Chapter 12

Book:Her Lost Love Published:2024-5-1

Branden POV
“Good morning sir” my house keeper greeted politely.
I walked past her in silence, I was in no mood to exchange greetings with anyone. There’s nothing good about this fucking morning. I feel completely empty and withdrawn. Nothing fucking matters and I had no idea someone’s absence would take such a huge turn on my mood. It wasn’t just my mood but it felt like part of my soul was missing.
I was very certain I had no feelings for Diana but I don’t know why I can’t get her off my mind.
I stepped into my brown tinted Mercedes Benz. I was bothered, worried, empty, restless and uneasy. I could barely concentrate on anything or anyone.
“Good morning sir…. you were scheduled for a meeting this morning” my driver uttered politely with his eyes set on me through the drivers mirror.
He stared at me for a while.
“Well? Fucking drive!” I ordered and he ignited the engine immediately.
The fuck is wrong with you all. I’m not in the mood for your fucking greetings. Just take me to where I need to be. I don’t need your fucking good mornings
Minutes later we arrived at the business center and I stepped into the huge skyscraper with my bodyguard who held my briefcase.
I stepped into the meeting room to meet several co partners of Branden enterprises seated, listening to the presentation of a fellow co partner to Branden enterprises.
All eyes were fixed on me, my aura ushered in a different atmosphere. Not to brag but I was the biggest and the wealthiest among other enterprises that partnered with mine.
At the middle of four seats opposite each other was a huge long mahogany table.
“Welcome Mr Branden we’ve been expecting you” a voice said from the table.
“Thank you” I replied coldly and took a seat.
“So where were we? Yes…. So I said this particular strategy would require a whooping sum of 2. 5 billion dollars to boost us. As I recall in year 2018 we had a loss of 14 billion dollars and it surpassed our yearly income of about 9 billion dollars. We had to pay off a debt of about $5 billion. But this year with this particular strategy….”
I should probably visit Diana or something but I don’t want to bug her or disturb her. The distance between us is already too much I don’t need more distance. I don’t want her to run farther from me.
She isn’t replying messages neither is she returning my calls. I should probably send my bodyguard to check up on her and give her some things. It’s been a month but I still feel restless as though we had a fallout days ago. I know it wasn’t my fault but it felt like I had made a mistake by letting her go. Although I had no choice, I wasn’t going to lie to her anyways. She deserves to know the truth but she doesn’t deserved to be hurt. Seeing her hurt even hurts me more.
“Mr Branden? you haven’t said anything” a co partner uttered which made all eyes find their way to me once more.
Oh come on?! must I comment to every thing?
Well i couldn’t blame them because I always gave important strategies and suggestions that always worked but today was different.
“Uhmmm yeah he has said it all” I replied
Everyone at the table began exchanging whispers and chatters.
“What’s wrong with Mr Branden today he seems off” a lady at the table whispered into the ears of her colleague.
“He is probably heartbroken, a lady must have shattered his heart or you lost a huge amount of money” she whispered back.
“SHUT THE FUCK UP” antagonized by their impertinent remarks my wrath let loose and I unleashed it on them.
I had no idea I was already on my feet and all eyes were on me. There was abrupt silence in the meeting room.
I took in a deep breath and exhaled, cooling down my boiling rage, I sat back on my seat and the meeting continued after minutes of silence.
Fuck! this bitches really know how to get on my nerves and I’m ready to put them in their places.

Diana’s POV
Two mild knocks greeted my door.
I stood up from the couch and approached the door.
“Creek” the door opened and I regretted it immediately.
Bloody hell! What the fuck does he want again and what’s with him visiting people uninvited and unannounced?
“Diana” Sylvester uttered. His countenance calm and friendly nevertheless i wasn’t interested in speaking to him neither did I want to see him.
I shut the door in irritation.
“I’m not in the mood to exchange words with you so please go away” I uttered and walked back to the couch.
“I just want to talk!! I’m sorry for everything!” Sylvester yelled from the other side of the door, his voice loud and clear as it hit the walls of my ears
If I ignored him I’m pretty sure he wasn’t going to leave, he has this persuasive aura around him that no matter what, he will persuade continuously till you give in.
I stood up, walked back to the door and opened it.
“What do you want?” i questioned, unable to hide my irritation.
“I just want to talk, please” he pleaded.
I rolled my eyes and opened the door, giving him access into the house.
We both sat and began discussing.
“Diana I’m really sorry for everything, It took me time to realize that I’ve been acting inappropriate all this while. I hope you can forgive me for my unacceptable behaviors…” he apologized.
My feeling of disgust for him began to creep out as I watched him plead continuously for my forgiveness.
I never really hated him I just disliked his actions. I guess he is back to his senses.
“It’s fine Sylvester” I replied. Asides the perverted side of him he was quite a sensible person.
Minutes went by and we began discussing on several issues.
“Let’s go have a drink” he suggested. His eyes sparkled and gazed at me
It wouldn’t be a bad idea though, I was off from work and I had literally no where to go. Besides, I needed something to take my mind off Branden.
“Sure” I replied languorously. My emotions were hidden behind a plain face.
Glimpses of happiness clouded his features as he stood up to take me to his car.
I hope I don’t regret doing this, I regretted doing alot of things with or for him including giving him my number.
We walked out of my apartment and into his car. He ignited the engine and drove to a huge mildly crowded bar. Loud music from inside the building escaped through the walls and met my ears.
I stepped down from his car and began examining the creative, breathtaking initials of the bar.
“Shall we?” Sylvester said and we walked right into the bar.
