Working together

Lola’s pov,
After thinking about it for a while she decided not to tell him. It would just stir up trouble for no reason. He would be mad at her for lying to him and it didn’t matter anyway because the moment she had accepted the mate bond she decided she would protect the werewolves. When her ring would glow up, she would just tell them she never found the werewolves because she didn’t transform. That way it was only half a lie, and she would probably get away with it. There wouldn’t be a million-dollar reward but honestly, she didn’t care anymore. She had gained something way more precious, something she never had before: a family.
So instead, she asked, “I have been thinking about what you said. That you hated this cruel role you had to play in order to keep the pack together. How would you feel about trying something new together starting with some small changes?”
Noah’s body tensed up, “What kind of changes do you mean?”
“Just small things like basic courses on how to treat your mate, weekly meetings with the pack where they can tell the luna or alpha about things they are struggling with. Ow and I was thinking about a way to create unity between the different packs. You want them to bond so deeply that they would do anything for each other. If you look at the army for example, through training the recruits establish a strong bond because of the hard conditions they have to pull each other through. What if you did something similar with the packs but from a young age? So, all the kids from all the packs train together in an intense course with follow-ups every year.”
Lola stopped her rambling and turned around. Noah looked at her with a blank face and she got nervous that he thought her ideas were ridiculous. He stayed silent for a while before a smile slowly appeared on his face.
“I am trying to think of a reason why it wouldn’t work but I can’t find any. So yes, let’s give it a go.”
Lola grinned and hugged Noah tightly, she felt excited about the new plans, and she really hoped for the pack’s sake that they could pull it off. She sunk back into Noah’s warm embrace and enjoyed the rest of the evening together.
In the next couple of days, Noah started to implement the changes they discussed. Tristan got the assignment to start preparing a course about respect between mates. Besides that, Lola led her first meeting as the Luna of the pack. She had been nervous as fuck but determined to not show it a single bit. She told everyone that from now on they could give suggestions about things they would like to see different or problems they encountered. At first, everyone seemed shy and unsure whether it was a trick, but Fenna broke the ice by suggesting something first. She asked for more breakfast options for the she-wolves in the pack. It was a change Lola gladly implemented, not a big change but she had to start somewhere. Noah had informed all the other alphas that from now on they would train all the kids together to make their packs stronger. Talk of strength was something the alphas understood so there had been no resistance to the idea. Today was the first day of the course that would be given by Noah.
Lola met with Noah before the training to go over the planning of the entire course. They were standing outside with their heads buried in some papers when the high priestess approached.
“Alpha Grey, Luna Grey,” she said while she bowed her head.
Lola found it slightly annoying that she was called Luna Grey now she accepted the mate bond. Made her feel like some damn accessory that belonged to him, but she swallowed her pride for the greater good. If her plan worked all these stupid rules would change in the future.
Noah looked at the high priestess and asked, “What can I help you with high priestess?”
The high priestess just gazed at Lola from top to bottom before she put her hands on her stomach. Lola jumped backward, “What do you think you are doing?”
The high priestess narrowed her eyes and looked at both of them strictly, “I can feel the luna is not with pups yet. You should know better alpha Grey. Your first duty is to secure the bloodline after finding your mate. So instead of wasting your time with papers, you should be filling her with your seed.”
Lola’s jaw dropped to the ground and her newly found luna-worthy attitude went straight out of the window. She could swallow her pride, but she had a fucking limit.
“Excuse me?!” she growled.
She took a deep breath and continued, “First of all it is none of your fucking business. Secondly, fill her with your seed? You clearly never had sex yourself because just that sentence would make my pussy dryer than the Sahara Desert.”
The high priestess’s face went from shocked to fuming and she turned to Noah, “Alpha Grey, I told you to control this woman’s tongue. You have to punish her! This is no way to speak to a sacred woman.”
Noah looked at her coldly and wrapped his arms around Lola before he said, “That woman is your leading luna so she can say whatever she wants. I suggest you her the proper respect.”
Lola’s heart jumped in her chest when she heard Noah stick up for her and she couldn’t help but smirk at the high priestess who seemed to be lost for words and just stormed away.
Lola rolled her eyes, “That old hag needs to get a life. Instead of worrying whether you stick your dick into me often enough.”
Noah laughed, “I don’t think she has to worry about that department. I hear you promoted her from crazy bird lady to old hag now?”
Lola gave him a cheeky smile and responded, “Well we have to keep things interesting, don’t we?”
Noah’s thumb brushed over her lip as he gazed into her eyes and said hoarsely, “I have some suggestions.”
He grabbed her waist and pulled her body against his before pressing his lips on hers. Kissing her full of passion which made her forget everything around her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed herself against him. At that moment as she got lost in his embrace, she knew they could handle anything together.
