She led him inside the house, closing the door as soon as they got in. She folded her hands below her chest, staring at him. He was dressed in black shirt, the first two buttons left open and dark blue trousers. His hands were tucked into his pocket as they stared at each other. His dressing and posture oozing a deep sense of masculine sexiness. Maybe, it would have moved her few years ago, or even some months back,
“What are you doing at my house?” she asked him pointedly.
“I came to see you” he replied simply and she scoffed angrily at his calm tone.
“How did you get my address?” she asked again, and his lips raised in a smirk. He held a proud look on his face, ignoring her question.
“How are you doing? I can see you are set for work.” he stated, doing a once over of her dress again.
“Yes, and if you can excuse me, I’d like to be on my way.” she responded.
“I thought, maybe we could talk about us.” he took his hands out of his pockets, his expression becoming grim. She noticed his sudden seriousness and got intrigued. “What does he want to talk about?”
“What about us do you want to talk about?” she questioned, going over to a seat and crossing her legs on it.
He cleared his throat and stared at her eyes, making her slightly uncomfortable. She cut her gaze from his, staring at something else. “I’m sorry for what happened four years ago. I’m really sorry and I want to make things right. ” he started and she scoffed angrily.
“What happened then is in the past now, and I’m not bothered about it.” she countered.
“But -”
“What I’m bothered about is you showing up after four years and thinking that everything is how you left it some years ago.” she cut in, pointing a finger at him.
“I made you a promise that I was going to get the best life for us, for our future.” he argued further.
“Promises are meant to be broken. You left me four years ago during one of the hardest moments of my life with just a sticky note to guess what you were up to. Four years is a lot if time for people to change and move on, and fortunately, I have.”
He held a look of defeat as she finished making her speech. Winning her back was tougher than he had expected.
“But, I still love you” he used the last weapon he could think of.
“You think that would work on me again?” she gave an humorless smile at him before flipping her hair. “Guess what? I don’t love you. Not now, not anytime soon.” she got up from the chair and walked over to the door, pulling it open. “You can now leave.” She stated, pointing at the opened door.
“Is it because you’re pregnant for him?” he asked and an awkward silence fell between them. He stared at her without batting an eyelid as he walked over to her at the door.
“I know you are pregnant and you are no longer with him. I love you regardless and I’m ready to father the child.” he tried to coo her.
“Good to see that you’re pretty much updated about me. Have a nice day Mr woods.”
“We will talk some other time. Think about what I said.” Damian urged. He took his hands back into his pockets, gave her a curt nod and strolled lazily out of the house. She locked the door immediately he stepped out and leaned her back on it. It was getting increasing difficult to deal with Damian.
She heard him drive out and heaved a sigh of relief. Breathing in to calm herself, she opened the door and stepped out. She walked into her car and drive off slowly, the thought of Damian still clouding her mind.
Harry drove in and parked in the premises of Hedz company. He took his documents case and stepped out of his car, followed behind by his secretary who stepped out from his car. He had made him fly in for the meeting today. They were expected close the deal today and fly back the next day. They were both dressed smartly in black suits and tie. His secretary looked to be in his late twenty with a dirty blonde hair, striking blue eyes and a pale skin. He had chubby cheeks and a well chiseled jaw.
They both marched into the headquarters and took the elevator to the last floor.
“Do you have all the documents prepared?” Harry asked his secretary once they were alone in the elevator.
“Yes sir.” his secretary replied, patting his briefcase. They elevator soon stopped and they stepped out, walking towards the board room.
“Good morning sir” the secretary to the CEO of Hedz greeted, meeting them halfway to the meeting room.
“Good morning Raphael.” he responded, extending his hand for a handshake which Raphael took gleefully. “This is my secretary, Blake” he introduced and the two men shook hands.
“The CEO is waiting for your arrival. The meeting begins in ten minutes.” Raphael informed him and led them to the meeting room. The CEO, an elderly man was seated at one end of the table, focused deeply on the file displayed on his laptop. A cup of steamy coffee was placed on the table beside his laptop on the table. Ciara was seated on one side of the table, a earpiece plugged to her ears. Her eyes were closed and her face looked relaxed as she leaned slightly on her chair, enjoying the soothing sound the music offered. They had few minutes before their meeting with Harr comm started and she was spending the time relaxing.
“Good morning Mr Bryant” Harry greeted the CEO as he rounded the table and stretched his hand for s handshake. Mr Bryant took in hand in his, shaking him with a big smile on his face.
“Good morning Harry. You’re quite on time, a little bit early.” the CEO replied.
“Punctuality, they say is key to good business.” Harry replied and they both shared a laugh. By this time, Ciara had opened her eyes and was now staring at him. Their eyes locked and she offered him a smile which he returned.
“Nice to meet you again, Miss Ciara. Hope you have a lovely weekend?” he stretched his hand for a handshake and she took it almost immediately. Her soft small palm was in contrast to his hard large one, and somehow, it brought warmth to her.
“I had a splendid weekend. I trust you had a great one too.” she replied with a smile. He understood what she meant and nodded with a cute smile.
After the introductions, the meeting soon began.
