His eyes skimmed around before they fell on Cristelle.
“Mom!” The boy exclaimed excitedly.
Cristelle scooped her babies in her arms, “I miss you guys so much.” Saying that, she left kisses on her children’s cheeks.
The young teacher smiled, “The babies have been such good kids, especially Candace. She’s the sweetest girl I’ve ever seen.”
Candace smiled at the young lady. She clearly liked her.
Cristelle finally let out a breath, “Thank you, Miss. What should I call you?”
“Just call me Tiffany. Mrs. Weston has told me everything about your children. I know how to take care of them. You don’t need to worry.”
Tiffany had a pretty face, and she looked sweet. But, when she talked, she couldn’t help sneaking glances at Linford, blushing.
Cristelle had already gotten used to that. This man tended to make every woman blush whenever he went.
Cristelle couldn’t care less.
“Mommy, I’m hungry. Can we go back?” Cody didn’t like the way their teacher sneaked glances at his father. The teacher had been taking care of them. He felt grateful at the beginning. But it seemed like she did that only to kiss Linford’s ass.
Cody suddenly dislikes her as much as before. Mrs. Weston was better.
Cristelle seemed a bit tired of holding the two babies. Linford thus took Candace in his arms. Candace hooked her soft arms around Linford’s neck, smiling adorably.
Cristelle smiled at Tiffany, “Thank you for everything, Tiffany. We need to go now.”
“I was only doing my job. You guys should go. I’ll keep you informed about the babies when they’re in the school,” Tiffany smiled, casting one last glance at Linford.
Her face didn’t change until the family of four faded from her sight.
That woman looked ordinary. She was pretty good at seducing men, though. How did she manage to climb into Mr. Bradley’s bed and have his babies? What a slut.
Most people held the same thought.
Soon, the news about Linford Bradley secretly having two babies popped out on the front pages of popular news websites.
Cristelle refused to let go of Cody in the car. She looked at her daughter. Candace seemed thrilled. It somehow made her emotional.
She stifled her tears as she asked her daughter, “Candace, how was the school? Do you like it?”
Candace nodded happily. The school was so much fun.
Cody laughed, “Mommy, you have no idea how popular Candace was in the school. She’s so good at puzzles that everyone wants to play with her. The boys surrounded her as if she was the school’s princess.”
Candace rested her head against Cristelle’s side shyly.
“Really? You’re awesome, sweetie,” Cristelle left a kiss on her cheek.
Linford frowned, “You’re her older brother. It would help if you took care of her. Don’t let those boys get near her.”
“Humph,” Cody looked impatient, “You don’t need to say that. I cast those boys away when they attempted to get close to her.”
Candace left a kiss on Cody’s cheek.
“You don’t need to thank me,” Cody had a smug look on his face, “I’m your older brother.”
He was also happy that his sister was getting better.
“By the way, Mom, Mrs. Weston, and Tiffany have been calling me ‘Bradley’ the whole day. I thought my last name was Friesley,” Cody looked a bit upset when he mentioned that.
Linford knew the boy had another plan when he informed his mother. He thus waited quietly to see what Cristelle was gonna say.
“You followed my last name because your dad hadn’t shown up before. Now that your dad is here, of course, you need to follow his surname,” Cristelle couldn’t tell him the real reason. She could only patiently explain the whole thing to him.
But Linford looked so happy with her explanation. He even smiled a bit.
Cody huffed, “But I don’t want to follow his name. I only want to be a Friesley. Mom, can you talk to the doc so I can bear a Friesley surname?”
“Seriously?” Linford’s face fell.
Cody held his little chin up, “What? You wanna beat me?”
Cristelle held her boy tightly in her arms. Candace shook her head, begging them silently to stop.
Linford had a good mood today. He held the girl in his arms, “I won’t be mad at you because Candace wouldn’t like seeing me go mad.”
They had to use his surname anyway. They had no choice at all as he was their biological father.
Cristelle knew the argument was a dead end, patting Cody’s head to calm him.
When they finally got home, however, Cristelle saw some people the least she wished to bump in.
Drew and Fritzi were waiting for them, and it was okay for her. But why did her uncle and his family have to show up too?
Linford frowned immediately. He could feel Candace flinching in his arms when she saw those people.
“Cristelle, you are finally back. I’ve brought Ingrid and Rose to apologize to you,” Cyrus looked older compared with before. Ingrid and Rose also looked like shit after spending days in jail.
Cristelle withdrew her charges against them, and they finally managed to be freed unharmed.
“Cristelle, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have been that stupid and listened to those people. I almost made you and Cody lose your life. It was all my fault. Please forgive me,” Ingrid said as she dropped to her knees.
Cristelle flinched, feeling completely disgusted.
Ingrid was hugging Cristelle’s legs, “Cristelle, please forgive me. I won’t do anything like that anymore, I swear.”
She was crying like a pig. Cristelle felt even more disgusted.
Rose followed what her mother did, and she knelt between the couple.
“Cristelle, just forgive us, okay? We didn’t mean to do that,” She knelt before Linford, looking up at him on purpose, “Please, forgive us.”
Linford frowned in disgust and walked away, standing behind Cristelle in a manner to protect her.
It broke Rose’s heart to see his reaction. She suddenly got to know that Cristelle had been a phoenix since she was born. She was gonna fly high one day.
