SABRINA
I twisted and turned roughly in my bed, my eyes sealed tight like I was scared of ever fluttering them open.
Images of blood, mutilated faces and Cory chasing me kept on creating a scene in my head.
My heart palpitated so fast with sweat beads breaking out of my forehead. Like blinding lights, gory images of my death in each life flashed before my eyes.
In one my throat was slit open by Cory. In another I was burnt to death by him. And yet another, I was stabbed multiple times in the chest.
The pain shot through me like bolts of lightening, causing me to instantly shoot up from my bed with heavy breathing.
What sort of a nightmare was that?
A pair of feet shuffled towards me, soft feathery wings grazing against my skin.
It was Asa.
“My Queen what’s wrong?” She asked, placing a hand on my temple.
“Don’t call me that Asa” I sighed pushing the duvets off my leg.
“Why?” She asked.
“Call me Sabrina ok. You knew me from the time I was Mina. So stop treating me like I’m above you or like I’m special” I told her.
She gave a soft smile. “But you are”
“I am not” I snapped back which caught her unaware.
I noticed it and a sorry look washed upon my face. “I’m sorry. I’m Sabrina please. Address me that. Not queen”
“You’ve changed a lot over this past centuries Mina” she gave me doting stares.
“I am. I guess. I am a different person now. I’m way different from my past selves. Please just be casual with me ok. Be casual with me the way you would have been casual with Mina. I may not know much about the relationship you both shared but I want you to see me as a friend”
My words must have melted her heart as tears welled up in Asa’s bright orbs.
She engulfed me in a hug and I hugged her back too.
“Did you stay in my chamber all night?” I questioned, going over to pull apart the curtains causing the bright warm rays of the sun to fill my entire chamber.
“I did. You kept on screaming in your sleep. You were having reoccurring nightmares. I had to use my powers to calm you” Asa confessed. I nodded going over to sit back on the bed.
“What were you dreaming of?” Asa went further.
I tried recollecting my dream but all I got were hazy images.
“Just about my past lives” I simply put it as that.
Asa laid one of her hands on mine and softly caressed it. “You will be fine my queen” “I mean Sabrina” she quickly corrected herself.
I laughed at her. “Where are my mates?” I sarcastically laid emphasis on the “Mates”
“They will be hear very soon. You better get ready quickly” Asa urged.
“Why?”
“When you were asleep Alton informed me that the kings would want to go out with you today”
“Oh” was what I mumbled out.
“Are you feeling nervous?” She inquired taking in my stressed features.
“Not really” I sighed running a hand through my hair. “I seriously feel like I’m very close to solving all these and putting an end to all my unfortunate demise”
I really felt that way. I couldn’t wait to be done with all these and finally get my normal life back!
But was I ready to leave the demon kings though? I felt something I dreaded whenever they were close to me not to mention that we’ve gotten partially intimate before.
I was beginning to feel something for them in my heart. It was undeniable. Seeing them got me happy and it was no new thing about the sensations that evoked within me whenever they touched me.
What is this new sudden feeling?
Could it be love?
The more I kept on getting my memories back, the more these feelings sparked within me.
Before I was so eager to leave them but now it seems like I’m having second doubts.

The next region the demon kings took me to was a ruined province in Ashrea.
It was a forgotten nymph province.
My eyes took in the run down and crumbled remains of old buildings as we explored the inside of the province.
Trees, tall shrubs and over grown grasses had taken over the environment as expected.
My mind drifted to when I met Cory yesterday and a sudden dread took over my body as I recollected how he promised to murder Sharon and Henry if I didn’t come to him.
It was a loose loose situation. If I didn’t go, I would die and if I did go, I would still die but atleast I would end up saving Sharon and Henry.
“Where is this place?”I asked with shaky lips.
“This is your hometown” Aklyn said.
“Mina stayed here?”
“No” Nelyx replied. “Elina” he completed.
Was that me in another life time?
“Yes” Aklyn replied with a smirk.
He was reading my mind again. I hated whenever he did that. I rolled my eyes at him.
“Hope you both won’t leave me the way you did yesterday?” I snapped.
They both sniggered and shook their heads.
“So tell me about Elina” I requested, interlocking hands with both of them.
Aklyn was the first to begin talking.
“Elina was just a teenager. Bold, brave, feisty, outspoken you know. She was just like you , younger. She lived here with her mother. You were reincarnated as a nymph”
My brows puckered at him. “What’s a nymph?”
“Nymphs are spirit creatures of nature; forest, winds and the likes” Nelyx replied.
Wow. I was once a spirit being. That felt enthralling! I suddenly had the urge to go back in time and experience how it felt like.
“Cory killed her. Out of all your reincarnated selves, Elina lived the shortest” Nelyx’s tone carried guilt in it.
What the actual fuck!
Is Cory that mad with me that he can’t even spare me as a child? This was pure wickedness and I still don’t know what I did to him and Eridius to warrant these endless deaths he was bent on melting out to me.
The more I got to know of Cory, the more my hatred for him grew so intense. Right now I would be so happy if I could kill him a million times for every life time he killed me.
“Why didn’t you both reach her- I mean me on time? Why can’t you both just fucking destroy Cory! Send him to an abyss or something? Why is he still roaming loose!?” I shot back at them feeling anger brewing within me.
“Sabrina you would find out yourself ok”
The moment those words left Nelyx lips, it seemed like the houses around me began building themselves back. Hazy shadows of people began walking around us.
