.
Strider left and Layton made his way to his wife who was watching TV.
“Hey.” She smiled at him signaling him to a seat next to her so he did.
“So you won’t tell me about your parents and won’t tell me what happened between you and Andrea.”
“I don’t know what Andrea told you but Gem as I said I told you the truth and nothing but the truth.” Gemini sighed then nodded but was still upset.
Layton walked to Hunter’s site. Layton turned as he heard a voice call out to him.
“Sir a woman was found dead this morning some few meters away.” Hunter breathed out hesitantly. Questions roamed inside Layton’s head.
“what happened and how?!” He yelled out. “Do you know who she is or which pack she is from?” He lastly said before staring at the papers in Hunter’s hands.
“Am not really sure who she is. I couldn’t examine her there were just too many people at the scene.” Layton thought, he knew he had to go there himself.
“I’ll go examine just make sure no one invades our territory.” The alpha spoke up.
“I’ll come with you, you might need a tech person,” Hunter suggested but Layton refused.
” No need for that, I’ll go with Strider so there’s no need for you to come.” Hunter disappointedly nodded. Layton made it easy back to the house where Strider and Gemini were.
“We have to go now we don’t have much time.” He turned to Strider.
“Where exactly may I ask?”
“Murder happened but we don’t know if she is one of us.” Strider nodded not wanting to ask more questions.
