” But that’s impossible right? You’re way more richer and have connections than he does, that shouldn’t be a problem if he finds out and decided to go to court. We would win the case ” Tia said and her eyes widened and she sighed softly.
” Once again, I’m useless within you, thanks for reminding me ” She said cutely and Tia chuckled.
” You’re forgetting things these days. You care to tell me what’s wrong? ” Tia asked as she moved closer to Lyra.
” You remember Mr Dean? ” She asked with a light chuckle and Tia raised her brows with a little smile on.
” Yeah?… ”
” I don’t know, I just feel some kind of connection between him and I did some research about him and we’re the same age and he’s single ” Lyra said shylyand Tia chuckled.
” Wait, you like him? ”
” I don’t know, I just.. feel like I know him and he does too ” She muttered.
” Well, you two are a really perfect match except from the fact that you’re richer than he is. But he’s great too, he’s a billionaire and his company ranges top 7 and yours 2, you two would really make a good couple ” Tia said.
” What if he has a secret wife? ”
” Well, you can ask him ” Tia said and she raised her brows.
” Ask him? ” She asked unsurely.
” I mean, like invite him over for a date and you know.. ask him like that ” Tiasaid and she rolled her eyes.
” Like it’s that easy ” She muttered.
” I think he kinda likes you too, the smiles and secret stares he was passing you, I saw them all ” Tia said and Lyra scoffed.
” And how true is that? ”
” Really true, I’m serious ”
” Whatever ” Lyra muttered and the room went silent for a while before Tia broke it.
” Um.. I wanna meet with Henri ” She said and Lyra raised her brows.
” Really? ”
” Yeah, he called last night. Don’t knowhow he got my number ” She replied and Lyra nodded.
” That’s nice, sure you can go ” She said with a little smile.
” Um.. I was wondering if I could keep up with the pretense, I mean that way it could help for a while. ” She said and Lyra raised her brows.
” Pretense? ”
” Yeah, he kinda thinks I birthed the twins and that must be Bruce and Ella’s belief too ” She said and Lyra smiled dryly.
” Nice, they’re dumber than I thought. But they can’t be dumb forever, they’re going to find out either ways but I like the idea of this, keep on with the show till they find out themselves. But won’t that scare Henri away? ” Lyra asked.
” Yeah, I thought about that too. I’m just.. I don’t know if to trust him with it, he’s forever going to be loyal to Bruce and might inform him if I tell him about the truth ” She replied and Lyra nodded.
” I guess you will have to keep up with the show then. You two getting back together will have to wait until they find out themselves ” Lyra said and Tia nodded.
* At A Restaurant *
Tia alighted from her Lambo, she removed her sunglasses to get a good view of where she was and she clicked her tongue lightly before inserting her shades inside her jacket’s pocket.
She was putting on a blue boyfriend jeans, a white crop top coupled with a blue jacket and her hair packed in a simple ponytail.
” I’ll be fine alone, wait for me in the car ” She said to her guard who nodded then stayed back while Tia walked into the restaurant.
” VIP unit ” An attendant directed her and she nodded before walking over to the VIP unit.
On seeing her, Henri got up and his eyestrailed all over her body in bewilderment.
She has changed, really much. She looks totally different now, prettier and richer, definitely cause she smells and looks like luxury.
” Hey ” Tia said with a little smile and they hugged lightly before Tia sat on the seat opposite his.
A waiter came to take their orders.
” How have you been doing? ” Henri asked as they ate silently.
” Fine, you? ” She asked and he smiled lightly.
” I guess not as fine as you have been. Have been trying to live without having to think about you all day which is impossible but you seem okay and happy without me than I thought you might have been ” Henri said truthfully.
” I guess ” Tia muttered.
” I’m sorry ” He suddenly said and she looked up at him with a raised brow.
” I’m sorry about what happened to Miss Lyra… ” He said and Tia looked away from his gaze.
” That was why you stopped contacting me right? And that was why you moved on without me, right? ” Henri asked hurtfully.
” I guess ” Tia mumbled and Henri sighed.