The province became colourful and busy by the gray silhouette shadows of the people. Children laughed and played around feeling everywhere with their soft laughter.
A nostalgic feeling swept over my chest as I saw how bustling everywhere had become.
“I can see it” I whispered.
“Your kind” Aklyn smiled. I’m guessing they both could see the increasing shadows of people around us.
“What happened to this province?” I softly asked with trembling lips.
“Cory destroyed it. He came looking for you and made sure he carried out a massacre”
“How is he that powerful?” I gasped.
I was given no reply. They were hiding something from me.
I decided not to push further and allow them take me to wherever they were heading.
We came in front of a cozy little picaresque building. I turned my back to look at the kings but I couldn’t spot them again.
Like before, I was now in a different clothing. A yellow lining covered my body and on my feet, were various drawings of nature.
From the corners of my eye, I noticed that my hair carried ounces of green in them.
Without hesistance, my hand moved on its own to knock at the wooden door that stood in front of me.
I stood on the porch for what seemed like an eternity before the door slowly opened. Captivating cobalt blue eyes held my gaze. An elderly woman who had my resemblance came outside to meet me.
“Where have you been Elina? I just only asked you to get me nolberries and you decided to forever sleep there” she chided.
I put my hands on my ears and gave the woman puppy eyes. “I am sorry mother. Naldeen claimed he was better than me in the use of bow and arrow and I had to show him his place”
“Elina was feisty all right” I thought to myself as Sabrina.
I stepped inside with my mother, closing the door before laying back on the wooden bed.
“And you decided to forget bringing me my nolberries” my mother scoffed.
“I’ll get you five baskets of them tomorrow ” I promised her.
She hissed and had her arms on her waist before her face broke into a smile. “You are way too adventurous for a girl”
I giggled and was about replying when my ears twitched to sounds of commotion coming from outside.
“Mother can you hear that?” I hinted a brow.
She nodded and fear was written all over her face. The commotion grew louder and more horrifying.
“The city is under attack” my mother whispered to me with a sense of urgency.
My heart skipped a beat and I immedately grabbed a nearby stick that laid close to the bed.
I could feel the fear rising in mother’s body as she hauled me toward herself.
Just as I tried to reassure myself that we would be fine, the door of our home is violently knocked down by a demon, swinging it off its hinges.
The demon smiled at both of us, letting his razor teeth come into view.
“Who are you and what do you want!?” My mother pulled me behind her.
I swiftly took a glance at the environment outside through the window. Every one was in a frenzy of panic and fear.
I spotted similar demons wrecking havoc to the province, killing the people like animals. Our powers were no match for theirs.
Mother had always told me that demons were extremely powerful and dangerous and I prayed never to meet any but now I’m standing face to face with one.
“I came for her” he pointed at me as his midnight wings began to walk it’s way out of his back.
I was shocked and I shook my head at him. “I don’t know you! What do you want from me dark beast!” I spat at him.
“Go to hell. You shall not have my daughter” my mother said protectively as he began to walk towards us.
Before I could say a word, the demon launched for my mother, closing the distance between us and grabbing my mother by the neck.
I stood petrified as he took my mother of the ground, her feet dangling in the air.
Tears welled up in my eyes and a scream left my throat. “Let her go!”
I tried using my stick which I picked up to hit him but he held it immedately with his free hand before flinging me away like I weighed no more than a leaf.
I landed with a painful thud, clashing against some utensils in the house.
“Say goodbye to your mother” He smiled devilishly.
Horror completely took over my form and in no second did he slit my mothers throat with his clawed fingers.
“NO!” I yelled, crying hysterically. As if my mother was not a human, he flinged her to the ground with no remorse.
Blood rushed out of her opened neck, staining her dress and the ground too.
She convulsed and struggled to breathe.
“Now it’s your turn” he pointed at me with his now bloody fingers.
I quickly picked up my stick admist my tears which seemed to distort my vision. I wasn’t going down without a fight.
Rage took control of my senses and I leaped forward, tackling the demon.
“I’m going to kill you I swear!” I yelled raising my stick to hit him.
I gave him a painful hit the first time causing him to almost fall. When I wanted to hit him again, he held on to my weapon and flinged it from my hands.
“No more playing games Mina. I’ll finally have you” he shot me an icy glare.
Who the hell was Mina?!
Before I could strike back, he held me by the throat, lifting me off my feet too.
I gasped for air repeatedly, my tears streaming freely as I stared at death straight in the eyes.
“See you in another life Mina” he whispered befire plunging his long nails into my throat.
Blood gurgled from my mouth and my eyes widened.
The demon threw me to the ground violently just like he had done to my mother.
Life was draining out of me and I let out a cough, the ruby red liquid trailing out of my mouth.
“You will… p-pay for this” I managed to utter those words before I breathed my last.
* * * * * * * *
“I’ll kill you Cory!!!” I yelled jolting right up from whatever I was laid on.
I was in a different chamber and lying next to me were my mates. I panted heavily, feeling the exact anger and emotions Elina felt before she died.
My sudden outburst got them startled.
“You are finally awake” Nelyx said to me.
“He killed my people. He killed my mother and killed me too. I was just a teenager. He had no remorse”I gritted in anger.
“He will stop at nothing to get to you now but be rest assured he won’t harm you this time. We’ve found you now and we won’t let you go Mina” Aklyn wrapped his arm around me.
“These deaths have to end in this lifetime. Cory must die” I seethed determinedly.
