JASMINE’S P. O. V.
Still no news. I called every pack that I could think of. Except Moonridge. The search parties are sent out as well, but that just makes it a waiting game. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I looked up the information on the Moonridge pack. The new Alpha took over three years ago. I have never spoken to the man. He is rather young, twenty one. He didn’t even have a coronation.
I dial up his number, after two rings someone answers. “Moonridge pack. Beta Ash speaking.”
“Hello, my name is Jasmine Smith, Luna of Black Forest Pack. I was wondering if I could have a word with your Alpha.”
He is quiet for a moment. “I’m sorry, Alpha Mateo is out of the office at the moment. I can have him call you back.”
I grit my teeth. “It is a bit of an emergency. Can you link him and have him come back early or transfer the call to him?”
“Give me a few minutes and let me see what I can do.” My side of the line goes silent. It takes five minutes before a different voice comes on the line.
“I apologize, Luna Jasmine. I was out with my son. I usually don’t like to be interrupted when I am with him. I understand it is an emergency.” At least he sounds pleasant, not at all what I was expecting, or the fact that he has a son. I don’t have any information on a Luna of the pack.
“Thank you for taking my call. My daughter went missing last night. We are trying any means necessary to find her. Have you had any strange wolves show up in your pack?”
He is quiet for a moment. “I have no reports of strange wolves. We are pretty strict on our borders. Can you email me over a picture and I will send it out to my guard and have them keep a lookout?”
“Thank you Alpha Mateo, that would be a great help. Any news would be great at this point.” I really am grateful. After everything that I heard, I was not expecting this type of response.
“I am here to help, if I have any information on your daughter then I will be glad to relay that information. I know if it was my son then I would want to know where he is. I am sure you are very worried.”
“Yes we are. Would it be alright if I sent up a search party to see if we can find her in the area of your pack?”
“I have to say that it is fine as long as they don’t try to enter the compound. Unfortunately with our reputation we have too many problems with outside wolves causing problems in our packlands. We had to make it a rule that they are not allowed to enter the compound. I hope you understand.” Well, it is better than I expected, I pretty much thought it would be a flat out no.
“Of course. I hope that we can have you visit sometime. You could bring your son, I am sure that we have one around here that is about his age.” I try to joke, not that I am really in a joking mood, but I want this to be an ally if need be.
“Maybe another time. I understand you are probably under a great deal of stress at the moment. I appreciate the invitation. I know I am not one that usually gets those.”
“I hope we can change that in the future, Alpha Mateo. I will send over my daughter’s picture now and I will alert you when my wolves enter your land.”
“Well, thank you for contacting me. I will be on the lookout for that email. Have a good day Luna Jasmine.”
“You as well Alpha Mateo.” I click to end the conversation. I am not sure why everyone is so against the man. He seemed pleasant enough on the phone. Helpful even. I just hope he is honest. I would hate to think he is the one that took Lila, but we are running out of places to look.
