SABRINA
I paced to and fro in my mum’s bedroom. After the conversation we had last night, heaven knows I was too scared to go back to my own apartment.
The woman just told me I have demon blood in my freaking veins!
If for any thing, I am more scared for myself now. How did my life end up to being this?
Months ago I wouldn’t have believed any of these tales but now it seems like I have no choice but to hearken to my mother’s stories.
I bit my bottom lip in sheer frustration and walked towards the only rectangular window in my mum’s bedroom.
My face scrunched up in disbelief realizing my mum just had one source of ventilation in her room.
I wonder how she coped.
Pulling the curtains apart, I stared into the horizontal pink skies that had being splashed with orange and wisteria lightening.
The sun was setting and it carried shades of pinky hues with it.
A whole day is about ending and I don’t have any idea of what to do to get back Sharon and Henry.
“Why me!” I yelled out, a wave of emotions surging within me.
I just want a normal life. Why are all these befalling me?
I crumbled into tears and screamed out again.
“Demon fucking kings! Where are you both!?” I angrily yelled, looking up at the ceiling.
“C’mon show yourself!” I demanded in a tone laced with anger.
I kept my gaze stationed on the ceiling as if some divine light would appear and the demon kings will jump out of it.
The room was totally silent that the only sound I could make out was the erratic beating of my own heart.
A minute passed.
Two minutes.
Three minutes.
Five minutes had flown by and still nothing happened.
I sobbed quietly and fell back on the bed.
The old bed squeaked at my sudden weight on it.
I turned over and let the tears stain the bedsheets, sobbing like a baby.
Nothing is going right.
I can’t believe I actually screamed for those demon kings thinking they would show up.
This is hopeless.
“I believe you called us” came the distinct masculine tone.
I raised up my head in a second only to be immersed into those farmaliar ocean blue and honey coloured orbs.
The demon kings.
I stood up in a flash, happiness and joy radiating off me.
I never thought I would be so happy to see these two ever again.
“Has our queen been crying?”the other teasingly asked, running his hands through his silver hair whilst flashing me a lustfull smile.
They looked more handsome than ever. As I gazed at them, I almost forgot to speak and breathe too.
“We know why you sent for us Mina” he added.
I blinked severally and was jolted from my daydreaming.
“You do? What are your names again ummm” I rummaged through my mind trying to remember their bizarre names.
“I am Nelyx queen don’t forget my name” he replied, taking a step towards me which made me shudder and subconsciously moved backwards.
“I am Aklyn doll” the one with scarlet red hair and honey eyes introduced with a wink.
I watched their lustfull gaze trail around my body.
“Stop staring at me!” I snapped at both of them.
“Oh really?” Nelyx asked with hiked brows.
“Minutes ago you couldn’t keep your eyes off us” Aklyn reminded me.
I groaned within myself and massaged my temples.
“Please two people very close to me have been kidnapped by God knows what and…”
“We are aware” Nelyx cut me short.
“Did you send them?”I quizzically asked.
“Hell no. Another ancient demon sent them. And he will stop at nothing until he gets you” Aklyn informed me with so much urgency in his tone.
I gulped and felt my fears rising again with each breathe I took.
“Why does he want to get me?” I fearfully asked.
“So he can kill you” Nelyx told me, staring at me eyeball to eyeball.
“What!” I let out a shriek.
“His creatures kidnapped your friend thinking it was you. He hasn’t realised it yet but when he realises it, he will definitely kill her” Nelyx explained to me.
This was too much to take in.
What the hell was going on in my life!?
My heart beat trippled, racing for the summit and my knees almost buckled to the floor.
“How–how do you guys know about it?” I shivered.
“He sent us a message and claimed he had kidnapped the demon queen. But we knew there was no way he could have kidnapped you. If he did harm you we would have felt it because you are our mate and our souls are interconnected. We can sense when one of us is in danger ” Aklyn replied to me.
Oh Lord!
I placed a hand on my forehead, rubbing it continuously whilst trying to calm the waves that had become of my nerves.
Suddenly Nelyx brought out a black shiny little Crystal and raises it upwards.
“We have to live here Mina” Aklyn said to me, taking my hands in his so firmly.
In the speed of light, everything around me explodes into a black oblivion. I squeezed on to Akyln’s hands for safety whilst Nelyx holds on to the crystal.
We are in what seems like a black space with fairly luminous rays of lights.
“Where are we?” I asked in fear. The silence of this strange environment has me shuddering.
“This is the loophole. It is connecting your world to ours” Nelyx replied soothingly as he still had the Crystal raised upwards.
“Are we going to…” my eyes widened.
“Yes we are heading for the demon realm” Akyln cryptically replied.
What?!
“No no. I don’t want to go there!” I screamed out, an unknown agitation seizing me.
“Be calm. If I let go of you, you would get lost or die in this hole”Aklyn warned me which made me still as a statue.
How did my life turn to this?
“What about my mother?” I whimpered
“Don’t worry about her. She won’t be frightened when she doesn’t meet you home” Nelyx reassured me.
I breathed a little sigh of relief.
As soon as Nelyx utters that statement, a white blinding light comes into view and in an instant we are sucked into it.
We are launched into the light, softly landing on a whole landscape of silky soft grass like plants.
I gazeed up slowly at the scarlet red clouds in awe.
“Welcome to Ashrea” Nelyx announced.
