The Kingdom’s Rite: Do-or-die Principles

Book:That Lost Wolf Published:2024-5-1

“I made you all damn worried, I’m sorry!” Kellie says but her voice sounds more like threats though she tries to keep it cool.
“Oh, Kellie! We have all been stressed. You didn’t even ask about how I got here?” George says, touching her cheeks.
“How, George?” She pouts her lips. “I’m so happy, my mate is here!!”
“I’m damn happy too!!!” He hugs her dearly, and they start to kiss themselves.
“Enough of this. Not permitted in this kingdom.” A wizard holding a stick says, standing in front of them. “We promote violence here, not love.”
“Sure, sir.” Greg hiccups, bowing his head.
“Now, you two, follow me!!” He barks at them and they stand up from the settee at once. They follow him behind as he marches towards an area in the wasteland.
“This is the Wasteland created by Late Frederick in the 1600’s.” He explains. “Here is the dungeon where we pack dead wolves and flies.”
He opens the door to the dungeon, and George covers his nostrils with his palms while Kellie puts on a nose mask.
“I have explained it all to Kellie, your mate. And I hope you know you can’t leave here anymore.”
“Yes, we know.” They chorus.
“Do not shift in this kingdom, you’ll be wasted. Do not get pregnant, you’ll be fed on. Don’t miss a killing day.”
Hearing the last statement, George sharply exhales.
“What?” The wizard asks.
“Killing day, how?” He asks, and clears his throat. Kellie stares vaguely at him.
“You must kill at least a wolf in a day. Or else, you won’t survive here. She has killed a wolf already.” He clarifies. Kellie sniffles, and walks away.
“Is she able to shift now?” George whispers to the Wizard after Kellie walks away.
“Don’t mention that word anymore.” The Wizard retorts.
“What of mind linking?” George asks again.
The Wizard sighs, and inhales. “You must be the inquisitive type.” He says, and George nods.
“You’ll be wasted.”
“Pardon?”
“Don’t ask any questions again. Are you aware of who you are asking?”
“Sorry sir but she’s my mate so I have to know my boundaries.”
“We do get mated here as well so it’s not new.” The wizard replies. “If you know your mate is new or not strong, kill at least three wolves and drink a spoonful of their blood every day.”
“Ah!” George exclaims.
“What’s the purpose if I may ask?” He bows his head a bit, pleading.
“To protect your mate, kill 3 werewolves in a day. Once you fail to kill three, your mate becomes vulnerable to danger.”
“That’s bad…” He scratches the back of his neck, and walks out on the wizard but not without shouting “thank you!”
He bumps into a wolf as he staggers across the way. Remembering the rule guiding the wasteland, he grabs hold of wolf and sends him to the ground. As the wolf groans and cries for help, he gouges out his eyes with his human hands, and he dumps them into the water flowing across the region.
“No, you don’t do that.” The Wizard smirks, and walks up to him. “Don’t remove the eyes, we’ll retrieve them for you but don’t, again.”
“Sure, sir.” George says, and punches the forehead of the wolf with his clenched fists as he squats on top of the wolf giving him the required amount of wounds so he would die.
“Isn’t he dying?” The wizard asks, seeing that the wolf is only groaning and wincing in pain. It surprises him since he knows it doesn’t take long for them to die.
“Are you an alien?” He suddenly asks George and George tells him he’s not.
“Leave him, I’ll complete this.” He says, and George gets off of the wolf and runs after Kellie. The wizard tucks his instrument into the wolf’s skulls, and it dies immediately.
“Hey, Kellie!” Greg calls her. “Will you wait for me?”
“Be quick.” She stops in her tracks. George walks faster and soon catches up with her.
“Don’t you think we need time alone?” George says, and Kellie goes into his arms. She hugs him tightly and sobs.
“Why did I get here? I swear, I’m going to kill Alfred.” She sobs. Little does she know that killing Alfred means killing her mate since the white wolf power of George is from Alfred. George’s skull clicks.
“Oh I remember. I have the white wolf power now.” He tells her, and rubs her cheek after making her less closer to him.
“That’s good to hear. The waterfall. Just let’s go.” She tells him, and they brush past twelve strict Wizards.
