Red Wolves Are Not In League With White Wolves

Book:That Lost Wolf Published:2024-5-1

“Alpha Martin, there is a sign in the clouds. Indicating the fury of the moon goddess. All warriors are retreating into the city’s pack.” The wolf responsible for summoning the moon goddess called a Zeta says, and stops all of them sitting in the sitting room, from bickering.
“Can I have a look?” Martin says, and rises to his feet. He points at Festus and the elf, “you can keep on arguing till the moon goddess needs you.” The elf calms herself down but unintentionally keeps grunting and slightly howling.
Alpha Martin storms out of the sitting room, and fixes his gazes at the sky. “The moon goddess is really annoyed.”
“Yes, my Lord. All warriors are leaving through the backyard.” He repeats.
“But why didn’t you tell me this earlier? Why would you take such a risky decision without my consent?”
“Sorry, Alpha.” He says, and thunder rumbles. Kimberly comes out of the room, and stays behind them.
“Can sorry save us now?” Alpha Martin barks at him. “Go in there and order them back to the pack.”
“They haven’t moved at all, Sir.” The Zeta says, and bows his head a bit. Alpha Martin knocks on his head multiple times till the Zeta has to free himself from the pain. The Zeta lifts his head up and runs away from Alpha Martin. Martin, though old, runs after him with clenched fists, cussing under his breath. The Zeta hides behind a curtain, thinking the Alpha can’t and hasn’t seen him but no, Alpha Martin approaches suddenly and dashes blows at the curtain but the zeta dodges it, and flees, making the clenched fists of Martin hit the wall.
“Ouch!” He remarks, rubbing his palms with his lips as he heads back to the room. They all come out of the room and realize the darkness of the pack house, even darker than the time Alpha Martin and the Zeta was pursuing themselves.
“What have we done?” Kimberly says and as Kellie gets out last (Alfred still in though), the thunder rumbles the more and more. Lightning flashes across the skies and illuminates the pack house temporarily. Kellie goes in back since she couldn’t take the flash bright light the lightning gives, and then the skies become a bit calm. Elf Jane senses something as she calls Kellie out again.
“Kellie, please come over here.” She calls her, and as Kellie comes out again, the darkness worsens, and the thunder gives much more rumbling noise that it gave when she was indoors.
Elf Jane does that four good times, and then she calls Charles and Alpha Martin inside with Kellie while George and Festus sit on the bare floor and Kimberly mopes around.
“I noticed something about Kellie. I deemed it right to let you notice as well.” Elf Jane says. Charles sighs, and waves at her.
“May I know you?”
“She’s an elf, shut the hell up.” Alpha Martin commands.
“Kellie has taken up the red wolf spirit to herself.”
Kellie slumps to the ground, and Charles’ heart starts to pound and throb as he drags Kellie back to the seat.
“What!” Alpha Martin exclaims.
“What does that mean? Does she understand who red wolves are?” Alpha Martins asks. Elf Jane sighs, and rubs Kellie’s chin.
“Did you even ask her how she escaped?” Elf Jane says and Charles starts to feel guilty in his mind.
“I wanted to ask.” He says, feeling bitter against himself in his mind. “All I know is she was dumped to the wasteland and George went there to save her through the white wolf power we took away from Alfred.”
“You’re not serious.” Elf Jane says. “This is about her life, she was born with the logo of runaway. She might not run away but surely, in a way or the other, she won’t be found. Not by anyone.”
“Kimberly needs to hear this as well.” Charles stands to his feet, and walks towards the door.
“No, she’s carrying a pup. She would feel down and weak if you tell her this. She might possibly lose her wolf control and become a useless Omega.” Alpha Martin says, on his seat while cuddling Kellie in his arms. Elf Jane sighs. Alpha Martin stands to his feet, and splutters, seeing that Charles doesn’t turn back or maybe he doesn’t want to agree.
“Okay.” Charles says, and turns back to join them on the sofa. “So Kellie is now a member of the Wasteland?”
“Yeah.” Elf Jane says and Kellie starts to sob. “Before she inflicts us all, she has to be banned from this pack. From all packs.”
“Shut the fuck up!!! Shut up!” Charles barks at her, his lips quavering and his hands shivering as he glares at Kellie then at the Elf.
“Moon goddess is here to take her.” Elf Jane concludes.
“Take….. Me… Where?” Kellie clips and sobs. “Please….. help…. me.”
“Kellie, be cool, okay?” Martin tells her, and she rests her head on his chest, shivering and sobbing.
