“A new house.” she answered at once and he stared at her in surprise. Her expression was stoic, couldn’t give away her thoughts.
“At which location?” he asked finally and she opened her mouth wide in surprise.
“Huh?”
“The location you would love to get a new house in” he answered and she still stared at him in shock.
“Are you actually serious right now, cos I wasn’t.” she finally replied after the shock had weaned off. She had just mentioned a new house for fun, she didn’t know he would take it seriously.
“Ohhhh” he mouthed “I thought you were serious about that.” he relaxed into the chair as his shoulders slumped considerably.
“I dished out the food, it’s at the dining.” she announced, leading the way out, into the dining. They both took seats at the table, digging into the meal quietly.

“I guess I’d see you on monday.” Harry spoke up. He was standing by his car in the parking area of Karen’s house. Their meal together had ended over an hour ago and he had spent the last hour chatting with her and it was now time to go.
“Huh? Monday?” she questioned, looking awfully suprised.
“Yeah. You have a presentation to make about our upcoming project.” he reminded her and she mouthed an “Oh,” realization slowing downing on her. She had forgotten that they now had to work together.
“Oh that!” she exclaimed. “I almost forgot I was to report to you.” she stated, making a quotation mark over her second sentence.
“You mean you forgot I am now your boss?” he corrected her jokingly with a raised brow and she scoffed.
“You are not my boss. I don’t think you can even pay me.” Her tone was that of pure mockery, and seeing the flushed look on his face, she knew she had hit his big ego. Her smile increased as she waited for him to make a comeback.
“How much is your monthly salary? I bet my cleaner earns more than you with two degrees.” he hit back and she fumed at him in anger. She didn’t expect such a smooth comeback from him. They stared at each other, Harry holding a triumphant grin. The look on her face showed that she was ready to pounce on him anytime soon.
“Goodbye Boss.” she bowed her head in mock respect while he continued grinning.
“I’ll see you on monday.” he winked at her and she blushed. She turned and backed him, burying her blushing face in her hands. She stood that way untill she heard him slam the door of his car before driving out. She turned and waved at him. She stood in the same position, smiling after his car had gone out of sight.
She might just have found someone she could tolerance!
The entire length of Harry’s lips were stretched into a smile as he held the steering of his car, driving through the almost busy road. It was gradually getting dark in the city of Angeles, a proof that it was already night time. Horns blasted from impatient drivers on the road who were mostly on their way home. He smiled as he recalled the events that had went down the entire day. He had spent the entire time from noon to evening with Ciara and it was totally worth it. She was jovial, intelligent, beautiful and was a great company. Ever since he met her, he had found himself thinking less about Chelsy, his ex. Most of his thoughts were now entered on her.
Her beautiful smile was stucked to his head, making him smile shamelessly anytime he thought of her.
Twenty minutes later, he arrived at the hotel where he was lodged. Parking his car securely in the private garage, he stepped out, walking towards the huge glass door leading to the executive suite. He walked in, waved at the lady at the front desk who greeted him before stepping into the elevator.
The elevator took few minutes before dinging to a stop at the last floor. She stepped out, swiped his car at the door and it opened. He stepped in and the door closed before walking over to the bed and falling on it. He was already feeling tired. Taking out his phone from his pocket, he unlocked it and scrolled to the contact list. He scoffed, staring at Jack’s number boldly displayed at the top. It’s been some days since they had that fight, and they were yet to speak to each other again.

Karen stepped out of the shower with a towel tied round her waist and another on her hair. She walked over to the wall length mirror on one side of the room and stared at protruding belly. She rubbed her right hand over it with a smile. She and her baby were doing just fine.
She creamed herself and took out a jumper she had recently bought from the wardrobe. It was big, just what she wanted for her stomach. The doorbell rang, and she turned in surprise. She wasn’t expecting any visitors, atleast not this early in the morning. She continued dressing up, ignoring the multiple ringing of the doorbell. When she was done dressing, she wore a flat sandals, picked up her phone and walked out. She wasn’t a fan of make up and only wore them when she was having a shoot.
She walked down the stairs and got to the door. By now, the ringing had reduced. Whoever was on the other side of the door must had become impatient after standing for over ten minutes without a response. She unlocked the door and pulled it open, standing face to face with someone she didn’t want to see now. Damian!
“What are you doing here, Damian?” She questioned, looking annoyed at the man who bore a smile, standing in front of her. The smile on his face irked her, and she almost slammed the door, but he quickly put his shoe in place, halting her.
“Hello, my beautiful princess.” he greeted with the same smile he had. He was unmoved by her actions. She scoffed angrily at him, staring dangerously at him, but he returned it with a smile. That was what he used to call her until four years ago. Anytime he called her that, her heart fluttered, but now, it only got her angry.
“Why are you here?” she held the door, ready to slam it on his face.
“Let’s talk inside.” he replied calmly. She folded her hands round her chest and stared at him.
“Only five minutes, cos I have questions to ask too.”