“Nothing like love here, remember?” One of them says, roughly but they all move away. Kellie hisses as she takes her hands into George’s. They stop by a waterfall, and they sit beside it.
Then, George’s eyes start to blink, and it graduates to his mind. He’s being mind linked.
“Kellie, let me hear what they have to say.” George pecks her chin, and tells her.
“Hey George, do you copy?” Kimberly mind links him.
“Yes, I copy.” George retorts in his mind link as well. “I am here now with Kellie. Sadly, she won’t be able to shift until she gets out of here and she won’t be able to mind link until I mark her. I can’t mark her here.”
“Be cool.” Kimberly says, with her bedroom voice. “Charles is right here with me, we are doing all out best to get you both out of there, okay?”
“Okay, Kellie’s mum.”
“I’m Kimberly.”
“Okay, Kimberly. Thank you. My regards to Charles.”
“Oh you know that.” She scoffs. “My regards to my baby. I trust you’ll take care of her.”
“Sure, thank you.” George replies, and cuts the mind link.
“How is mum? I hope she’s good. How is Dad?” Kellie asks, impatiently waiting for responses.
“They are all good. Kimberly said she’s doing her best to get us out of here.” George says, and uses his hands to touch his head immediately.
“That hurts.” He says, after getting another hit on his head. He stares back and sees it’s three witches standing behind him and knocking on his head.
“Go and kill two more wolves. You partially killed one.” One of the witches says, and they all disappear afterwards.
“Hold on.” George tells Kellie and she focuses her attention on him.
“Why do these people think we can just keep killing and killing wolves?” George asks and Kellie hisses.
“Don’t mind them, we would get out of here.”
“And resume high school.”
“Sure. Maybe.”
“Sure! Fighting!” George says, and stands up only to come in close contact with that Wizard.
“It’s dark now. Have you killed the two wolves?” The wizard asks.
“Have you killed a wolf today?” He asks Kellie too but they all nod, giving him the ‘no’ answer.
“You’re disqualified.”
“Sir?” George says, and Kellie’s heart starts to pound. She stands to her feet and faces the wizard.
“You’re going to the dungeon. Two of you.” He says, and walks away.
“Sir but please…” Kellie pleads but George shushes her.
“We might escape through the dungeon.” He whispers.
“You don’t know anything.” She weeps. “There’s no way we won’t die and again, if we escape, we will be badly hurt and banned by the moon goddess not to be able to get mated again.”
“That’s terrible.”
A witch suddenly appears and grabs a wolf walking on the road. She twists her hands and the wolf separates into two. Then, she jerks up her elbow, gesticulating to George and Kellie, poof, she disappears again. The wolf is now two apart from the real one. Kellie walks up to the real one and kills him immediately.
George throttles the neck of the two clones but they don’t die.
“You’re to drink their blood. Not necessary for you to be the killer.” Kellie says to him, carrying the dead wolf in her hand.
“But these aren’t working since they are clones.”
“Oh.”
“You see?”
“Yes but I don’t believe so.” Kellie retorts, and drops the dead body on the ground with a loud thud. She sends George away from the top of the wolves and with a blow for each of them, they slump and die.
“Wow. What a strong mate.” George comments. Kellie rolls her eyes at him, and says, “No. You’re stronger. Just that white Wolves aren’t fit to do these. Completely opposite to the red wolves.”
“Okay, quick. Let’s go dump them.” George tells her, carrying the two dead wolves across his chest. Kellie carries hers too and they head towards the dungeon.
“Wait.” Kellie says, stopping them both from moving. “Let all these ones dump their murdered wolves and so we go freely.” George shakes his head in disgust, seeing many red wolves carrying two wolves each on their hands and dumping them in the trash can or better called, the dungeon.
“Meanwhile, you can drink the blood.” Kellie says.
“But you’re fetish.” George jokes with her. “You just said that simply.”
She softly chuckles as George sips the two wolves’ blood.
“Let’s go.” Kellie says and marches towards the dungeon. George follows behind her, and asks, “what of the first wolf I killed?”
“Ain’t necessary for you to drink three Wolves’ blood. You’re good to go today.”
They reach there, dump the wolves, thanking the witch in their mind for saving their asses.
Immediately Kellie moves forward and dumps her wolf, she slides inside the dungeon.
“Kellie!”