” You know I couldn’t have done a thing right? It would be totally wrong if I had tried to inform.. ”
” I know, I know ” Tia cut him off.” So why? Why did you forget about us? Why did you put an end to us abruptly? ” He asked hurtfully.
” Henri… I just needed space, away from everything together with Lyra. Your boss broke her and I had to be there for her, that’s why ” She replied.
” But does it make all sense now? Us.. you ended it already, I mean you have kids now, I.. can’t believe this.. when I thought you were probably still waiting just as much as I was but.. look at you, you’ve gotten over it all and now have a family of your own ” He muttered hurtfully and frustratedly.
Tia ran out words, he knew he was hurting inside as he said those words and in ad much as she would have loved to tell him the truth, to tell him she was waiting for him all these years, that she missed him just as much as he missed her, she can’t,, not now.
He would have to find out himself. ” Can we talk about something else? ” She asked and Henri chuckled dryly.
” I came here so we could talk about us. But since everything didn’t go as expected. So tell me, who’s the lucky guy you have those beautiful kids for? ”
” You don’t have to know ” Tia muttered and he chuckled dryly once again.
” Yeah I don’t have to know but I’m guessing he’s a rich one from the way you look now, all rich and luxurious ” He muttered and Tia almost chuckled but she didn’t at how jealous he sounded.
Her phone suddenly beeped when she was about saying a thing or two and she clicked on the message.
She raised her head slightly to Henri who was already staring at her.
” I… I’m sorry I have to leave now, there’s an emergency at work ” She said slowly and Henri nodded slowly.
” Yeah, it’s fine. You have a work now, it’s all fine ” He muttered.
” I’m sorry, we will do this some other time ” She said and then grabbed her car keys.
She stopped and then looked at him slowly. ” Um.. you can pay the… Or do you need me to… ”
” It’s fine, you can leave ” Henri cut her off and she nodded before rushing out.
Henri sighed frustratedly as he lowered his head on the table. ” Can’t believe I lost her ” He muttered hurtfully.
** LH Conglomerate **
” So he called you? ” Tia asked in surpriseand Lyra nodded.
” I mean yeah, I don’t know why but he did and he invited me to his birthday party ” She said and Tia smiled.
” Wow, that’s nice. So what was so important you asked me to come check? ”
” Here.. ” Lyra dropped a document before her.
” Bruce’s tryna sign a 100 million dollars deal with us ” She said with a little smirk on.
” Really? What’s he planning? ” Tia asked with a raised brows.
” Well, I don’t know but I rejected it already and seems like he’s going to pay us a visit tomorrow, his secretary sent this ” She pointed to a letter.
” He’s tryna find out how strong your new company have gotten. For you to reject a 100 million dollars deal, he sure is shocked ” Tia chuckled and Lyra nodded.
” I don’t wanna have anything to do with him anymore but since it’s about business, let’s hear what he has to say ” Lyra said and Tia nodded.
” He’s coming over with Ella? ” Tia asked as she read the letter and Lyra nodded.
” Since they’re married now, she has a hand in his company, they run it together ” She replied.
” Well, let’s wait for tomorrow then ” Tia said with a little smirk.
** Next Day **
* LH Conglomerate *
Bruce alighted the car as Henri opened the door for him and then Ella and they both alighted the car.
” Welcome to LH Conglomerate ” Tia said as she walked over to them with a guardbeside her. She bowed lightly and then raised her head.
Her eyes met with Henri but she looked away. ” This way please ” She led the way.
Bruce glanced at Ella and they both followed her inside.
They got to Lyra’s office and Tia walked in first and they walked in after her.
Lyra was on her feet when they walked in. ” Have your seat please ” She said professionally, gesturing at the two seats opposite hers and they did as told.
She smirked lightly and then sat on her seat with Tia standing beside her and Henri standing opposite The Ford’s.
” I received your letter, is anything the problem? ” She asked with a slightly raised brows.
” You rejected my 100 million dollars offer? ” Bruce asked like he was suprised.
” And is anything the problem? ” Lyra also asked with a raised brow.
” My company would like to work with yours, you care to tell us why you rejected our first deal together ”
” Well, due to some reasons LH Conglomerate won’t be working with Ford’s Enterprise, either of my two companies ” She added.
” Why? “
