Book:Lying In the Arms of Death Published:2024-5-1

Natasha found books on medicine in Azrael’s library, and there were some books Aris helped her get from the Realm of Light Medicine manor, all this while. She imagined the Realm of Light as a place with nothing but clouds and blinding Light. It turns out there are cities and villages. The capital city is Devnagari, in other simple term, the City of the Gods. The Medicine Manor is the royal infirmary, and the place has things that no human can imagine. There is not just science but technology here.
Aris was a good friend of one of the Physicians; he helped her to get some things. Natasha thought the Medicine King must be the master of that place, but The Medicine King is just a title of the God of Medicine and Healing. He is a master of medicine living in the Maya Forest, another realm like the Realm of Light.
“He is one of the ancient gods, elusive, and doesn’t like to mingle but is good fun. He can heal anything, any wound, and cure any disease, and could bring a person from the brink of death,” Aris told her when they stopped at the Medicine manor’s lunch center, white wooden chairs surrounding the circular table. It gave her the feeling of being hospital cafeteria without the clinical smell. Here the herbal fragrance soothes you instantly.
“You have met him?” Natasha asked.
“Sure, I had to. My best friend married him,” Aris said, munching the red berries.
She didn’t have much time to ask more, but she was curious.
“Ah! Don’t worry when it comes to the Som groove. I will show you the whole Maya Forest; it is better than here,” She whispered the last part.
“How was your day with Aris?” Azrael puts a strand of hair behind her ear and looks above her book.
“It was…interesting, I get to see a lot of things,”
“Good, good,” He nodded and leaned against the desk, crossing his arms on his chest. He looked down at her book and then at her, smiling, but it didn’t reach his eye, and turn to leave.
“Azrael,” She called.
“Yes,” He turns but not looking at her.
“Is there something you want to tell me?”
“No, nothing; you should carry on,”
She put away her books and parchment. She grabs his hand, and he turns back.
“You should tell me if something bothers you. That’s what I am here for,”
“How was the city? Did you meet someone?” He caved in.
“The city was magnificent, and I met some of the people working at the Medicine Manor,” She said, unsure where this was going.
He must have known of you by now of my curse being broken. He didn’t reach out,”
Ishah, he is talking of Emperor Ishah. His brother.
“You can reach out to him,” She said, standing up and resting her hand on his forearms.
“What if he is furious at me as Sahir?”
“What if he is waiting for you too?”
Azrael hoped he could feel the hope in her eyes. She has been strong and trying to help him. Sharing his past with her was easy as breathing; she didn’t judge. He didn’t even flinch when he told her everything. She still believes that everything will turn out for the better after knowing everything.
“I hope so,” He kissed her, their lips parted, and Natasha took a shuddering breath. He kissed her again, titling her head for access, kissing her deeper.
“Thank you,” He said softly; his lips brushed down to her chin, and she suppressed a shiver. Looking back at the thick books, she was trying to prepare for her meeting with Medicine King in two days. She should… she swallowed as he softly kissed down her neck and turned her around, so she was now caged to the desk.
“I have…I should…” her breath hitched as the ties of the back of her dress came out.
“You were saying… “Azrael breathed, looking at her with fiery blue eyes, and his fingers ran to her bare back. She couldn’t resist it yesterday and could fight before that. Aris realized there were other things she got to do and finally went to the Realm of Light.
She defiantly can’t resist it now.
He looks deep into her eyes.
“Come here,” She breathed, and their lips crashed together.