“How did you know this?” Charles asks.
“Through my power as an elf.” She says, and Kimberly barges in with George.
Kimberly pants, and pants while George muffles under his breath.
“Anything you have to say?” Charles fumes.
“Did anything happen?” Kellie sobs.
“Kellie.” George calls, shutting the door behind him. “Confess to me.”
“Confess what, George?” Kellie lifts her head up and as soon as Kimberly sees the tears in her eyes, she becomes moved with compassion as she proceeds to her seat and hugs her dearly.
“Kellie, what is wrong?!!!” She yells in agony. “Alpha Martin, Charles, then who are you?” She points at the elf.
“Elf Jane.” She clips. “Don’t bother yourself, your daughter has been marked as a red wolf.”
“What does that imply?” Kimberly struggles to say. “Please, leave my daughter alone!”
“I’m not holding onto her. Did you even ask her how she escaped?”
“I was… He was… We were.” She becomes short of words. “We were about…. about asking her when that folk and Alpha Martin barged in.”
“Oops sorry. I, Festus and his Betas, three vampires though they later ran away, and my two elves partner saved Kellie.” She explains.
“Thank you.” Kimberly appreciates.
“Don’t say thank you.” She retorts, almost immediately. “Or please.”
Alpha Martin sighs with a low repeated pitch and Charles exhales.
“Release her to the moon goddess!” Elf Jane says. “I’m taking my leave.”
“No, please, don’t.” Kimberly drags her back.
“Don’t say please, remember?”
“Oh, yeah. Remember.” She clips. “Why does the moon goddess want her after she has given her to me?” She sobs.
Alpha Martin cuts in, as the elf Jane cusses under her breath, “you keep asking same questions since you came in. Your daughter has been marked as a red wolf and her mate is a white wolf. They simply can’t get mated.”
“And since she has not even shifted, she has to be with the moon goddess, unmated for life.” Charles adds, trying to get a point. “But if moon goddess sees another mate that fits her, she would release her to the earth again. Through any means.”
“Water like the waterfalls.” Elf Jane lists number one.
“Fire like the one that burns a whole forest.” Martin adds.
“Barking wildly through mere dogs detects her presence.” Kimberly adds, her voice breaking.
“Then her mate…” George finally says. “… would always be safe since she would hit any teacher or lecturer that tries nonsense.”
“You all are aware through my power!!” That bright and loud melodious tone storms the room, and the lightning and thunder rumbling repeatedly which is capable of blindfolding the whole pack, dissolves into the moon goddess. They all bow but the Elf dissolves in thin air and could no longer be found.
“I decided to come here myself.” The moon goddess says as her voice echoes, sounding and resounding. “To clarify issues to you.”
“George has been destined to be mated to a lost wolf.” She speaks. “But how sure are you Kellie is that mate?”
On hearing that, everyone of them become afraid; George shudders, and Festus creeps backwards.
“She has taken the red wolf badge on her unknowingly, and that should let George find another mate.” She continues speaking. “Unless she sheds off the red wolf badge and George sheds off the white wolf badge.”
“Oh, I’m ready.” George responds and Charles hits him with a knock.
“You don’t talk when the moon goddess is right with us.” He mutters.
“But what did you just do?”
“Listen to her, you Wastoid.”
“How can I shed my power off? Kellie asks, and sniffles. George nods and moon goddess smiles.
“Kellie has to go all the way to another world, to plead with the demons in the greatest and hottest pack.”
“Oh my goodness.” George exhales.
“Shall i take her with me?” Moon Goddess asks, and shrugs. “Or you’ll get the direction from her? I have settled it in the mind link.”
“Mind link?” Martin queries, Charles supports.
“I have activated her mind link. I have given Festus the wolf power.”
“Great.” George says, looking at the excited Festus. “Can’t I follow Kellie as you take her along?”
“Not possible.” She replies.
“Can you take off my power then?”
“Possible but you can’t follow Kellie.”
“Hey fool, don’t take off your power.” Kimberly taps him and whispers into his ears.
Just like a whirlwind, moon goddess disappears out of the room, together with Kellie.
“You had better appreciate the clarification.” Festus sniggers.
“Next line in action?” Martin shrugs, directing his question to Charles and depressed Kimberly. They also shrug in return, and the illumination in the pack gets restored. Alpha Martin moves to his chamber while George wobbles into Kellie’s room. Kimberly and Charles scoot over to the joint room and Festus jerks Alfred’s door open.
George notices an object crawling around Kellie’s pillow on her bed; he moves near and as he touches the object, …
