“Push!!!!” Kelvin screams for the umpteenth time, he and George standing at the gate of hell. “Push!!!”
“Stop screaming like a dunce.” George tells him, and he spits on his forehead. George wipes the spit off and bites Kelvin on his forehead without notifying him. Kelvin slightly yells at him but he soon starts to chuckle again.
“Lucifer is busy, I don’t think he would reply. Wasting thirty minutes here will end both of us in hell.” Kelvin says, and knocks on the gate again. “Don’t you feel hot?”
“You know my identity. Stop acting as though you don’t.” George retorts and Kelvin keeps quiet. Standing still like a frozen goat, Kelvin forms into his demon self and shrieks. The gate flings open, and Kelvin enters without saying a word to George. George turns on his wizard self and follows him behind, he soon comes out again of the gate before it shuts itself, since the fire right from the gate till the deadend of the hell pack scorches him.
If only he’d known, he wouldn’t have requested for a wizard power. Had it been he has the demon power, he would have entered the gate of hell easily to find Kellie. After few minutes of ruminating, the gate flings open again and Kelvin comes out with three burnt bodies wincing in pain.
“Guy…” He tells George, and shifts back to his human form. “… you should get the demonic power, I couldn’t see anyone with the logo Kellie Leo but these are the similarities.”
George sniffles, and sniffs the air stuck around them, the air filled with burnt substances.
“This doesn’t even look like Kellie at all.” George sobs, slapping each burnt wolf with his palms.
“By the way, how did you get these wolves?” George asks and Kelvin sighs. Kelvin, in his human form, carries the three badly injured wolves and dumps them at a corridor near the gate.
“No answer?” George scoffs.
“I’m coming.” Kelvin replies. “You can see I’m up for a task.” After dumping them back into the furnace, he shuts the gate tight and walks up to George.
“You know the Wasteland?” Kelvin asks, pulling two bricks to himself. He sits on one while George sits on the other, and nods.
“Yeah, i do.” He replies, after the grave silence between him and kelvin.
“This is the continuation.” Kelvin clips.
He gesticulates with his hands, and his voice comes down to whispers, “Those wolves that are being killed daily are those in the furnace. They do get here after twenty four hours of staying and decomposing in the Wasteland.
“Can I mind link anyone right here?” George asks.
“Sure, you can.” Kelvin says, and spits on his forehead. George purrs, and rolls his eyes at him.
“Guy, I don’t like it. Please, don’t repeat it.” He says, and mind links Charles.
“Hi Charles. Do you copy?” He repeats, thrice then Charles replies.
“Yes, I do.” He replies. “How are you?”
“I’m good. Any update from the moon goddess about Kellie?”
“No.” Charles replies, blankly. “Nope, not yet.”
“Where are you right now?” George asks.
“In my room. At our pack house of course. Why do you ask?”
“Just asking.” George replies. “Can you ask your gamma to ask the moon goddess about any updates.”
“I don’t think that’s necessary, George.”
“It is!!!” George yells at Charles in his mind link. Charles sighs, and replies, “Where are you right now?”
“Well…” George thinks of a pure lie. “I’m in my room with my room mate. Luckily, I have only one.”
“I bet you’re enjoying yourself. You’re in heaven right there.” Charles chuckles. George grins, and thinks of the contrast, he said he’s in heaven but no, he’s right here at the gate of hell.
“Don’t misuse your power. Bye.” Charles says.
“Are you busy?” George holds him on. “Can you mind link me immediately you beseech the moon goddess about Kellie?”
“Yes, i will. You’re damn persuasive.” Charles chuckles, and cuts the mind link. Kelvin is nowhere to be found.
“Kelvin!!” George yells. “Kelvin!! Where are you?!”
A hand sticks out beneath the gate, and George hears muffled breathing. He moves near the gate and with his wizard power, he tilts his head and opens the gate slightly.
“It’s me, Kellie!” The wolf cries out. “Drag me out!!”
George becomes confused but starts to drag her out before he could start thinking of anything. Midway dragging her out, Kelvin speeds towards them in a whirlwind and drags George out as it dumps the wolf back inside the furnace. The agonizing oozing of black releases from the wolf spreads in the air for a while and the wolf goes deep down into hell fire.
“Kelvin!” George calls him, and coughs out his lungs. “That’s Kellie. Why’d you do that?”
“No.” Kelvin clips, having shifted back to his wolf form. “It isn’t Kellie, one of them heard while I was discussing with one of the demons at the backyard, and pretends to be one.”
George scoffs. “Shit.”
“That’s why I came here on time. It’d be another trouble to let her out.”
“How? You said they are killed wolves from the Wasteland. Didn’t you?” George asks, bemusedly.
