Chapter 46

Ella stood front and center, and she let out a scream of terror when the curtain opened to reveal the monstrous visage of the play’s antagonist.
“Argh!!!!!!!!!!”
The wolf reached out, seized her by the throat, and yanked her out of the carriage. Forcing Ella to the ground violently, the wolf was going to scrape its claws over her face when he felt a stronger set of claws plunge into his back.
The claws ached so much that he grunted in agony and collapsed to his knees. Not even the King’s servants had to inform him who it was. The King had the strongest claws of anybody.
When Spenser spotted the dummy attempting to harm Ella, he was filled with a fury he couldn’t explain.
Bringing his claws out of his skin, he scratched the rogue’s face and neck till the rogue fell the dead on the floor, a new type of death.
The remaining bandits began to flee.
Ella was out of breath as she peered at the Alpha King who stood before her.
When King Spenser’s wolf got too near to Ella, his furs touched her skin. Suddenly, he sensed a strange tranquility, which caused him to emerge from his beastly state and gaze at Ella with such keeness. And Ella felt it, too – that chill.
She sensed the dying of his bloodlust in his eyes as he turned to stare at her again. Something extraordinary had occurred, and she could sense the resulting profound calm.
King Spenser, who had been worrying about the impossibility of reverting to human form, was surprised to find that the transition was very simple.
He rushed inside the carriage and changed into his nude form.
Jeremy, seeing the King had changed, rode off to get a huge piece of cloth. He entered the carriage quickly and saw the king bleeding from the side.
“Spenser?”
He exclaimed in utter shock.
Spenser made a little grunting sound as though in discomfort.
Jeremy affirmed, after sniffing about, that “whatever scratched you, must have poisoned his claws.”
Indignant, Spenser huffed. “Jeremy, how awful is it? “Asked he.
“I’m not sure. But I fear it might worsen significantly if we delay getting you to a doctor. ”
“Okay, let’s get going. Let us return to the royal residence. ” He attempted to convince Jeremy that “Mato can treat me over there” before the latter firmly shook his head.
“That’s where you’re wrong, King. I’m worried you won’t survive the journey to the palace. Get to a healer immediately; your health is in danger. ”
The worry on his mind was not evident on his face as he said, “I believe there is a healer around here – one I know of. Do you have faith in her?” Jeremy said. ”
“Yes. Yes. Indeed, she’s very competent. ” After the guard stated, “One of the enemy are alive,” Jeremy jumped out of the carriage and ran over to where the rogue was lying, breathing faintly on the floor from his wounds.
“Tie him up and carry him along,” Jeremy shouted, and the guard agreed.
“We go that way!” He said, “The King needs a healer,” and the group mounted their steeds.
After getting the signal, Ella went back to the carriage and was taken aback to see the King in such a vulnerable situation.
The side of his abdomen was bleeding, and she could see that his breath was growing shorter, but she restrained herself from calling out, “My King.”
Clearly, this was a result of the conflict. King Spenser moved closer to the window, trying to take in the pains, without looking at her.
He was not the weak-willed sort, and he had no intention of changing that now, but Ella’s worries were justified since she knew the King was in considerable discomfort.
She wanted to reach out and touch him, to reassure him, but she lacked the nerve to.
She stutter-spoke,
“Is… Is there anything I can do to help?” However, Spenser did not respond. She did nothing but sit quietly as the carriage began moving.
They weren’t in it for long before it stopped, and Ella hoped that meant they’d arrived at the healer’s place.
Almost quickly, the door opened, and Jeremy appeared.
“We are here now, King,” he said. With a hand on Spenser’s shoulder, he ushered him out of the carriage and into the dilapidated dwelling that stood before them.
After venturing outside, Ella’ discovered there was just the healer’s home in the immediate area. A wrinkled old lady hurried out of it.
What the heck is going on, she thought to herself.
“We need your assistance, healer,” Jeremy said as he and Spenser headed out the door.
“oh my god. That’s the King!” ”
Quickly, she pushed the door open so that they could squeeze in. Ella walked inside with Jeremy and the King as the rest of the guards stayed outside.
The lady inquired as she followed into the sparsely furnished living room.
Ella could tell the home had several rooms since it had a stairway. Jeremy had looked for a place to sleep but came up empty.
the lady said, “Please, bring him here,” she ushered around the corner to a door. Upon entering, they saw a bed.
Since the King was already unconscious, she assisted Jeremy in placing him on the bed. In any case, King Spenser was a big dude. It would be difficult to carry him single-handedly.
In an instant, a younger woman appeared in the doorway, a woman of about the same height as Ella.
