“Your awake,” Layton said in his sleepy tone which surprised her. She looked up at him.
“How did you know?” Layton laid his arm over his eyes then groaned.
“Could you close the darn curtains they’re hurting my eyes?” She did notice the curtains and realized they weren’t closed since last night. She got up and closed them then later went under the covers.
“Thought you said we shouldn’t do this.” She smiled at him.
“I got impatient.” They both laughed.
“What happens if I get pregnant?” He thought. Layton as always was always careful when he did things, to him strategy always wins.
“You won’t. Yet.” She laughed.
“And what exactly do you mean? These things are unpredictable.” He sighed.
“To me, they are as I said you won’t for now.” Gemini saw it was too early for this. She expected Layton to know, she didn’t want him to be surprised when she gets pregnant.
“It’s too early for this Layton. Just cause you’re an alpha it doesn’t mean….”
“I know myself more than you know yourself Gem now stop complaining. I don’t know why you’re getting upset.” He cut her off and she had to accept after she wouldn’t let such a little issue ruin her perfect day.
“I have to go to work.” He got up annoyed.
“Why do you have to go to work anyway?”
“To get more Monet and to minimize suspicion.” Gemini did admire Layton’s thinking and wished to think like him. He went to take a short shower then returned.
“Why were the police investigating us or the pack?” The words slipped out of Gemini’s mouth.
“I don’t really know but I guess it’s a cause of the boundary issue.”
“Boundary issue?”
“Just forget about it, it’s not important they’ll go away.” She nodded.
“What about Jones? I heard him a problem too.” He turned to her.
“Were all these questions coming from? Did something happen.” Layton did find it strange of her, she had never asked him these types of questions but she denied it.
“Nothing happened, I was just curious.”
“You so need to know about then as long as you’re here and with Strider but do not get involved with either side.” He strictly warned.
“I was just asking.” Layton nodded.
“True but don’t let that curiosity get the best of you. In other words, do not go poking in their business, I don’t want them targeting you.” She thought.
“But am a leader aren’t I so can’t I help out?” His fists tighten.
“No, you can’t cause you are not ready.” She was disappointed.
“I am ready.”
“I am not asking you Gem am commanding you and don’t forget you still have to obey me.” The girl frowned, she thought he had changed.
Months passed and Layton finally decided to wed Gemini since the two had grown really close. They weren’t going to have a fancy wedding as it would draw unwanted attention. They drove to the city council where they had a short but sweet elopement then finally had their wedding certificate.
“All you have to do is sign here.” Some male said pointing at the pieces of clipped papers and the two couples nodded then signed the papers. Gemini was excited that she was now married.
“It’s all alright now. Congratulations.” They both nodded. They made their back to their home.
“Do you finally trust me?” She asked with a smile on her face. Layton raised a brow.
“What do you mean?”
“Thought you couldn’t marry me cause you didn’t trust me.” He chuckled.
“I kind of do.” Gemini crossed her arms.
“Kind of? Well, that’s not fair.” He smiled even more.
“But I need you to be careful, you being my wife now would make you an easy target.” He said.
“Alright I will, you don’t always have to tell me.”
On the other side, Strider walked with his favorite queen Andrea and they had a little chat.
“You know you’re already injured and you still want to go make a scene and get injured again.” Andrea rolled her eyes.
“I do what I want Antony I don’t need counseling please.” Strider nodded.
“I know but you should take some time to think, if it wasn’t for Gemini you would have been dead so she does deserve some credit from you.” Andrea didn’t like Luke the way Strider talked to her. She felt he didn’t respect her as he used to.
“So you’re starting to like her now.” Strider nodded.
“No am just saying you should thank her.” Andrea felt disgusted by his words.
“Strider please spare me your guilt! I don’t hate her cause of her, I hate her cause of him. In fact, I don’t want to speak of them right now alright!!” He nodded, he was only still friends with her since he understood her however he wouldn’t and won’t get involved in any of her doings.
“It’s still a shame you won’t rise against her. We would have made a pretty good team.” Strider accepted but his royalty was with Layton, after all, he did save his life a couple of times and that is how he lost his beloved mate. Rose was always by Striders side and he did love her a lot but fate took her away from him.