“I did. But that wolf is a red wolf that didn’t kill anyone throughout a week.”
“Oh.” George exclaims. “How do we get Kellie now?”
“Was she killed by any red wolf or wizard at the Wasteland?”
“No.”
“How so? Were you there with her?”
“Yes. We both got in at almost same times and we both got out at same times. And no, she wasn’t killed. We all headed to the pack house when we escaped from the Wasteland.” George explains.
“Let’s return then.” Kelvin says. “To our room. I have some Alphas I can talk to, about this.”
“Okay.” George nods. “Let’s get going.” He stands up from the brick he’s sitting on, and Kelvin does so, too. Kelvin spits on George’s forehead, and shouts at him, “you should say ‘thank you’, not ‘okay.’ Alright?!”
George doesn’t respond; instead, he transforms into his wizard form while Kelvin automatically becomes a demon with wings this time around.
****
“Stop right there!” An Alpha of a pack orders them. “Who are you?”
George and Kelvin are still moving in the wilderness, the pathway from school to hell. George returns to his human form, and Kelvin seems vanishing in air but George can see him standing still beside him.
“I’m… uh…” George stammers. “… he’s… I’m… he took me there.”
“Who!” The Alpha yells. “Who took you where!?”
“He.” He points at Kelvin but the Alpha slaps him hard on his chin.
“I’ll beat you to death today.” The Alpha says, and George grins, motioning to Kelvin to stop him. The Alpha stretches his hands forward and they become thick claws then he sets them towards George.
“Learn not to invade a pack house any more.” He says, and as he tries to hit George with those claws, Kelvin grabs him from behind and he lands on the ground with a loud thud, some distance away.
“Quick, let’s go.” Kelvin returns to his demon form and George transforms into his wizard state so they can be back at school on time. Kelvin brushes past few bricks on the road, and climbs a fence. George follows suit.
“Let’s get in.” Kelvin tells him, and George follows him behind.
Suddenly, Kelvin shouts at George, “Spit on his forehead” when a lecturer passes by and heads to the office to report George. George spits on his forehead and Kelvin gives him lashes on his back. This way, he forgets every thing he knows about the incident, and he resumes his daily work. Poof, Kelvin enters into the room without opening the door while George jerks the door open with a leg kick and in his human form. The door creaks open, he gets in and shuts the door behind him.
“What about those Alphas you talked about?” George asks Kelvin as he slumps onto his bed. Kelvin’s bed. George’s bed is still right there in his luggages.
“By 3pm tomorrow.” Kelvin replies, and George sighs, impatiently waiting for the clock to tick.
Kellie, a must for George.
There’s a knock on their door. It’s that same girl that lured George. Clarissa.
“Hey girl, whatcha want again?” George asks, furrowing his forehead.
“It’s the master. The hostel master. He wants to see you.” She says and clicks her tongue.
“Okay, I’ll be right there with you.” George says and goes to his bed again. “Where exactly is the place?”
“Come, quick. It’s just 6pm. Not too late. I’ll guide you there. Sure.” She repeats over and over again.
“Hey, man.” He whispers to Kelvin. “is it possible you show yourself as a human?”
“That’s if it’s necessary.” Kelvin replies.
“At least, just to save me from this mess.”
“What mess?”
“This…. This slut beckoning to me to come over.” He says, not minding the fact that Clarissa is right at the doorpost.
“Ew! What did you just say?” Clarissa barks at him from outside.
“Kelvin, can you help?” George asks again, ignoring Clarissa. “Just today, please.”
“Okay.” Kelvin says, and changes to a completely different person. Different stature, beards, look, height and even accent.
“Call me Cole.” Kelvin says. “I borrowed a human body from the wolves that have been killed. I am using their human bodies right now.”
“Hey, Slut.” George calls Clarissa. “You’ll take both of us to the hostel master.”
“Ew! When did this man join you? You have been asked to live alone.” She repeats all over again.
“Shut up, butt head.” Cole shushes her, and she cooperates when Cole shouts at her in his demon form.
She gets to the office’s doorstep, and knocks on the door. No one responds until after three violent attempts. Then, Alpha Festus opens the door and allows the three of them in.
“What… What!” He exclaims, seeing George. “George?”
“Alpha Festus?” George tries to remember him but he seems not to.
“Sit, sit.” He pulls a chair for him and Cole. Cole sits with violence and rolls his eyes at Alpha Festus.
“Hey, what the hell do you want?” He fumes at Cole.
“We have something to tell you, Alpha.” Cole says. “Will you listen?”
Festus adjusts his sitting position as usual, and replies, “I’m all ears.”
