Third Person’s POV;
“What happened to Silver Moon pack?” Liam asked as it was the pack of his girlfriend, Layla.
“Silver Moon pack is under attack!” Samuel uttered leaving everyone in shock.
“What? Who in the hell did that?” Elijah stood up angrily.
“Vampires. The entire clans of vampires situated in Canada have attacked Silver Moon to show their power. We must help them” Sameul said ready to fight to battle.
“You were sent to Silver Moon to give us details if anything happened. Why didn’t you call first? We would have reached there by now” Alpha King Cole scolded in annoyance.
“There is a network problem in the area from the past few days. But since yesterday, there was no network at all. I think the vampires must be behind this as well. They successfully cut us all off from the rest of the world” Samuel said not believing that they fell in the trap.
“Whatever has happened tell me in detail. Hurry up! Give me all the details” Elijah said not waste any more time in the blame game when they can still help the remaining pack members.
“They circled the pack last night and attacked this morning” Samuel started informing them the event of the night while answering the important questions as well.
“But Silver Moon is at the border of Canada and America. There were not many vampires in the vampire clans there” Elijah asked shocked by the combined attack.
“The Vampire King has sent vampires from Italy, Russia, and all over the world. They said those lands belonged to the vampires and they will take it back at any cost. I feel like more than half of the vampire kingdom is there fighting the Silver Moon pack alone” Samuel said shivering at the thought of the disaster that the packmates are going through.
“Damn!” Liam punched the table in anger.
“Alpha Robin commanded me to come here and inform you. I barely escaped from that land and came here. I think some vampires were after me. They must have followed me here as well” Samuel informed them urgently.
“We will take care of them” Matt said his voice as hard as stone.
“Liam, get the army ready. We will leave now” Elijah ordered Liam and turned towards his other two trustworthy warriors,
“Matt and Stefan, you must inform the Alphas of neighboring packs and let them know that I have commanded them to reach near the Silver Moon pack and wait for my signal to attack” Elijah gave out multiple commands without breaking a sweat already planning the strategy in his head.
“I will keep my army ready and meet you near the Silver Moon pack house directly” Alpha Luke said and Elijah nodded.
“Everyone, we must help Silver Moon pack before it gets worse” Elijah commanded to his three friends.
“Yes, my Alpha” Everyone replied in unison and left for their individual mission at hand.
Liam was the first one to reach the door. As he was about to open the door, it was open by a familiar feminine dainty figure by the other side. The usual playful voice now resonated in the great hall in horror and fear,
“What do you mean by get worse? What happened to my pack?” Layla asked in an utter shock.
“Baby.. that…” Liam was worried about telling her the truth. He was scared of her reaction and that she wouldn’t be able to handle it as they had no idea how her family was doing right now.
“Don’t you dare lie to me!” Layla shouted already reading his train of thought.
“What happened to Silver Moon pack, brother?” Cora asked standing next to Layla while looking directly at Elijah.
“I will escort you out, Alpha Luke” Alpha King Cole said not wanting to get involved in the delicate drama which is about to unfold.
“Please” Alpha Luke accepted immediately mirroring his thought as they left the room quietly.
Elijah closed his eyes and took a deep sigh before replying honestly,
“Silver Moon pack is under attack”
“What? How did that happen so suddenly? Why didn’t anyone inform me?” Layla asked as fear gripped her heart for the safety of her family and pack.
“We also just got to know that when Beta Samuel reached here. There was no network in the area. Beta Samuel barely reached here to give us this info a few minutes ago” Elijah replied honestly.
“I will get the army ready and then leave for Crescent Moon pack” Matt said before patting Liam’s shoulder and giving a pitiful look to Layla.
“Very well, give me greetings to Alpha Xavier” Elijah said and Matt bowed before leaving.
Elijah then turned towards Stefan, “Stefan, take your father to the nursing room and then leave for Moonshine and Eclipse pack, don’t forget to give my greetings to Alpha Evandor and Alpha Rutherford too” Elijah commanded.
“As you command, My Alpha” Stefan bowed before taking his father’s arm and leaving the room as well.
“Are you okay, dad?” Stefan whispered.
“I am fine, son. I am more worried about Ms. Layla Swan. She must be in shock and there is nothing we can do to….” The rest of Beta Samuel’s statement was unheard as the door closed after them.
“Cora, inform Mum about our leave” Elijah gave Cora a look and she understood it immediately.
“Yes, brother. Mom needs to know” Saying that, Cora stormed out of the room like there was a ghost on her tail.
“I will get the army ready” Elijah patted on Liam’s back before keeping one of his hands on Layla’s shoulder and then patting Liam’s shoulder.
He closed the door and left towards the training ground.
“Layla, don’t worry…” Liam tried to speak but she cut him off.
“Is my family, okay?” She asked in a hurry.
“We don’t know that yet, Love. We can’t get in touch with them. That’s why we have to leave as soon as possible. Get hold of yourself. How can I leave you behind and fight if you are in this state?” Liam said in the most gentle and soft voice possible.
“You are not leaving me behind..” Layla said not giving him room for rejection.
“What do you mean?” Liam asked feigning ignorance.
“I am coming with you” Layla said fearlessly.
“No, bloody no!” Liam replied in complete denial.
Layla was a late bloomer. Even though, she was Alpha’s daughter and quite strong with Luna’s capabilities, she still needed more practice to fight with bloodthirsty vampires.
“What do you mean, Liam? My family and my people are getting slaughtered there and you want me to sit here and wait for everyone to die?” Layla shouted from the top of her lungs.
As much as Liam wanted to shout back, he controlled himself as he knew what she was going through.
“Layla, baby, listen to me. We are leaving right now. We will reach there soon and fight along the side of your family until either we or those blood-sucking creatures die. We will do our best to protect your family. You don’t need to come with us, please” Liam said in a calm tone.
“Liam, that is my family. How can I sit here when they are in danger?” Layla said not wanting to hear a no anymore.
“I know they are in danger but I can’t let you go there” Liam said persistently while still holding his composure.
“You think I will take a decision based on your opinion?” Layla asked as her Luna aura was about to show itself.
“Only the most trained female warriors with rank first in battle are coming with us, Layla. Try to understand” Liam said pleading with her to understand.
“Are you looking down on me and trying to say I am not capable enough to protect my own people because I am a late bloomer?” Layla asked in complete disbelief.
“No, baby. That’s not what I mean!” Liam said failing to explain as she was not ready to listen.
“Then what are you trying to say?” Layla demanded harshly.
Liam grabbed both of her shoulders tightly and looked deep into her eyes.
“I am not stopping you because you are weak or whatever reason you had made up in your pretty mind. I just can’t afford to lose you” Liam replied, his sound was a bit high.
“I am stopping you because I love you, Layla…!”
