LILA’S P. O. V.
I know something is up when she doesn’t hesitate to charge at me. Her wolf is like half of mine. She should not have this much gusto to fight me. I dodge her first swipe at me. It doesn’t take me much to dodge her. I trained with Uncle Jay and he is way faster. I bat her to the side and hope to get her to relent or something. I don’t really want to kill her, she doesn’t really deserve that.
But she doesn’t take it, she charges again. She snarls and swipes at me. I managed to dodge most of it. But I get sidetracked by the sound of my mom’s voice, it is really dull. But I hear it. I look towards the noise and see Ash on the phone. It must be with my mom. Alyssa takes this as her chance to attack. I dodge most of the attack but she gets a swipe on my front leg. Not really too bad, but it starts to burn. Like really burn. I feel like my front leg is on fire.
I pull back and look, I can’t see what is causing it, but Alyssa snickers and goes for another attack. Now I know the bitch did something. Anger flares in me. Out of the corner of my eye I see Ash and Callum holding Mateo back. He knows something happened too. Time to take the gloves off. I lunged at her, taking offense. She dodges at first but then I charge her again. Her wolf being smaller, gives her a little bit of an advantage in the speed department, but that doesn’t mean that she is going to win. She side steps, but I do a stand turn that I learned from my daddy and I land on her back. I clamp my jaw on the back of her neck. She can’t get me off, but I can’t kill her either. She falls to her side, taking me with her. She’s hoping that she can get me off my feet and attack my neck. I let go of her skruff to get another grip that will actually do damage. I sink my teeth into her jugular. Her move was in my favor, not hers. I hear her whimper, but she doesn’t stop clawing me. Her claws rip into my chest, sides and stomach. I feel the burn each time she swipes at me. Not all the scratches are deep but they all burn just the same. It doesn’t get any better either. It just gets worse.
I clamp down harder. Her strikes become slower, until eventually she is down. Her blood is flowing into my mouth. I almost feel like I am choking on the stuff. It flows into my mouth like a thick disgusting syrup. Goddess how does Uncle Jay drink this stuff? She has gone stiff before I relent and let her go. I had to make sure that she didn’t attack again. I can’t stand though. I hurt too much. I just lay there. Rolling onto my side. It burns so much. I feel like my skin is on fire and I just want to scream. I can’t, I only whimper in pain.
I can’t focus on anything. Mateo is screaming for a healer. He’s the only one around that I have any clarity on. I can feel him next to me, petting my fur. I don’t remember what happened next, I’m pretty sure I passed out.
